What is SEO consulting, and what changes when you work with us?
SEO consulting is the work of deciding what your site needs to get found in Google and AI search. It also covers the order of the work, who does it and how you measure the outcome. The definition is simple on paper. In practice, however, the difference lies in how we organize the work. In our model Talha Aslan sets the strategy and owns the outcome. Experienced team members run the technical work, content and reporting.
That structure has three concrete effects:
- Nothing gets lost: the goal you explain in your quote request is still on the strategist's agenda when the month six report goes out.
- Your budget goes into the work: you pay for audits, implementation and measurement.
- Accountability stays clear: whether things go well or badly, the same name answers for the result.
We have done this since 2012, for clients and for the SaaS projects we develop. For example, we planned the URL architecture of a 41-service catalog on a social media platform we worked on around real search behavior, so we test every method we recommend on the projects we work on first. You have seen the standard scope in the list above; for a month by month breakdown of deliverables, read our article on what SEO consulting includes.
How long does SEO consulting take to show results?
The short answer: for most businesses the first meaningful business results arrive somewhere between four and twelve months. Google gives the same range in its "How to hire an SEO" video on the Search Central channel. In most cases, it says, implementing improvements and then seeing potential benefit takes four months to a year. Still, a result is not a single moment. That is why we track progress on four levels:
- Technical: crawl errors drop and important pages enter the index. This usually shows within the first weeks.
- Visibility: impressions and the number of queries you rank for grow in Search Console.
- Traffic: organic clicks to your target pages rise.
- Business: forms, calls and orders increase; this level always comes last.
Three things shape the timeline most: competition, the history of the site and how fast recommendations go live. The most common delay we see in practice is a fix waiting for months in a developer queue. So in your quote request, also tell us how much implementation capacity you can set aside each month.
If you want a quick look at where you stand, our free SEO checker scores title, meta description, canonical and speed signals in seconds. For what to expect month by month, see how long SEO takes.
How do you choose the right SEO consultant?
Google's own page Do you need an SEO? suggests a handful of questions to ask. Can you show examples of previous work? Do you follow Google Search Essentials? What results do you expect, and in what timeframe? And what is your experience in my industry, my country and with international sites? We are happy to answer every one of them. From our own experience we would also add these:
- Who owns the strategy and the outcome, and who does the implementation?
- Does the report show only impressions, or also which page brought how many enquiries?
- Do they have a team to implement technical fixes, or do they leave you with a list?
- Do you remain the owner of your Search Console and analytics accounts?
- Is visibility in AI search part of the scope?
Red flags teach as much as the questions do. Stop if you see a first-place guarantee, a claim of a special relationship with Google or an offer that keeps its methods secret. Google warns against exactly these promises on the same page. Moreover, buying links to manipulate rankings breaks Google's spam policies and puts your site at risk.

How does international and multilingual SEO consulting work?
If you sell in more than one country or language, translating your pages is rarely enough. Every language has its own search habits. People use different words for the same need, spelling variants split demand, and in some languages one idea takes many forms. Turkish is a good example: "SEO consulting" becomes "SEO danışmanlığı", "SEO danışmanı" or "SEO danışmanlığı fiyatları", and each form can carry a different intent.
In practice, international work changes three things:
- Research per market: we check which phrasing buyers really use in each language and at each stage, rather than which word a dictionary suggests. The keyword suggestion tool gives a quick first look at real autocomplete questions.
- Language signals: Google determines a page's language from its visible content, not from the lang attribute or the URL. That means a half-translated page sends mixed signals.
- Structure: Google's documentation describes country domains, subdomains and subdirectories, each with trade-offs; for most companies a subfolder per language is the easiest to maintain. Language versions then need correct hreflang pairs, and the hreflang generator builds them without syntax errors.
We run projects in English and German, and Talha Aslan handles Turkish as a native speaker, which helps if the Turkish market is one of your targets. If you are weighing whether you need this at all, our article on who needs international SEO and GEO consulting walks through typical cases.
How does local SEO work for businesses that serve customers nearby?
For a business that serves customers in person, map results often appear before the website itself. On its Business Profile help page, Google says local ranking rests mainly on three factors: relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot change distance, but relevance and prominence are largely in your hands. Google also states that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.
In large cities the picture becomes even sharper, because people often search with "near me" or with a neighborhood name, such as "dentist near me" or "physiotherapist" plus a district. Therefore we follow this order in local work:
- The right primary category, service list and opening hours in Google Business Profile.
- Identical name, address and phone details on the site, the profile and directories.
- District pages that carry genuinely different information instead of copies.
- A steady, natural flow of reviews and timely replies to them.
Businesses without a storefront that visit customers follow the same logic; Google lets them hide the address and define the areas they serve instead. We run local SEO remotely for businesses in any city, with the same transparency, and we study search behavior in each target market separately. For the step by step profile work, see our guide on Google Maps SEO.
How do SEO priorities change by industry?
The same technical foundation applies to every site; however, the industry sets the priorities. We have worked across 15+ industries, and the first month agenda looked different in each one:
- Healthcare and clinics: map visibility, pages that present the specialists and trust signals come first. Google says its systems give even more weight to content with strong E-E-A-T for topics that could affect people's health, finances or safety.
- Law and advisory firms: professional rules limit advertising in many markets, so informative content and a strong local profile carry the load.
- E-commerce: category structure, indexing rules for filter pages and product templates move the needle more than page by page fixes. We handle this side together with e-commerce consulting.
- Manufacturing and export: multilingual structure and dealer or distributor pages become critical, especially when you sell into several countries.
- SaaS and digital products: comparison, use case and integration pages capture the queries closest to a buying decision.
Among the brands we have worked with you will find a dental clinic, a law firm, a sports club and an insurance tech platform. You can see all of them live on our references page. For large sites with many teams and languages, our article on who needs enterprise SEO consulting explains how the priorities shift.
How is AI search changing SEO consulting?
Part of your audience now gets answers from Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT or Perplexity. Yet the foundation has not changed. In its guide to AI features and your website, Google states that AI Overviews and AI Mode need no additional requirements or special optimizations. The same foundational SEO practices apply. To appear as a supporting link, a page simply needs to be in the index and eligible to show with a snippet.
So we do not treat GEO as a separate kind of magic. Instead, it is a layer on top of good SEO. In practice we do the following:
- We write sections that answer each important question in the first paragraph.
- Brand, service and contact details become consistent across the site, the profile and directories.
- Every month we check a set of sample questions in AI answers by hand and note whether your brand appears.
- If you wish, we prepare a summary file for language models with the llms.txt generator. That said, Google does not treat llms.txt as a supported standard, and we tell you so plainly.
Conversely, if you want to limit how your content shows in AI answers, nosnippet and related controls give you that option. We explain the concept in more depth in what generative engine optimization is.
Why should an SEO consultant review a redesign before launch?
The day a new site goes live is the day organic traffic disappears fastest. If you remove old URLs without redirects, the ranking signals they collected over the years leave with them. That is why Google's site move guide suggests a clear order. First, list every current URL from sitemaps, server logs and analytics; then decide the destination for each one.
The guide also asks you to keep redirects in place for as long as possible, generally at least one year. For a medium-sized site, Google may need a few weeks to show the new URLs instead of the old ones. Temporary ranking fluctuation during that time is normal.
In redesign projects our role is not to slow the design down but to see the risk early. Before launch we check the following:
- The old to new URL mapping and the 301 rules; we test chains and loops one by one with the redirect checker.
- The title, canonical and schema output of the new platform. You can see which platform a site runs on with the website technology checker.
- Index coverage and error reports in Search Console during the first weeks after launch.
If your site is being rebuilt anyway, the most efficient path is to put these checks into the web design project from day one. You will find the full checklist in how to protect SEO during a website redesign.
What should you prepare before we start?
A quote request needs very little preparation. If you have the following at hand, we get a much sharper picture within the first 15 minutes:
- The site address and any domains you used in the past.
- Access to Search Console and analytics; you should stay the account owner.
- The three services or product groups you most want to sell.
- Your three toughest competitors, in each target market.
- Any design, domain or platform changes from the last twelve months.
If you run Google Ads, the search terms report is a valuable source too. Ad data shows within weeks which queries actually bring sales, and the SEO strategy feeds on that knowledge. Because our team also runs Google Ads management under the same strategy, that data moves into the SEO plan without loss. If you are planning a new ad budget as well, the Google Ads budget calculator is a practical starting point.
To get a quote, use the quote section of this page. After the call, we send an itemized written quote. Whether you continue is your decision; the roadmap stays with you either way. When you are ready, write to us.
Common mistakes when hiring SEO consulting
- ✕MistakeChoosing the offer with a ranking guarantee✓Do this insteadEven Google says no one can guarantee a first place. Ask for a timeline, a method and measurable milestones instead.
- ✕MistakeFiling the audit report in a drawer✓Do this insteadTrack implemented and pending recommendations separately; a recommendation that never goes live produces nothing.
- ✕MistakeLetting the consultant own Search Console and analytics✓Do this insteadStay the account owner and give the consultant user access. That way your data stays with you if you part ways.
- ✕MistakeTranslating one keyword list into every language✓Do this insteadResearch demand in each language natively; word forms, spelling variants and local intent change which pages you need.
- ✕MistakeLaunching a new site without an SEO check✓Do this insteadList the old URLs before the move and test the redirect plan before launch day.
