Most Sakarya websites are read by people who have never set foot in the province. A sourcing manager in Birmingham screens a stamping supplier before booking a plant visit; a family in Istanbul compares lakeside cabins on a phone on Thursday night. Whether you run the Sakarya company or represent it abroad, the site has to answer both kinds of reader without making either one dig.
We, Talha Aslan and team, wrote this guide for manufacturers, suppliers, hosts and service firms in Sakarya, and for the distributors and agents who sell their products in Europe. Each section covers one decision, gives a criterion to judge it by and ends with something you can check before a project starts.
01What a Website Has to Do in Sakarya's Export Economy
In Sakarya, a website's main job is to earn the trust of a buyer who has not yet visited the factory. TİM data shows the province sold 6.28 billion dollars of goods to 149 countries and 12 free zones in 2024, and 5.51 billion of that was automotive.
Counted by place of production, the Ministry of Trade puts 3.7% of Turkey's 2023 exports in Sakarya, next to 12.0% for neighboring Kocaeli and 6.9% for Bursa. Suppliers in all three provinces quote to the same carmakers and tier one customers, often for the same part families. When a buyer opens three supplier sites side by side, yours should not be the one with missing certificates or an outdated machine list.
Before a single page is designed, answer these questions in writing:
- Decision maker: Is it a purchasing specialist, a supplier quality engineer, a dealer or a family planning a weekend?
- Reading language: Which five countries lead your sales list, and will people there read a Turkish page at all?
- Proof: What convinces them: a certificate, a machine list, a photo of the line, or one sentence saying the lake is a four minute walk away?
Those answers decide the menu order and the first screen.
02Who Searches for Sakarya Businesses, and When
Search behavior around Sakarya splits sharply by reader and by season, and a site needs a page ready for each pattern it wants to catch.
- Foreign buyer: Rarely types the province; searches for a part, a process or a standard, such as "aluminum die casting supplier Turkey" or "IATF 16949 stamped brackets".
- Distributor or agent: Searches the manufacturer's name to check that the company looks current before presenting it to a client.
- Weekend guest: Searches on Thursday and Friday for terms like "Sapanca bungalow with hot tub" or "breakfast in Kırkpınar", almost always on a phone.
- Summer visitor: Looks for campsites, guesthouses and fish restaurants on the Karasu and Kocaali coast and wants to know about the beach and parking.
- Students and families: Around Sakarya University in Serdivan, searches for courses, housing, cafés and health services rise at the start of each semester.
Pick the two lines that fit your business and write down which existing page answers each one. If no page does, that page goes to the top of the new site plan. For seasonal businesses, publish season pages at least a month before demand starts so search engines have time to crawl them.
03Vetting a Web Partner You Will Not Meet in Person
We work with Sakarya businesses entirely online, so the partner you choose should be judged on how well they understand your reader, not on how close their office is. A team that builds good holiday rental sites will not automatically know how a supplier quality engineer reads a company profile, and the reverse is just as true.
Put these questions to every agency on your shortlist and ask for written answers:
- Reader: What will our buyer look for first, and how will you show it on the first screen?
- Language: Who writes the French or Polish text: a machine, a general translator, or someone who knows the industry vocabulary?
- Maintenance: When a certificate expires, who updates it on the site, and in how many languages at once?
- Evidence: Which live sites can I open on my own phone and test right now?
For that last question, ask for addresses, not screenshots. Fill in a form, load a page on a weak mobile signal, switch the language. Our own live projects, including a counseling practice in Serdivan, are on the references page.
04Who Owns the Domain, Server, Code and Certificates
Every asset of the website, from the domain to the archive of certificates and drawings, should be registered to the company, with the agency added only as an authorized user. In family owned Sakarya firms, domains are often still sitting in the personal account of whoever built the first site, discovered only when the renewal date has passed.
Use this handover checklist:
- Domain: Is the registrar account tied to a company email address, and is renewal automatic?
- Hosting: Are the contract and invoices in the company's name, and do you have your own login to the control panel?
- Code and design files: Does the contract state that source code and design files are handed over to you?
- Accounts: Do you hold the owner role in Google Business Profile, Search Console and GA4?
- Document archive: Is there an organized copy of certificates, product sheets and photos that lives outside the website?
The last item matters most for suppliers. One folder with every document and its validity date keeps both the website and audit preparation simple.
05How an Online Project Runs, Stage by Stage
Our Sakarya projects run on video calls, a written scope and a shared folder, and every stage ends with a deliverable you approve. If you happen to be in Istanbul and would rather talk face to face, we can meet at our office in Ataşehir by appointment, but no step of the project depends on it.
- Discovery call: We go through your customers, markets and current site, in English or Turkish, and send written notes afterward.
- Scope and page list: Languages, pages, forms and integrations are written down item by item; work starts once you sign off.
- Material collection: Drawings, certificate scans, the machine list and photos go into the shared folder, and gaps are tracked on a list.
- Design approval: You review the design in a browser on your own phone; no code is written before your approval.
- Build and content: Pages and language versions are built, and progress is visible in our CRM at any time.
- Launch and training: The site goes live and we walk your team through the panel in a recorded session.
In manufacturing projects the slowest step is usually the third. Booking a photographer between shifts and asking the quality department for document scans on day one can save weeks.
06Map Search in Sakarya: Two Names and a Divided Lake
Local visibility in Sakarya rests on a Google Business Profile that uses the real business name and address and matches the website exactly. Google's guidelines require the name to match the one used in the real world; adding keywords such as "Sapanca Lake View Bungalows Cheap" to it puts the profile at risk.
Two local quirks cause most of the confusion. First, the provincial center goes by two names: some people search for Sakarya, others for Adapazarı. Second, Lake Sapanca is split between two provinces: Kırkpınar is in Sakarya, while Maşukiye on the opposite shore belongs to Kartepe in Kocaeli. A lakeside business whose pages do not state the province and the shore clearly will attract visitors who meant the other side and leave at once.
Work through local search in this order:
- Profile: Complete the category, hours, photos and service area; only service area businesses may hide their address.
- Site: Show address and phone in the footer of every page, written exactly as on the profile; inside an industrial zone, add the street or plot reference.
- Districts: If you genuinely serve Hendek, Akyazı or Erenler, say so on one service area page with real job examples.
- Reviews: Ask customers to mention the service and the district, and reply to every review yourself.
Cloning the same text onto a page for each district creates what Google treats as doorway pages. The wider local and international search work is described on our SEO services page.
07French, Polish or English First: Choosing Languages
In Sakarya, the sales list decides the second and third language, not a design preference. According to TİM, the province's five largest export markets in 2024 were France, Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy. The common assumption that English covers everything falls short for many suppliers here.
- English: The base version for almost every supplier; engineers in many countries read it alongside UK buyers.
- French and Polish: If most of your volume goes to these two countries, at least the supplier profile, product groups and quote form belong in those languages.
- German: Pays off if you supply German carmakers or their plants in Central Europe; otherwise it can wait.
- Arabic: Worth considering for Sapanca hosts only if your actual guest records show the demand.
Each language should live at its own address and carry hreflang annotations, which tell Google about the language versions of a page; every version must reference the others and itself.
A new language is more than a translation job. Someone has to answer a French inquiry within a reasonable time, in French or at least in clear English. The technical side of language versions is covered on the multilingual website page.
08Load Speed, Hosting and Quotes That Reach the Inbox
A Sakarya website is tested in two very different settings: on a buyer's office network in Lyon or Warsaw, and on a weak mobile signal in the Geyve valley or on the lakeshore. Google's Core Web Vitals call a page good when, at the 75th percentile of visits, LCP is 2.5 seconds or less, INP is 200 milliseconds or less and CLS is 0.1 or less.
LCP measures how long the largest element takes to load, INP how quickly the page reacts to a tap, and CLS how much the layout shifts while loading. On manufacturer sites, the usual cause of poor LCP is a full resolution factory photo or a silent background video placed on the first screen.
On the security side, ask for the following:
- Certificates and updates: SSL renews automatically, and the panel and plugins are patched on a schedule.
- Backups: Daily backups are stored away from the server, and a restore has been tested at least once.
- Upload forms: Forms that accept drawings limit file types and sizes.
- Email authentication: SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are in place and correct.
That last point is critical for exporters. A quote sent to a buyer in France can land in spam simply because the domain's authentication records are incomplete. Check yours in seconds with our SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker.
If most visitors are in Europe, hosting behind a content delivery network serves pages from locations near them and usually shortens load times there.
09Page Structures for Sakarya's Main Industries
Each industry in Sakarya needs a site that answers its own first question, so the structure should start from that question rather than from a template. Here is the starting layout we suggest for four common business types:
- Automotive parts suppliers: Part families and processes on the home page; a separate supplier profile with certificates, machine park and capacity; a quote form that accepts drawings and asks for estimated annual volume. Machining and contract shops will find a fuller example on our CNC and contract manufacturing website page.
- Furniture makers in Kaynarca and Akyazı: Collections, rooms and models in three layers; dimensions, materials and finishes on every model; a dealer map and a trade price request for registered dealers.
- Hosts on Lake Sapanca and the coast: Cabin types, distance to the water, breakfast and pet rules, an availability request and WhatsApp; our bungalow website page walks through the setup.
- Taraklı and nature tourism: Route pages built around the town's Cittaslow identity, craft workshops, and a short request form for trips to the Acarlar floodplain forest that asks for date and group size.
Machinery makers in the industrial zones follow the same logic: state which materials you machine, to what tolerance and up to what size, rather than a general line about quality.
10KVKK, Cookie Consent and Selling Online From Turkey
Any Sakarya website that collects personal data through a form needs a privacy notice under Turkey's KVKK, Law No. 6698; Article 10 obliges whoever collects the data to inform the person it belongs to. If your quote form asks for a name, email and phone number, link the notice right next to the form.
- Privacy notice: State in plain language which data you keep, why, for how long and who it is shared with.
- Cookie consent: Give visitors a real choice over analytics and advertising cookies; for users in the European Economic Area, Google requires consent mode for measurement and personalized advertising features.
- Health data: A clinic or counseling practice in Serdivan that asks about health in a booking form is handling special category data, which needs stricter protection.
- Online sales: A furniture maker or food producer selling to consumers must show the distance sales contract, the preliminary information form, the withdrawal right and return terms before payment.
Exporters with European visitors should note one more point: in the EU, consent is required before non essential tracking runs. Showing the cookie banner on the Turkish version while forgetting the French one is a frequent gap.
Leave the final legal review of these texts to your lawyer or compliance advisor. Our part is making sure each text appears in the right place, at the right moment and in every language version.
11Rebuilding an Older Site Without Losing Search Traffic
When an established Sakarya site is rebuilt, every old address that Google knows needs a matching destination on the new site. Skip this and a new site that looks far better can draw fewer visits than the old one for weeks after launch.
This is the sequence we follow on redesigns:
- Address inventory: All old URLs, the pages earning clicks in Search Console and the pages with external links go into one sheet.
- One to one mapping: Each old URL is matched with the closest new page; sending everything to the home page confuses visitors and Google alike.
- 301 redirects: The mapping is implemented as permanent redirects, telling browsers and Google that a page has moved for good.
- Staging: The new site stays behind a password until launch. Google cannot read a noindex on a page blocked in robots.txt; to keep a page out of the index, it must be crawlable and carry noindex.
- First weeks: Search Console error reports are watched and missed URLs are added.
On supplier sites, document URLs belong in the sheet too. A customer's supplier portal may still hold a link to a certificate on your old site; if that link breaks, the auditor sees an empty page.
The full process is described on our website redesign page.
12Common Mistakes on Sakarya Websites
Most mistakes on Sakarya websites come from misjudging the reader, not from poor design. Here are six we meet often, each with a better alternative:
- A Turkish only supplier site: If most of your output ships to Europe, publish at least the supplier profile and quote form in English and in your main market's language.
- Certificates as images: Instead of a scanned picture, write the certificate name, issuing body and expiry date as text and attach the original as a download.
- A vague lakeside location: Instead of just "in Sapanca", state the shore, the village and how many minutes it takes to walk to the water.
- Season pages published in season: Update summer pages for Karasu and Kocaali in early spring, not in June, so they are indexed when searches begin.
- WhatsApp as the only channel: Add an email address and quote form for foreign buyers and a click to call button for local guests.
- No record of where inquiries come from: Tag every form submission with its language and page so you can see which market is actually responding.
Most of these can be fixed through content and settings, without a full redesign.
13Scope Decisions That Shape the Budget
The cost of a web design Sakarya project is set by the scope you choose, not by the province; our prices are the same for Sakarya as for anywhere else. These decisions have the most effect on a quote:
- Number of languages: Each extra version, such as French, Polish or Italian, adds writing, technical setup and ongoing upkeep.
- Product depth: Hundreds of furniture models or part groups call for bulk data import and filtering.
- Quote flow: Drawing upload, material and quantity fields need more setup than a simple contact form.
- Dealer and customer areas: A password protected dealer login, price lists or order tracking can grow into a separate software project.
- Online sales: Payment, shipping and stock integration form a scope item of their own.
The healthiest way to control the budget is to phase the work. A supplier might launch with Turkish and English, then add French and Polish once the first inquiries from those markets arrive. A host can start with an availability request form and move to an online booking system only when volume justifies it.
14After Launch: Three Months of Data, Then a Decision
Launch is the start of measurement, and the data from the first three months shows where effort on the site should go next. We plan that period like this:
- Month one: Indexing and error reports in Search Console are monitored, and forms and phone taps are verified as conversions in GA4.
- Month two: We look at which language versions and countries bring visits, and simplify the supplier profile or availability page where needed.
- Month three: New content, extra languages or ads are decided on real inquiry data; seasonal businesses get a page calendar for the next season.
Before you decide, answer the questions in this guide for your own business: who your main reader is, which languages you sell in, which documents are ready and when your season begins. With those answers in hand, a first web design Sakarya call is short and productive. Our web design page for Kocaeli approaches similar questions for the neighboring industrial province.
Our fixed packages are listed in the web design pricing section, and you can book a video discovery call in English or Turkish through our contact page. After the call we come back with a written scope and quote.
