This guide is for companies in Offenbach that plan a new website or want to replace an old one: leather goods brands that exhibit at ILM, design studios, suppliers to the industrial firms on the Innovationscampus, international teams in the Kaiserlei offices, and founders who have moved to the Rhine Main region. Whether a web design Offenbach project works depends less on colors than on four early answers: who the site must reach, in which languages, with which mandatory German pages, and in whose name the domain and accounts sit.
The fourteen sections follow the real course of a project, from goals and partner choice to the first months after launch. Each one gives you a test, a criterion or a question you can put to any agency, including us, Talha Aslan and team.
01What a Website Has to Do in Offenbach's Economy
A website in Offenbach has to win trust from two directions at once: from the city's own customers and from buyers across the river in Frankfurt and the wider Rhine Main region. According to Hesse's state statistics office, Offenbach's economic output grew 6.5% in nominal terms in 2024, ahead of Darmstadt at 4.8% and Frankfurt at 4.7%. A growing city brings new companies, new staff and new customers, and almost all of them search before they call.
With 132,746 residents at the end of 2024 (Destatis), Offenbach is compact enough that recommendations travel fast. Yet every recommendation still ends with someone opening your site, and that check should take seconds: what you do, for whom, and how to reach you.
Before any design work, write down which job the site does first. In Offenbach it is usually one or two of these:
- Trade buyers: a retail chain you met at ILM browses the current collection, requests a catalog and reads your delivery terms without a phone call.
- Corporate procurement: purchasing teams around the Innovationscampus or Kaiserlei find certificates, references and your service area in German and English.
- Neighborhood customers: someone in Bürgel or Tempelsee reaches your hours, directions and phone number in two taps.
- Hiring: a growing team collects its openings and a short application path on one page.
The order you choose shapes the menu, the first screen on mobile and what you measure later. The top task gets the top of the homepage; the second sits directly below it.
02Search Intent in Offenbach: Districts, Fair Season, English
The words people type in Offenbach reveal what they want, and each kind of query calls for a different page type. Because the city is a patchwork of close knit districts, many searches name a Stadtteil or simply add "in der Nähe" (nearby) instead of the city.
- District and proximity: "Physiotherapie Westend Offenbach" or "Schlüsseldienst Bieber". Map listings lead these results; your page needs an address, opening hours and a number people can tap.
- Region wide services: "IT Service Offenbach Frankfurt" or "Gebäudereinigung Kreis Offenbach". A service page that names your whole service area answers them.
- Fair season: before and after each ILM edition, buyers search brand names and collection terms; season pages should be live before the fair opens.
- English queries: international staff search for things like "English speaking dentist Offenbach" or "relocation help Frankfurt area"; an English page catches them.
Try it yourself on your phone: search for your service together with your district, then together with "Frankfurt". Write down which firms appear in both cases and whether map listings, industry portals or company websites lead the page.
The same applies when you look for an agency. Typing "web design Offenbach" mostly shows studios based in the city; how much an agency's location actually matters is the subject of the next section.
03Choosing a Partner Outside Germany: What to Ask
Working with an agency that has no office in Offenbach goes well when agreements are written down, progress is visible and the people are easy to reach; distance itself decides little. Talha Aslan and team work from Istanbul, and projects in Germany run fully online. Istanbul is one hour ahead of Offenbach in summer and two hours in winter, so business hours overlap for most of the day.
We have not completed a project in Germany yet; our live work is in Türkiye and you can review it on our references page. Whether you compare local studios or web design Offenbach offers from abroad, ask every agency the same questions and get the answers in writing:
- Calls: who leads the video calls, in which language, and is every decision put in writing afterwards?
- Scope: does the quote list pages, languages, forms and who supplies the legal texts, item by item?
- Live preview: can you open the design on your own phone at a staging address instead of judging screenshots?
- Visibility: can you see the current project stage yourself in a CRM or project board?
- Support: where do you report a bug after launch, and what response time is promised in writing?
For an international company, check one more thing. The agency must write German confidently and understand German legal duties, even if your own team works in English; a short German sample text requested in the first call settles the question quickly.
04Owning Your Domain, Hosting, Code and Accounts
Every core asset of the site should be registered to your company, with the agency added only as an authorized user. That is what keeps your site running if you change agencies or bring the work in house.
- Domain: register the .de domain through a registrar in your company's name; the holder field should show your business, never the agency.
- Hosting: choose a server inside the EU, ideally in Germany, with the contract and invoices in your name.
- Code and content: at handover you receive the theme, plugins, custom code and usage rights for all images.
- Accounts: Google Business Profile, Search Console, Analytics and any ad account live under your own Google account; the agency gets manager access.
- E-mail: addresses run on your own domain, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC records set correctly so offers to buyers do not land in spam.
For the German subsidiary of an international group, one extra point matters: decide early whether the domain sits with the German entity or with headquarters abroad, and document it. Split ownership slows down every later change, from a new language to a legal update.
On handover day, ask for an access sheet listing each service, its login address, owner and renewal date in one document. It takes an hour to prepare and saves many more when a colleague takes over.
05From Kickoff to Launch, Fully Online
The process is built so that each step leaves a written result behind and nobody has to remember what was said on a call. A typical web design Offenbach project runs like this:
- Kickoff call: a 15 minute video call on audiences, languages and the three pages that matter most.
- Written scope: page plan, form fields, language order and the source of the legal texts are fixed in the quote.
- Content collection: photos, product data and Impressum details go into a shared folder, with gaps marked on a checklist.
- Design and preview: the first draft opens on a staging address; we review it together by screen share and log every change request.
- Launch: the domain is connected, redirects and cookie consent are tested, and the sitemap is submitted in Search Console.
- Training: a short video session shows your team how to update texts, images and collections.
Each stage is visible in our CRM, including the moments when a step waits for input from your side. Calls run in English or German, and every agreement ends up in writing.
If you travel to Istanbul and would like to meet in person, our office in Ataşehir is open to you; it is entirely optional, and no step of an Offenbach project depends on it. All decisions are made on screen.
06Local SEO Across Offenbach's Districts
Local visibility starts with a Google Business Profile that matches your website detail for detail. The business name must be your real world name without added keywords; if you only serve customers at their location, you can hide your address and define a service area instead.
- Real district names: on service pages, name the places you actually serve, such as the Innenstadt, Nordend, Mathildenviertel, Rosenhöhe or Rumpenheim, plus towns in Kreis Offenbach like Dreieich or Heusenstamm.
- German directories: keep name, address and phone identical on Gelbe Seiten, Das Örtliche and the platforms of your trade; B2B suppliers add Wer liefert was.
- Reviews: send a short review link after each job and reply calmly in the language the review was written in.
- Photos: current images of your entrance, team and work keep the profile credible.
Avoid doorway pages, meaning separate pages for every district or neighboring town with the same text and only the name swapped; Google treats them as low value. One strong service page with a concrete service area paragraph does more, and if Frankfurt customers matter, say so on that same page. For how people search on the other side of the river, see our web design page for Frankfurt.
Review calls and direction requests from the profile once a month. They show which districts actually send customers, and they tell you where photos or reviews need attention.
07Languages: German First, Then English or Turkish
German is the base language for any site in Offenbach, because customers, partners and authorities read you in German first. English pays off when it serves a real audience, and Turkish when a meaningful share of your customers prefer it.
- English: for leather goods brands meeting international buyers at ILM, suppliers to global firms in Kaiserlei, and practices whose patients work for international employers in Frankfurt.
- Turkish: for insurance, real estate, travel and accounting services whose clients include Offenbach's Turkish speaking community.
- German only: for a neighborhood business whose customers are comfortable in German; every extra language needs ongoing care.
Each language belongs on its own URLs with its own pages; a translation widget does not give search engines a separate page to index. The versions must point to each other with hreflang annotations, each version referencing the others and itself. Our hreflang generator produces the tags for you to check.
A second language does not need to be a word for word copy. An English page for trade buyers can focus on collections, minimum orders and contact persons, while the legal texts stay in German and remain reachable from every version. Write into the scope which pages each language gets.
08Heavy Images, EU Servers and Security
A site that loads fast on a phone wins the customer who searches on the move, and Google measures this with three Core Web Vitals. Staying within these limits for 75% of real visits counts as "good":
- LCP (largest contentful paint, how fast the main element loads): 2.5 seconds or less.
- INP (interaction to next paint, how fast the page reacts to a tap): 200 milliseconds or less.
- CLS (cumulative layout shift, how much content jumps while loading): 0.1 or less.
Offenbach has a particular reason to care. Leather goods brands and design studios rely on large product and portfolio images, and visitors with design training notice blurry or sluggish pictures at once. Serving images as WebP or AVIF, in sizes matched to the screen, and lazy loading everything below the first screen keeps quality high and weight low.
Host inside the EU, preferably in Germany. Load fonts from your own server instead of Google's; on 20 January 2022 the Munich Regional Court (LG München I) awarded damages over Google Fonts loaded without consent. An SSL certificate, updated software, daily backups stored off the server and strong admin passwords form the security baseline.
Before launch, open the site on a phone over mobile data and submit one form. Impressions formed on fast office broadband are misleading.
09Sector Examples Rooted in Offenbach
Offenbach's economy produces site types that rarely appear in the same mix elsewhere in Hesse. Here are the strongest ones and what each needs:
- Leather goods and accessories: season collections, product pages with article numbers, a stockist list and an enquiry form reserved for the trade, in German and English. Our catalog website page explains the structure.
- Industrial suppliers: firms providing maintenance, installation or logistics to SAMSON's new headquarters on the Innovationscampus or to Danfoss in Kaiserlei need certificates, safety credentials and a fast quote form; see our website for industrial companies.
- Biotech and laboratory services: companies such as BioSpring, named in the city's economic development report, set a high bar for precise technical pages; their suppliers need clear specifications and downloadable quality documents.
- Design studios and makers: HfG graduates who set up in the Nordend or the harbor quarter need portfolio pages that load fast and case studies that explain the brief.
- Trades and practices in the districts: service pages, tap to call, consultation hours and a clearly named catchment such as Buchhügel and Waldheim.
What links these examples is a defined next step on every page: trade enquiry, quote request, appointment or call. A page that leads to none of them needs a sharper purpose or should go.
10Legal Basics for a Website in Germany
Every business site aimed at German customers follows German and EU rules, whatever language your team works in. These are the core duties; have the actual texts reviewed by a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt):
- Impressum: required for business websites under § 5 DDG (Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz, which replaced the TMG in May 2024): name, address, contact and register details; regulated professions also list their chamber, legal job title and professional rules.
- Privacy policy: a Datenschutzerklärung under the GDPR (DSGVO) as soon as personal data is processed, for example through a contact form.
- Cookie consent: under § 25 TDDDG, non essential cookies and tracking run only after consent; Google also requires consent mode for measurement and personalized ads for users in the EEA.
- Processing agreements: hosting, booking and analytics providers need a contract under Art. 28 DSGVO.
- Online shops: the order button must say something unambiguous like "zahlungspflichtig bestellen" (§ 312j BGB, known as the Button Lösung), and consumers get a withdrawal notice (Widerrufsbelehrung).
Since 28 June 2025, the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) has set accessibility requirements for many consumer facing online shops and services. Micro enterprises offering services, with fewer than 10 staff and no more than 2 million euros in turnover or balance sheet total, are exempt; check whether it applies to you. If you plan to sell online, our e-commerce service covers checkout and order flows in detail.
11Relaunch Without Losing Rankings
If your current site already ranks, the biggest risk in a relaunch is losing old URLs. You prevent that by pointing each old address to its closest new page with a 301 redirect.
- Inventory: list every old URL, the pages with the most clicks in Search Console and the pages that earn external links.
- Mapping: match each old URL to the nearest new page by content and never send everything to the homepage; our redirect mapping tool speeds this up.
- Staging: keep the new site closed to search engines while it sits on the test address, and lift that block at launch.
- Launch day: test redirects one by one, submit the new sitemap and update the link in your Google Business Profile.
- Monitoring: check the page indexing and 404 reports in Search Console weekly for the first month.
One technical trap: to remove a page from Google's index, do not block it in robots.txt. Google cannot read a noindex tag on a blocked page; the page must stay crawlable and carry noindex.
Brands that publish a new collection each season can redirect retired season URLs to a collection archive. A buyer clicking an old link in a follow up message from last year's ILM then lands on something useful instead of an error page.
12Common Mistakes on Offenbach Business Sites
These are the mistakes a web design Offenbach brief should rule out from the start, because they cost the most in a bilingual market right next to Frankfurt. Each comes with a better route:
- English only: an international team builds the site in English, and German customers and authorities find neither a German Impressum nor German service texts. Build the German core pages first and run English alongside.
- A copied Impressum: details lifted from a parent company or a template, outdated or incomplete. Write it for the German entity and have a lawyer review it.
- Tracking before consent: a cookie banner appears, yet Analytics or a pixel fires before the click. Tie every tag to the consent tool and test it in the browser's developer tools.
- A vague service area: customers in Frankfurt, Mühlheim or Rodgau cannot tell whether you serve them. State the area in one clear paragraph and match it in your profile.
- Collections updated after the fair: business cards handed out at ILM lead to a site still showing last season. Publish season pages a few weeks before the fair.
- Heavy portfolio images: a studio site that looks great on a fast office line but crawls on a phone. Compress images and watch the Core Web Vitals report.
Mark each item against your current site. If two or more apply, a relaunch is worth planning.
13What Moves the Budget Up or Down
Scope, not location, sets the cost: web design Offenbach projects are priced the same way as projects of the same scope in any other city. These factors move a quote:
- Number of languages: each one adds pages, texts and upkeep; you can start with German and English and add Turkish later.
- Catalog size: a collection with hundreds of products needs a different structure from a consultancy with five service pages.
- Features: online booking, a trade buyer login, a quote configurator or online payment each require their own build and testing.
- Content: whether your team supplies texts and photos, or we write the copy.
- Integrations: connections to inventory, ERP or CRM systems, often those used by a parent company.
Write your own answer to each of these five points before you ask for quotes; only then can offers from different agencies be compared like for like. Ask up front how work outside the scope, such as a later language, will be charged.
A smaller first version is a legitimate choice. Launching the German core with one strong collection or service page, then adding languages and features once real enquiries arrive, spreads the effort over time and bases each decision on data.
14Your First 90 Days and the Next Step
Launch starts the measurement rather than ending the work: the first 90 days show whether the site actually brings enquiries. Split the period into three blocks:
- Days 1 to 30: confirm that forms, call buttons and booking links work on every device, and that Search Console shows no indexing errors.
- Days 31 to 60: look at which pages get visits and which queries find you; collect the first reviews.
- Days 61 to 90: improve the text and call to action on your most visited page; if ILM is approaching, prepare the season pages.
Log every enquiry with its source: phone, form, trade fair or referral. After three months you will see which channel brings customers from Offenbach and which from Frankfurt. If you want steady growth in search, our SEO service can follow on from launch; paid ads make sense only once measurement and consent work correctly.
For the next step, you have two options. Package scopes and online purchase are listed in the pricing section of our web design page. If you would rather define the scope together, request a 15 minute video call through our contact form; tell us about your buyers and languages, and we will send a written scope and quote for your web design Offenbach project.
