Structured data (schema markup) translates your page content into a language search engines understand precisely: "this is a product, this is its price, this is its rating"; "this is an article, this is the author, this is the date". You add this information in JSON-LD format inside the page's <head>, and Google can turn it into rich results like star ratings, FAQ dropdowns, price and stock. A rich result takes up more space on the search page and clearly lifts click-through rate.
The code this tool produces follows the schema.org standard; no data is sent to a server, it is built entirely in your browser. Before adding it, validate with Google's Rich Results Test or a schema validator. Remember: markup must reflect content that actually appears on the page; marking up a rating or price that is not visible to the user is grounds for a Google manual action (penalty).
Rich results are just one layer of technical SEO.
