YouTube Money Calculator
Use this YouTube money calculator to estimate long-form, Shorts and live earnings from your monthly views, niche and audience countries. You get low, mid and high scenarios with US withholding, fan funding and current exchange rates, and we show the source of every rate. Free, no sign-up.
Don't know your monthly views? Work them out from recent videosworks for any channel
This calculator does not connect to YouTube. YouTube's terms only allow automated access for search engines or with written permission, so you enter the numbers yourself. Your channel's actual revenue is only visible in YouTube Studio.
Enter the channel's latest uploads in order, newest first, without skipping any. If YouTube says "3 weeks ago", type 3 and pick "weeks".
Income beyond adsmemberships, Super Chat, gifts, sponsors
Your RPM already includes ads, Premium, memberships and Super Chat, so we do not add them again. You can still add sponsorships.
Memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks are off on made for kids content, so fan funding is set to 0.
The YouTube Shopping affiliate program is not available in this tax country (29 September 2026).
Advanced settingsvideo length, ad rate, Shorts threshold
An estimate, not an official YouTube figure. Niche RPM is derived from AIR's measurement of 300 channels and the ratios of the MilX and Lenos ranges to the gaming niche; the low and high scenarios are AIR's quartile ratios. Your actual revenue is only visible in YouTube Studio.

Method, sources and freshness
Niche RPM is derived from the geometric mean of ratios to the gaming niche: AIR's medians, measured in the Studio data of 300 channels, and the MilX and Lenos ranges, whose method is undisclosed. Where only AIR measured a niche, the value is the AIR median itself, and table T2 shows the basis of every row. The low and high scenarios apply AIR's lower and upper quartile ratios for that niche. The audience country enters through country CPM ratios and the month through a seasonal index, and public view counts are converted to engaged views. You keep 55% on long-form, 45% of the Shorts pool and 70% of fan funding; RPM is already after that split, so the calculator never deducts it twice.

The scale is derived: $5.13 = AIR's US CPM of $14.67 ÷ (midpoint of MilX's estimated US RPM range, $6.575, ÷ AIR's all-niche median of $2.30). The ratios between countries are AIR's measured CPMs; the absolute scale rests on this single calibration, which is where G(US) = 2.860 comes from. (YT:K37, YT:K36, YT:K40)

What we could not verify
- There is no methodology-backed RPM or CPM source for viewers in Türkiye; the coefficient is derived from two sources without a disclosed method (low confidence).
- For Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia and the Philippines only sources without a disclosed method exist.
- YouTube does not say how many seconds make an engaged view; the conversion factor is a third-party measurement.
- Apple's fee on iOS purchases and the sales tax rate are not published, so the fee field is your own setting.
- The effective long-form share of the Premium pools (30% and 60%) is not calculated in the official text; RPM already includes Premium, so it is not modelled separately.
- Whether Google applies code 11 or code 12 in Canada, Italy, Austria, Greece and Iceland is not published.
- Local income tax, VAT and social security are outside this calculator.

How to use the YouTube Money Calculator
- Pick a mode
Choose Estimate, My RPM or Income goal at the top. If you know your Studio RPM, My RPM gives the most accurate result.
- Enter your monthly views
Type long-form and live views apart from Shorts. Then say whether the number is the public count or engaged views from Studio. For another channel, open the recent videos helper.
- Set your niche and audience countries
Enter the country percentages from Studio. Otherwise, pick a ready-made mix such as United States or English mix.
- Choose your tax country and currency
Mark whether your US tax info (W-8BEN) is on file in AdSense. Then pick dollars, pounds, euros, rupees or any other ECB currency.
- Read and share the result
Compare the low, mid and high scenarios and check the 12-month forecast. Finally, copy the link to share the same calculation.
YouTube earnings formulas
The calculator works in US dollars without rounding and rounds only on screen. The method section on this page lists the source of every coefficient.
E = public views ÷ D (long-form 1.30; Shorts 1.65); D = 1 if you enter engaged views from StudioRPM = R(niche) × G(audience mix) × S(month)Earnings = E ÷ 1,000 × RPME(Shorts) ÷ 1,000 × R(mid) × G × S × φ (mid 0.04; music 0.50)net amount × 0.70; 1 Ruby = $0.01US share of revenue × earnings × treaty rate (UK 0%, India 15%); up to 24% without tax infolong-form + Shorts + fan funding − withholding + sponsorshipsRPM is already your share, so 55% or 45% never comes off twice. Also, from 1 February 2027 Shorts earn nothing in a month below 10 million qualified views in 90 days.

Shorts pay far less for the same views. For example, 1 million Shorts views from a US audience earn about $159 in the mid scenario.
How does this YouTube money calculator estimate earnings?
This YouTube money calculator turns your monthly views into an earnings estimate. It keeps three income streams apart: long-form and live ads, the Shorts pool and fan funding. According to YouTube Help, creators keep 55% of net ad revenue on long-form videos. They also keep 45% of the Shorts revenue allocated to them and 70% of memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks.
RPM sits at the centre of the calculation. It is what you earn per 1,000 engaged views, after YouTube's share. The calculator builds your RPM from niche, audience countries and month. Then it shows a low, mid and high scenario. We show a range instead of one number because channels in the same niche can earn several times more or less.
The calculator never connects to YouTube and does not read channel links. YouTube's terms only allow automated access for search engines or with written permission. So you enter the numbers yourself. For your own channel, the best result comes from typing your Studio RPM into the My RPM mode. In addition, the Income goal mode works backwards and shows the views you need for a monthly target.
RPM vs CPM: how much do 1,000 YouTube views pay?
CPM is what an advertiser pays for 1,000 ad impressions. RPM is what you earn per 1,000 engaged views. It sits below CPM for two reasons. First, YouTube takes its share. Second, RPM also counts views that showed no ad. If you want to see the advertiser side, our CPM calculator starts from the ad budget instead.
AIR Media-Tech measured Studio data from 300 channels and found a median RPM of about $2.30 across all niches. For a US audience, our model puts 1,000 public long-form views at $2.42 to $9.88. The mid scenario lands at $5.06. On the other hand, a UK audience earns about $3,073 per million views, while an Indian audience earns about $255.
Advertiser demand explains the gap. Competition in the ad auction changes with country, niche and season. As a result, the same video can earn very different amounts. That is why the view ladder in the calculator recalculates 1,000, 100,000 and 1 million views with your own settings. It also converts the result into rupees, pounds or euros at the current ECB rate.
Why do Shorts pay differently from long videos?
On Shorts, ads run between videos rather than inside them. YouTube pools that ad revenue every month and sets aside the cost of music licensing. Then it shares the rest among creators by their share of engaged Shorts views in each country. You keep 45% of the amount allocated to you. However, using music does not halve your personal share; it shrinks the pool as a whole.
Measured data shows that Shorts RPM is only 3% to 14% of long-form RPM in the same niche. Music channels are the exception at 41% to 60%, thanks to Content ID. So the calculator never prices Shorts at the long-form RPM.
The counter is the second difference. Since 24 August 2026 the public counter counts every play, but earnings still use engaged views. An independent study found that public Shorts counts run about 65% above engaged views. For long-form, the gap is about 30%. In addition, from 1 February 2027 the Shorts pool requires 10 million qualified views in 90 days. The calculator checks that rule month by month.
How do audience country and niche change your RPM?
Audience country can move earnings more than niche does. In AIR's table of more than 3,000 channels, country CPM is $14.67 in the US. It falls to $0.74 in India and $0.48 in Yemen, a gap of about 30 times. So the calculator uses your country percentages from Studio instead of a single country. If you are still mapping your viewers, our guide on how to do a target audience analysis is a good start.
On the niche side, AIR reports a median RPM of $10.22 for education and $0.33 for kids content. The calculator does not use every median as is: where AIR conflicts with other sources, as in education and finance, it balances the mid value with MilX and Lenos ratios, so education uses $6.23. However, the spread inside one niche is just as large. Top earners make 3 to 8 times more than the weakest channels. Therefore, the calculator uses the lower and upper quartile of each niche as its low and high scenarios.
Some markets rest on thin data. For example, there is no methodology-backed source for viewers in Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, the Philippines or Türkiye. The calculator flags those mixes with a low confidence badge and a wider range.
Why doesn't the YouTube money calculator read channel links?
Pasting a channel link sounds convenient, yet we chose not to build the YouTube money calculator that way. YouTube's robots.txt closes the channel feed to all bots. Its terms of service also allow automated access only for public search engines or with prior written permission. Moreover, the YouTube API policies forbid using API data to infer or project a channel's financial performance.
Instead, we offer a compliant helper. You type the views and age of the channel's latest uploads yourself. The calculator then works out the upload rate and the median views of mature videos. After that, it estimates monthly views as uploads per month × typical views per video. A viral hit or a new upload rhythm can throw the estimate off, and the helper says so.
If you want to measure accounts on other platforms, our Instagram engagement rate calculator takes the same honest approach. Your channel's actual revenue is only visible in YouTube Studio. In short, only Studio data closes the gap between an estimate and real earnings.
What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements, and what changes for Shorts?
Today there are two tiers. Expanded YPP needs 500 subscribers and 3 public uploads in the last 90 days. It also needs 3,000 watch hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days. This tier unlocks memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks, gifts and shopping. Full YPP adds ad and Premium revenue and needs 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 hours or 10 million Shorts views.
YouTube announced two changes on 10 August 2026. First, from 1 February 2027 new applicants need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 hours in 365 days. The alternative is 20 million Shorts views in 90 days, and channels already in YPP keep their status. Second, a monthly share of the Shorts pool requires 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.
A channel below that line stays in YPP and keeps its long-form earnings. Only that month's Shorts pool share drops to zero. The eligibility card in the calculator compares your subscribers, watch hours, Shorts views and uploads with both rule sets. Also remember that watch hours from Shorts in the Shorts feed do not count toward the 4,000 hours.
How much tax does YouTube withhold from your earnings?
For creators outside the US, YouTube withholds tax on earnings from US viewers. Without tax info, it can withhold up to 24% of your worldwide earnings. With tax info and no treaty, the rate is 30% of US earnings. With a treaty, a lower rate applies. For example, IRS Table 1 lists 0% for the UK and Germany and 15% for India.
The key point is that withholding follows the US share of revenue, not the US share of views. US views earn so much more that a small US audience can make up a large slice of revenue. In the English finance example above, 60% US views produce about 78% of revenue. The calculator derives that share from your audience mix. To convert the result, our euro converter uses the same ECB rates.
This is not tax advice. Income tax in your own country, VAT and self-employment rules sit outside the calculator. Also, Google does not say which treaty column it applies for Canada and Italy. So the calculator adds a note for those countries.
How do YouTubers make money beyond ads?
Ads are only part of the picture. You keep 70% of channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks. Gifts pay $0.01 per Ruby, and 2 Jewels make 1 Ruby. YouTube does not publish Apple's App Store fee or the sales tax on iOS purchases, so you set that deduction yourself. The Shopping affiliate program runs in the US, India and a dozen other markets, but not in the UK.
For many channels, brand deals bring in the most money. The calculator keeps sponsorships on their own line because a brand's payment sits outside YouTube's withholding. Talha Aslan and the team connect brands with the right creators through influencer marketing. We also help channels grow with social media management.
If you stream, the platform matters too. Our Kick earnings calculator puts Kick, Twitch and YouTube Live side by side for the same audience. And when you plan growth, our article on organic growth or paid ads helps you decide where to invest.
When does YouTube pay you, and what is the payment threshold?
The threshold depends on your currency: $100, 70 euros, 60 pounds or 200 Turkish lira. Last month's finalised earnings post to your balance between the 7th and the 12th. If the balance reaches the threshold by the 20th, payment goes out between the 21st and the 26th. Otherwise, it carries over to the next month. A bank transfer can then take up to 7 business days.
November earnings, for example, pay out between 21 and 26 December. The 12-month forecast in the calculator simulates this schedule in your payment currency. It shows which months pay out and which months carry the balance forward. That matters most for small channels, because crossing $100 may take a few months.
The estimated revenue in Studio can differ from what you receive. YouTube adjusts earnings for invalid traffic, copyright claims and some campaign types. In addition, withholding comes off at payment. So treat the calculator as a planning tool and check your AdSense balance for the exact amount.
