You see “disabled” or “suspended” at login
Route: the appeal step the app shows after you log in. The deadline is on screen; note the date at once. Me: one consistent appeal text, the evidence list and deadline tracking.
Services /08
Let me be clear up front: in Instagram account recovery, Meta makes the decision. I work only with the account’s real owner and only through Meta’s official appeal and recovery routes. Disabled, suspended or hacked accounts usually have an official route to try; permanently deleted accounts do not. I never ask for your password, I give no guarantee, and if the odds are low I tell you first.
Roadmap
Find what you see on screen: each case has its own official entry point at Meta, its own deadline and its own work for me.
Route: the appeal step the app shows after you log in. The deadline is on screen; note the date at once. Me: one consistent appeal text, the evidence list and deadline tracking.
Route: first the security@mail.instagram.com message in your old inbox, then instagram.com/hacked. Me: the order for getting your email back and preparing the video selfie.
Route: the two-factor access option at instagram.com/hacked. Me: we sort out backup codes, devices and the state of your email together.
Route: log in within 30 days of the deletion request and cancel it; the period can vary by region. After that there is no way back; I say so up front and we build plan B.
Route: the verification step on Meta’s screen; you upload the ID yourself. Me: a checklist so you send only what is requested, with unneeded fields covered physically.
Route: Meta Business Support Home, separate from the Instagram appeal. Me: I separate which asset is locked by which decision.
Approach
The sentences you hear most in this market are probably “100% recovery” and “I know someone at Meta”. Neither is true. Meta’s appeal and recovery tools are free, and only Meta makes the decision. Nobody can buy that decision; someone who asks for your password, wants money up front or writes to you by DM as “the support team” may well make you a victim twice.
What I offer is not a shortcut but a proper file. I have managed brands’ ad and social media accounts since 2012, so I know restriction, review and support screens from years of hands-on use as an advertiser. I have no contact at Meta and no special access. I diagnose your case and put the open official route and the deadline into a written case file. You submit everything from your own device; I manage the text, the order, the documents and the deadlines. If your case is simple enough to handle alone, I tell you that too.
The work does not end when the account comes back. Without two-factor authentication, backup codes, closing unknown sessions and a secure email, the same account can slip away again. If a hacked or locked account does not come back, we set up a secure new account and move your audience; if Meta closed it over a policy violation, we do not open a new Instagram account and move your audience to your own channels instead. Either way the goal is the same: your Instagram account should never be the only door into your business.
Process
In the free intro call we go through what you see, which notice you received and what you can still access. I put the case type, the open route and the deadline into the written case file.
We confirm ownership with evidence tied to the account and keep the documents going to Meta to a minimum. I never see your ID; you upload it to Meta yourself.
You send the appeal or recovery request from your own device, through the right channel, with one consistent text. I track the deadlines and Meta’s replies.
If the account returns, we complete two-factor authentication and session cleanup. If not: a secure new account after a hack or lost access, your own channels after a policy ban.
Customers should still find you while the account is down: that is the job of your own website and of Google Ads campaigns that catch people searching for your brand.
Who it is for
From businesses whose shop window is Instagram to creators who lost their account to a hacker.
References
These logos are not recovery clients; they are real brands I worked with on social media and advertising.
In a free intro call we look at the notice on your screen and what you can still access. I reply the same day and send you the open route and the deadline in writing. If the odds are low, I will not suggest a paid process.
My quote states up front what I will and will not do. Logging into your account, your password or your codes never appear on that list.
Sometimes Meta has deleted the account for good or the appeal route within Meta has closed. Then I will not sell you a process that only wastes time. After a hack or lost access, we set up a secure new account and bring your audience along; after a policy ban, we open no new Instagram account and move your audience to your own channels. For a legal step, I only hand your lawyer an organised set of facts and evidence. To describe your case, write to me.
Meta’s recovery and appeal routes are free and open to everyone, so an honest comparison should show when outside help actually makes sense.
| Criterion | On your own, official routes | Services promising guaranteed recovery or an “inside contact” | Official process with Talha |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Varies; some want payment up front | Written fee based on scope |
| Method | Meta’s forms and in-app steps | Claims of an “inside contact” or special access | Only Meta’s official routes, in the right order, with complete documents |
| Password and personal data | Stay with you | Some ask for passwords, codes or ID copies | No password, no ID; you upload your ID to Meta yourself |
| Guarantee | None | A “100% recovery” promise | None; low odds are named up front |
| Risk of errors | Wrong form or conflicting submissions | Risk of fraud when passwords or codes are shared | One consistent file and tracked deadlines |
| After recovery | Up to you | Depends on the offer | Two-factor authentication, session cleanup and a continuity plan |
If you can still open your email inbox, you can solve many hacked account cases on your own. In that case I tell you in the first call and show you the steps instead of taking the job.
I have no fixed price list, because no two cases look alike. My quote lists the following factors one by one.
Hack recovery, a policy appeal and identity verification each need different preparation and follow up.
If you still control the registered email or phone, the process gets shorter, because Meta’s recovery links arrive there; if both are gone, the work grows.
A business portfolio, ad account, Facebook Page or several profiles widen the scope.
Whether proof of ownership is ready or has to be rebuilt directly affects preparation time.
Because the window can close any day, the last days of an appeal need priority and close follow up.
Team members, number of devices, company email and an announcement plan add work.
English, German or Turkish processes need their own preparation. For extra EU routes (DSA complaint, dispute settlement body), I organise documents and deadlines; you file the complaint yourself, and no legal assessment of your case is included.
After the free intro call, you get the fee in writing together with the case file. If the odds are low, I will not advise you to spend money. To start, contact me here.
The flow below shows a typical case. Meta sets the response time, so the steps may shift.
We identify the case type, secure your email account and note the last day of the appeal window.
We confirm ownership with evidence tied to the account and cut the documents going to Meta down to the minimum.
You send the appeal or recovery request from your own device, through the right channel, with one consistent text.
We watch Meta’s emails and in-app notices and complete any requested verification on time.
If the account returns, we secure it. If not: a secure new account after a hack or lost access, your own channels after a policy ban.
FAQ
Guide
Instagram account recovery means the real owner of an account using Meta’s official appeal and recovery routes in the right order. Meta always makes the final decision. My job is to diagnose your case correctly and help you complete the right form with complete documents. I also make sure you do not miss a deadline.
Here is what is possible and what is not:
If you live in the EU, you can still take the decision to a certified dispute body such as Appeals Centre Europe, which reviews decisions from the last six months. Its decision does not bind Meta. For a court route, talk to a lawyer.
I give no guarantee, because Meta alone decides. If an account broke the rules badly and the odds are low, I say so in the first call. This guide follows each case type through the route Meta describes in its own help pages. It also shows what I take on and where I stop.
“My account is gone” can describe five different situations, and each one has its own route:
If you see no disabled message at login, Meta names three likely causes: a login problem, someone else gaining access, or deletion. So diagnosis comes first. Taking a hacked account to the appeal screen only burns time, and the same goes for a policy case on the hacked form.
Impersonation is a separate track: we report an account that copies your brand through Instagram’s impersonation form, apart from your own appeal. Trademark papers help with exactly this report.
When Meta suspends an account, it tells the owner by email and on the login screen. It also states there whether you can appeal. The appeal starts when you log in and follow the steps on screen. There is no single fixed appeal form or secret link for everyone, so do not trust old form links shared on forums.
Timing matters, and the only number that counts is the one on your suspension screen. Write that date down at once. It is not always 180 days; the screen can show far less. Meta’s 180 days refers to Facebook accounts and varies by region. According to Meta, the account becomes permanently disabled if you miss the window or the appeal fails.
A good appeal is short, consistent and backed by evidence:
If Instagram removed individual posts, you can request a review from Account Status. Meta notes that a reply can take up to 90 days. After a second review, you can then take eligible content decisions to the Oversight Board within 15 days.
If you live in the EU, the Digital Services Act adds more routes. First, you can file a free internal complaint within six months. Second, certified out of court dispute bodies can review the decision even after Meta’s own process has ended. Appeals Centre Europe, for example, takes decisions from the last six months. However, its decisions do not bind the platform, and Appeals Centre Europe says it does not review hacked accounts or identity checks. Outside the EU, once Meta rejects the appeal and closes the review option, no route within Meta may remain. I will tell you that openly.
Speed matters in a hack, but the order matters more:
There is an honest limit here. According to Meta’s help page, Meta may be unable to give you access in one situation: you cannot open the registered email, and the account has no link to Facebook. So the first task is often not Instagram at all. You get your email account back through its provider, because Instagram cannot help with that part.
If your email runs on your own domain, the SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker reveals spoofing risks. I explain why a company address makes a difference in my business email guide.
Meta’s recovery and appeal tools are free. So why would you need a specialist? Because the problem is rarely the form itself. More often it is the wrong form in the wrong order, with missing documents and a story that contradicts itself. Every failed attempt can weaken the next one, and the clock keeps running.
In practice, this service covers five tasks.
What I do not do is just as clear. I do not log into your account for you, and I never pretend to speak for Meta. I have no contact at Meta and no special access. You submit everything from your own device, and I guide you by screen share or written steps. That said, if your case is simple enough to solve alone, I tell you openly.
I have managed brands’ ad and social media accounts since 2012, so I know restriction, review and support screens from years of hands-on use as an advertiser.
To confirm that an account is yours, Meta may ask for an ID, a photo or a video selfie. Instagram accepts, for example, a passport, a driving licence or an official ID card. If you have no photo ID of that kind, you can send two different documents whose names match exactly; at least one of them must show your photo and your age.
In the video selfie you turn your head in different directions. Meta states that the video never appears on Instagram and that it deletes it within 30 days. How long Meta keeps an ID depends on the purpose; Meta tells you before you upload it.
On my side the rule is simple: I do not ask for, look at or keep your ID. You upload it to Meta from your own device and pause screen sharing during ID, video selfie or code steps. We confirm ownership with other evidence, such as old emails from Instagram or ad payment records, showing only the part that matters. I delete any such document that reaches me within 30 days after the case closes. That follows the data minimisation and storage limitation principles of the GDPR (Article 5(1)(c) and (e)) and of Turkey’s KVKK.
I cover the same principles for websites in my GDPR compliant website guide.
Scammers target the moment right after a lockout, because someone who just lost an account is in a hurry and vulnerable. Instagram warns that phishing messages often threaten to ban or delete your account. Stop if you see any of these signs:
Instead, check genuine messages under “Recent emails” in Accounts Center. Instagram lists the security emails of the last 14 days there. Report suspicious messages to phish@instagram.com.
For the same reason I only work with the real owner. Unauthorised access to someone else’s account is a crime almost everywhere. For example, Turkey punishes it under Article 243 of its Penal Code, Germany under Section 202a StGB.
So I confirm ownership with evidence tied to the account itself: control of the registered email or phone, Instagram’s past emails to that address, ad payment records on the account and your own photos in it. Trademark papers do not prove who owns an account; they only help with an impersonation report. If the account is disputed, I do not work on it until a court decision or a written agreement between the parties settles who owns it.
For businesses the picture is more complex, because an Instagram account often connects to a business portfolio, an ad account and a Facebook Page. However, a restricted ad account and a disabled Instagram account are separate decisions with separate screens. Meta Business Support Home shows the status of your portfolio, ad accounts and Pages. Review requests and support contact also start there.
Meta Verified is a paid subscription that gives active subscribers chat and email support from human agents. Its scope covers general account access and security issues. Support also runs in several languages, including English, German and Turkish. Still, you should know three limits.
In short, Meta Verified is a precaution before a crisis, not a rescue ticket during one. The risk I see most often in businesses is a portfolio tied to one person’s account. When that person loses access, every ad asset can lock up too. So I recommend at least two trusted admins.
Not every case ends well. Sometimes Meta deletes an account for good, the appeal window passes or Meta rejects the appeal. Then the goal becomes limiting the damage and moving your business onto new ground. Plan B depends on why the account closed.
Keeping your brand consistent across channels is part of brand identity work. For a new profile text, the Instagram bio generator can give you ideas. You can see past work in my references.
A recovered account can slip away a second time without precautions. So on the first day we complete these steps together.
The second layer is continuity. Your Instagram account should never be the only door into your business. For example, a WhatsApp link gives customers a way in while the account is down. A website on your own domain and Google Ads campaigns for brand searches also limit the loss. While the account is down, customers search for you on Google, so your Business Profile and its reviews become your shop window. If you deal with reviews that break the rules, I explain the official routes on my Google review removal page.
My guide on handling a social media crisis explains what to tell followers during an outage. To describe your case, write to me. After the free intro call, I send you the open route, the deadline and the fee in writing.
