In short

Web design in Sanliurfa has to serve three readers at once: foreign visitors drawn by Göbekli Tepe, buyers of the province's cotton and a very young local market. According to TÜİK, Sanliurfa had Turkey's youngest population in 2024, with a median age of 21.4. Talha Aslan and team run these projects online with a written scope, and the languages are chosen by who actually reads the site.

Sanliurfa's business profile

Why does a website in Sanliurfa work differently?

Official Turkish data shows Sanliurfa has the youngest population in the country. Add world heritage tourism, cotton farming and trade with Syria, and a website here has four distinct jobs.

Provinces with the youngest population, median age (2024)TÜİK 2024 population statistics (as reported by Forbes Türkiye); Turkey's median age 34.4
  • Sanliurfa21.4
  • Sirnak23
  • Agri24.5

Youngest population, a mobile market

TÜİK reports that Sanliurfa was Turkey's youngest province in 2024, with a median age of 21.4 against a national figure of 34.4. Local customers are young and mobile first; partners from abroad should expect simple, fast sites and WhatsApp as the main contact channel.

Göbekli Tepe and heritage travel

Göbekli Tepe was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018, and Harran and Sanliurfa are on Turkey's Tentative List. Tour operators and travellers abroad search these names together with Balıklıgöl and Halfeti, so local hotels and guides need pages in the visitor's language with honest photos and directions.

The Harran Plain and cotton

Irrigated by the GAP project, the Harran Plain has made Sanliurfa Turkey's leading cotton province; academics at Harran University put its share of national output above 40 percent. Spinners and textile buyers expect ginners and growers to show capacity, quality and a named contact online.

Industry and the Akçakale border gate

Sanliurfa's organised industrial zone ranks among Turkey's ten largest by area and hosts around 250 firms. In 2026, members of the local chamber trading with Syria through the Akçakale customs gate were given passport free crossing, which makes Arabic product pages a practical need for exporters.

How we work

Sanliurfa projects run entirely online

We have no office in Sanliurfa and say so up front. Whether you run a hotel by Balıklıgöl or buy cotton from abroad, discovery happens on a video call, the scope and schedule go into a written quote, and you comment on the design directly in your browser while progress shows in our CRM. If you pass through Istanbul, we are happy to meet at our Ataşehir office by appointment.

Talha Aslan sets the strategy; an experienced team handles design, development and content. In Sanliurfa we start every project with one question: who opens this site most often, a traveller, a wholesale buyer or a young local customer? The order of pages, the languages and the contact buttons all follow from that answer.

  • Discovery call by video, in English or Turkish
  • Scope, schedule and owners in a written quote
  • Review the design live on your own phone
  • No code before the design is approved
  • Handover, panel training and support

  2. Design approval

The home page and key templates come to you as designs first; no code is written before your approval. We do not like surprises, and we do not cause them.

  3. Development

The approved design becomes fast, secure, maintainable code. You follow progress in the CRM and see every page in a staging environment before launch.

  4. Launch and measurement

In-depth guide

Web Design Sanliurfa: Sites for Heritage Travel, Cotton and Trade

Talha Aslan and teamLast updated: 15 min read

This guide is for two kinds of readers. The first runs a business in Sanliurfa, a stone mansion hotel near Balıklıgöl, a cotton gin on the Harran Plain or a haulage firm working through Akçakale, and wants a site that also convinces people abroad. The second sits abroad, a tour operator planning Göbekli Tepe departures, a textile buyer or an investor, and needs a local partner whose website can be trusted at first glance.

Below, Talha Aslan and team walk through web design for Sanliurfa in the order the decisions actually arrive. Each section gives you a checklist, a question for any agency or a concrete step.

The Four Jobs a Website Does in Sanliurfa

A website in Sanliurfa has to show, on the first screen, which of the province's four strengths the business stands on: a very young market, world heritage, cotton and farm produce, or cross border trade.

  • A young, mobile market: TÜİK's 2024 population figures made Sanliurfa Turkey's youngest province, with a median age of 21.4. Local customers arrive on phones, mostly from social media, and expect a page that loads quickly and a WhatsApp button they can tap.
  • Heritage travel: Göbekli Tepe was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018, and Harran and Sanliurfa sit on Turkey's Tentative List. These are the names travelers type before they ever see your hotel's name.
  • Cotton and produce: Academics at Harran University put the province's share of Turkish cotton output above 40 percent. Buyers expect growers and ginners to show capacity, quality and a named contact.
  • Industry and border trade: The organized industrial zone ranks among Turkey's ten largest by area and hosts around 250 firms, while the Akçakale customs gate is the main door for trade with Syria.

Before talking to any agency, write down which of the four brings your revenue; that answer sets the homepage opening line, the menu order and the default language.

Who Searches, With Which Words, and When

Search behavior around Sanliurfa shifts with the season and with who is looking, so page planning works better with a calendar than with a sitemap alone. In one month you can receive a course inquiry, a tour request and a sample request for cotton lint.

  • Local young adults: Searches that carry a district name, such as an English course in Haliliye or a gym in Karaköprü, almost always on a phone and in Turkish. They cluster before the school year and during the summer break.
  • International travelers: Queries like "hotel near Göbekli Tepe", "Halfeti boat trip" or "where to stay in Sanliurfa old town". Hot summers push most trips into spring and fall.
  • Trade buyers: Searches for Harran cotton, ginning capacity, Urfa pepper wholesale or pistachio suppliers, often without the city name at all. Cotton buyers are most active around the fall harvest.
  • Verification: A foreign partner who received your quotation types your company name into Google. A dead number or an outdated page weakens the offer before anyone reads it.

List the WhatsApp messages and calls of the last six months by month and sender type; the pattern shows which page must go live first. If tour operators write in January to plan April groups, your English rooms page has to be finished before January, not before April.

Hiring a Team Based Outside the Province

All of our work with Sanliurfa businesses and their foreign partners runs online, so the useful test is not distance but how clearly a team documents its process. Written scope, video calls and a live tracking screen replace the meeting room.

Put these questions to every agency on your shortlist and ask for written answers:

  • Scope: Which pages, languages and integrations are included, and how would an Arabic version added later be priced?
  • Contact person: Who will you speak to throughout, and can that person explain a hosting or plugin decision in plain words?
  • Approval points: When do you see the design, and is any code written before you approve it?
  • Live proof: Which published sites in hospitality, agriculture or education can you open on your own phone right now?
  • After launch: Who changes a photo or adds a product once the site is live, and how quickly?

Insist on live addresses rather than screenshots. Our own published work is on the references page; none of it is in Sanliurfa, but the hotels, the livestock business, the kindergarten and the logistics firm there are close to what this province needs.

Domain, Hosting and Accounts in the Business's Name

Every asset tied to the site, from the domain to the WhatsApp Business number, should be registered to the business itself. In Sanliurfa many sites were first built by a relative or a friend of the family, and when that person moves on, the passwords often leave with them.

On handover day, go through this list together and tick each item:

  • Domain: The registrant field shows the company's legal name, and renewal notices go to a shared company mailbox rather than to one employee.
  • Hosting: You hold full administrator access to the hosting panel and have a one page note on where backups live and how a restore works.
  • Files and licenses: Source files and the database can be handed over on request, and the owner of every paid plugin license is written down.
  • Analytics and maps: Search Console, GA4 and the Google Business Profile are created under the company's own Google account; the agency only gets user rights.
  • Messaging: The WhatsApp button points to the business line, never to a staff member's personal phone.

That last item matters more here than in most places, because a large share of inquiries arrive as messages. A personal number leaves with the employee, and so does the customer history.

From First Video Call to Launch

What makes a remote project fast is a fixed order of steps and a clear record of who approved what. Our route with Sanliurfa projects:

  1. Discovery call: On video or by phone we listen to how the business works, who buys and how they get in touch.
  2. Written proposal: Pages, languages, responsibilities and dates are set out in one document; work begins once you sign it.
  3. Material list: We list the photos, documents and texts we need from you. For photo shoots we specify time of day and angles in writing.
  4. Design review: You open the design live on your own phone and leave comments directly on the element in question; nothing is coded before approval.
  5. Testing: The build is checked on several phone brands, on a deliberately throttled connection and with real form submissions.
  6. Launch and handover: After going live, we share a screen with you and change a photo and add a product together.

Every stage is visible in our CRM. If you would rather meet in person, we can see you by appointment at our office in Ataşehir, Istanbul, whenever you are in the city; it is an option, not a requirement.

Local Search From Haliliye to Siverek

Appearing on the map depends on your Google Business Profile and your website stating the same facts in the same way. The profile gets you into the local results; the website is where the person who clicked is persuaded.

Google's guidelines require the profile name to match the name you use in the real world, with no keywords added. A name like "Hotel X Göbekli Tepe Cheap Rooms Old Town" can catch the eye for a few weeks and then get the profile suspended. A technician who visits customers may hide the street address and list service areas instead.

For district searches we work with four rules:

  • Center versus towns: The city center is split into Haliliye, Eyyübiye and Karaköprü, and residents search by those names. Say clearly which of them you serve.
  • Outlying districts: In Siverek, Viranşehir, Birecik, Suruç or Ceylanpınar people search with the district name. If you really go there, state the service day and travel time.
  • No doorway pages: Thirteen near identical pages where only the district name changes are what Google treats as low value. A separate page needs genuinely local content.
  • Consistent details: Business name, address and phone number read exactly the same on the site, the profile and business directories.

If you want local and industry searches planned together, our SEO service covers both.

Arabic, English or German: When a Second Language Pays

A second language is worth the effort only when real people write to you or search for you in it, and in Sanliurfa that audience differs sharply by sector. Count the languages of incoming messages and bookings rather than guessing.

  • Arabic: The natural choice for firms shipping to Syria or Iraq through Akçakale. In 2026, members of the Sanliurfa chamber of commerce and industry trading with Syria were given passport free crossing at Akçakale; as buyer relationships deepen, Arabic product pages speed up trust.
  • English: Travelers and tour operators coming for Göbekli Tepe and Karahantepe mostly read English. For hotels, guides and restaurants it is usually the first added language.
  • German: Worth considering for cultural tour groups from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and for families from the province living there who support a business back home; build it only once demand shows.

Arabic runs right to left, so it needs its own layout: the menu, forms and icons are mirrored. Have a native speaker who knows your trade check it before launch.

Technically, each language lives at its own address. hreflang annotations tell Google which page belongs to which language, and every version must point to all the others and to itself. Once you go beyond two languages, structure has to be planned from the start; our page on the multilingual website explains how.

Speed on Weak Connections, Hosting and Security

Most visits in Sanliurfa come over mobile data, so speed is a basic requirement rather than a refinement. A traveler checking your page on the road to Harran or at the Halfeti pier goes back to the results if nothing readable appears within a few seconds.

We measure against Google's Core Web Vitals, aiming for these values in at least three out of four visits: LCP, the time until the largest element on screen appears, at 2.5 seconds or less; INP, how fast the page reacts after a tap, at 200 milliseconds or less; CLS, how much text and buttons jump around while loading, at 0.1 or less.

Three habits break these values most often on sites from the province:

  • Heavy landscape photos: Instead of uploading a Göbekli Tepe or Halfeti shot straight from the camera, compress it to WebP and serve sizes that match the screen.
  • Autoplay video: Replace a homepage video with sound by a cover image that starts the video only when tapped.
  • Plugin clutter: Remove unused sliders, counters and social feeds that load on every page.

On security, every page runs over SSL, one named person is responsible in writing for software updates and backups are stored away from the server. You can check how your current site behaves on a phone with our mobile friendly test and bring the result to the first call.

Page Structures for Sanliurfa's Typical Businesses

The sector decides which pages carry the site. The examples below are not client cases; they are general structures we suggest for business types that are common in the province.

  • Stone mansion or boutique hotel: Each room gets its own page with daylight photos and the room size. Walking time to Balıklıgöl and how to reach Göbekli Tepe sit on a separate, honest page. The room and inquiry flow is covered on our hotel website page.
  • Cotton gin or grower: Fiber properties, seasonal capacity, shipping details and the sales contact on one page, plus any lab report as a download.
  • Isot pepper and pistachio producer: Wholesale buyers see packaging options and a sample request form; retail customers see the product story and how to order. Producers can read more on the farm business website page.
  • Haulage and trading firm: Routes, vehicle types and the list of documents you provide appear in Turkish and Arabic, with a direct line for trade inquiries.
  • Course center or private school: A page dedicated to the enrollment period, a two field pre registration form and a WhatsApp button; see the course center website page.

Health businesses follow different rules: Turkey's regulation on promotion in health services bans advertising and price or campaign information, so a clinic site must stay informative.

KVKK, Cookie Consent and Selling Online

Your forms, cookies and way of selling decide which legal texts the site needs; they must be in place before launch and describe what you really do.

  • Privacy notice: Article 10 of Turkey's data protection law, KVKK (Law No. 6698), requires an information notice wherever you collect personal data, including a room inquiry form or a course pre registration form.
  • Health data: On clinic sites, health data is special category personal data; an appointment form should ask only for what is needed to get in touch.
  • Visitors from Europe: A hotel that markets to guests in the EU should expect consent to be needed before non essential tracking; Google also requires consent mode for measurement and personalized ads for users in the European Economic Area.
  • Distance sales: A site that sells isot, pistachios or other regional food online must give consumers pre contract information, a distance sales contract and information on the fourteen day right of withdrawal; check the exceptions for perishable goods with your lawyer.

The legal content of these texts is your responsibility or your lawyer's. Our part is to place them next to the forms they belong to, readable on a phone and correctly linked.

Redesigning Without Losing Search Visibility

When an older site is replaced, the biggest risk is changing the addresses Google already knows without a plan. A mansion hotel whose "how to get to Göbekli Tepe" article has drawn visitors for years can lose its strongest entry point overnight if that address disappears.

We move sites in four steps:

  1. Inventory: List every address on the old site, the pages that receive clicks according to Search Console and the pages that other sites link to.
  2. Mapping: Pair each old address with its closest equivalent on the new site; never send everything to the homepage.
  3. Permanent redirects: Turn the map into 301 redirects, which tell browsers and Google that a page has moved for good.
  4. Monitoring: In the weeks after launch, read the error reports in Search Console and redirect any address that slipped through.

Blocking a staging site in robots.txt is a common habit but not enough on its own. Google cannot read a noindex tag on a page it is blocked from crawling, so a page that must stay out of the index has to be crawlable and carry noindex. Password protection is the safer choice for a test site.

You can upload both address lists to our redirect mapping tool to spot gaps before launch. Update the Instagram bio link and brochure QR codes as well.

Common Mistakes on Sanliurfa Business Sites

Most problems on sites from the province have little to do with colors or fonts; they come from not deciding who the site is for. These are the six most common, each with a better alternative:

  1. Relying on Instagram alone: Instead of a social profile as the only presence, build a simple site that search engines can find and that holds your details in one place; use Instagram to send people there.
  2. Dark room photos: Instead of evening shots under yellow light, photograph rooms in daylight, with a wide angle and the clutter cleared away.
  3. Machine translated Arabic: Instead of plugin generated Arabic pages, publish fewer pages checked by a native speaker.
  4. A personal number as the contact: Instead of the owner's mobile, use the business WhatsApp line and state the hours you answer.
  5. Vague product claims: Instead of "high quality cotton", state the fiber properties, the season and any lab report you hold.
  6. Launching blind: Instead of adding analytics months later, track WhatsApp taps, calls and form submissions as separate conversions from day one.

If you recognize two or three of these, check which ones new text and photos would solve before deciding on a full redesign.

What Shapes the Scope of a Sanliurfa Project

Our prices do not change by province; a mansion in Sanliurfa and a hotel in Istanbul choose from the same packages, and only the scope moves a quote up or down. For web design in Sanliurfa, these decisions shape that scope most:

  • Number of pages: A separate page for every room, product or course adds writing and design work; fewer but fuller pages are enough for most businesses at the start.
  • Languages: An Arabic version takes more design and testing than a second Latin script language, because of the mirrored layout.
  • Photography: A professional shoot is planned separately; working with existing photos is possible but directly affects the result.
  • Online sales: Cart, payment and shipping flows are a separate line of work beyond a presentation site.
  • Integrations: Connecting a booking channel, a CRM or accounting software widens the scope.

To balance the budget, start with the audience that brings revenue fastest: a mansion hotel might launch with Turkish and English room pages and add Arabic once incoming messages show the need. If that order is written into the first proposal, the second phase holds no surprises.

The First 90 Days and Your Next Step

A site is not finished on launch day; the first 90 days show which pages really bring customers. We divide that period roughly like this:

  1. Month one: Technical errors in Search Console and GA4 are fixed, and the hours, address and photos on the map profile are compared with the site once more.
  2. Month two: Pages that are read are compared with pages that trigger WhatsApp messages; short answers and new photos are added where questions go unanswered.
  3. Month three: New content follows the seasons: the transport page before travel season, product pages before harvest, enrollment pages before the school year.

To decide, answer three questions for your own business: who do you mainly work for, in which languages do messages arrive, and which photos and documents are ready today. Bring your current site address, a few typical messages and two competitor sites to the first call; that is enough to turn half an hour into a concrete plan.

You can see our fixed packages and what they include under web design pricing. To arrange a short discovery call about your Sanliurfa business or your partner there, get in touch with us; after the call we send a written, itemized scope.
