Trendyol Ads Explained: Product, Store, Influencer and Meta Ad Types for Sellers

What are Trendyol ads and how do they work?

Trendyol ads are the paid visibility options that sellers launch from the Ad Management screen in the Trendyol Seller Panel. There are four models: product ads billed per click, store ads billed per 1,000 impressions, commission-based influencer ads, and Meta retargeting ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Trendyol is one of the largest marketplaces in Turkey, and more foreign brands now sell there. So the question I hear most often is simple: which ad type deserves the budget? To answer it, you need to know how each model charges, where it appears and what it measures. In this guide I took every rule directly from the official Trendyol Seller Information Center. I also explain when I switch each model on and which mistakes I avoid.

One note on currency: Trendyol sets all limits in Turkish lira (TL). I quote them as published, because the panel shows them in TL too.

Why do Trendyol ads matter for marketplace sellers?

In practice, organic ranking on Trendyol depends on many signals. Sales history, price, ratings and buybox status all play a part. A new store or a newly listed product has none of these signals yet. Therefore ads act as an accelerator that helps a product collect its first sales and first reviews.

However, ads do not rescue a weak listing. If the images are poor, the description is thin or the price sits far above competitors, you pay for clicks that never convert. That is why I review the product page before any campaign. My ecommerce product page guide covers the checklist in detail.

In short, ads put a good listing in front of the right buyer sooner. If you want the wider strategic view first, my article on organic growth versus paid ads explains how I balance the two.

How do the four Trendyol ad models compare?

The table below compares the four models by billing, placement and main goal. All details come from the Seller Information Center. Trendyol can change amounts and thresholds, so always trust the current value in your panel.

ModelBillingPlacementBest for
Product adsCost per click (CPC, "TBM" in Turkish)Ad slots in search results and listings, labelled "Sponsored Product"Direct sales, launching new products
Store adsCost per 1,000 impressions (CPM, "GBM" in Turkish)Top of the search page for keywords you choose, labelled "Sponsored"Brand awareness, store traffic, followers
Influencer adsCommission per saleInstagram Stories from influencersNew audiences, promotions
Meta adsImpression-based spend managed by the Facebook algorithmFacebook and Instagram feed and StoriesWinning back interested shoppers

The key difference is the payment logic. You pay for clicks, impressions, sales or views depending on the model. As a result, each model needs its own success metric.

Budget sources also differ. Product and store ads draw from the ad balance you load in the panel. According to Trendyol's glossary, gift balance amounts count toward that total too. Influencer ads, on the other hand, charge a commission as sales happen. So plan your cash flow around two different payment rhythms.

How do Trendyol product ads work?

Product ads push the items you select into ad slots in search results. According to Trendyol's product ads help page, your items carry a "Sponsored Product" label while the campaign runs. The system uses what Trendyol calls smart algorithms to match your ad with shoppers who search for your product group.

Unlike Google, you do not choose keywords here. In other words, your product data does the targeting. The title, category, attribute fields and description tell the algorithm which searches fit. In my experience, listing quality moves product ad results more than the bid does.

Core rules for product ads

  • You can add up to 50 products to one ad; for more, you create a second ad.
  • The minimum run time is one day, but Trendyol recommends seven days or more.
  • You can start an ad on the same day until 21:00; after that, you pick the next day.
  • You can only advertise products marked as eligible in the "Eligibility Status" column.
  • Trendyol states that advertising buybox winners gives you an advantage.

How should you set your CPC bid for product ads?

CPC is the maximum amount you agree to pay for each click. The official ad creation guide says the system suggests a bid plus lower and upper limits for your chosen products. The actual CPC often ends up below your bid. Trendyol gives an example: a bid of 0.20 TL with an actual cost of 0.16 TL.

Next, you choose between two bidding strategies. With manual bidding, you enter the amount yourself. With automatic bidding, the system analyses performance data and finds a suitable CPC level within seven days. Trendyol also notes that a higher click and conversion rate can lower your actual CPC.

In practice, I start new accounts manually in the middle of the suggested range. After one or two weeks of data, I move strong converters into a separate ad and drop the weak ones. That way the budget flows to products that already sell. My CTR calculator helps you check click rates quickly.

What budget limits apply to product ads?

First, you pick either a daily budget or a total budget. According to Trendyol's help page, the total budget of one product ad can reach 50,000 TL. A total budget also cannot exceed your current ad balance. The same rule applies to the daily amount of a daily budget ad.

The same page lists two different minimums for the daily budget per product: 15 TL in one line and 10 TL in another. Meanwhile, the maximum stays at 5,000 TL. Small inconsistencies like this happen in help centres. So always follow the limit your panel shows when you build the ad.

While an ad runs, you can raise the budget, change the CPC, extend the dates and rename it. Unspent money returns to your ad balance when an ad ends or when you cancel it. For early cancellations, the refund usually appears within a few hours. Therefore a small test ad does not lock up your cash.

How do Trendyol store ads differ from product ads?

Store ads show your store and four selected products at the very top of the search page for keywords you choose. Trendyol's store ads help page confirms the placement carries a "Sponsored" label. So here you control targeting through keyword selection.

Billing is the second big difference. Store ads run on cost per 1,000 impressions. Each keyword has its own suggested value, and Trendyol updates suggestions daily by category. Also, each search shows only one store ad. Consequently a higher bid directly improves your visibility.

The third difference concerns the buybox. With store ads, shoppers who click reach your listing even if you lost the buybox. Still, they see other sellers further down the page, so your price must stay competitive. My CPM calculator helps you model impression costs before you bid.

How should you pick keywords and products for store ads?

Trendyol asks you to choose four products from the same category and product group. You can add up to 10 keywords per ad. Together these two limits shape the strategy: each store ad should focus on one product group and its strongest searches.

This is the order I follow:

  1. First, add your brand name and product names people search together with your brand.
  2. Next, choose two or three word searches that describe your product group without being too broad.
  3. Add broad single-word terms only if your budget can carry a high bid.
  4. Pick four bestsellers with competitive prices; Trendyol says this choice improves results.
  5. If the option appears, upload a banner that follows the published banner rules.

Finding keywords that sell works much the same on Google and on a marketplace. I explain my approach in how to find keywords that drive sales.

What budget and timing rules apply to store ads?

You need an ad balance before you can launch a store ad. You can transfer it from your seller earnings or buy it by credit card. The daily budget ranges from 50 TL to 6,000 TL. The total budget can reach 60,000 TL but cannot exceed your balance.

Timing, however, is flexible. If you tick "No end date", the ad keeps running until your balance runs out. However, you cannot add or remove products after launch. A wrong choice means building a new ad.

Above all, watch your stock closely. The ad keeps running while no more than two of the four products sell out. If more than two go out of stock, Trendyol stops the ad. So I avoid putting products that will sell out fast during a sale into a store ad.

What are Trendyol influencer ads and how are you charged?

Commission-based influencer ads let influencers share your Trendyol products in Instagram Stories, and you pay only when a sale happens. According to the official influencer ads page, your offer reaches more than 30,000 influencers in the Trendyol network. You do not need to ship any samples.

Influencers who accept your offer prepare screenshots of your store or products and share them. The ad ends on your chosen date. However, Trendyol keeps counting visits from shared links for seven more days. Your cost equals the final price the customer paid, minus discounts and VAT, times your commission rate.

For example, Trendyol's own calculation makes this clear. With a 10 percent commission and 100 TL in sales at 20 percent VAT, you pay 8 TL on the net 80 TL. Also note that the influencer tab only appears for sellers above a minimum revenue level that Trendyol sets. If you cannot see it, your account may not qualify yet.

Which influencer ad routing option should you choose?

Trendyol offers four routing options, and your choice decides where the commission applies. Two terms matter here. Direct commission covers products in the shared link. Indirect commission covers other items the shopper buys from you during that visit.

  • Store homepage: Shoppers land on your store, and the commission covers every product.
  • Category and brand: Selected categories or brands get the direct rate; other items get the indirect rate.
  • Product group: You pick 5 to 20 products, and the influencer shares a link to those items only.
  • Sponsored collection: Your products join a themed collection that an influencer builds from several sellers.

For new sellers I usually recommend product group routing, because it gives the cleanest measurement. You see exactly which item works in Stories. If you want to work with creators outside the Trendyol network too, my team and I plan fit and tracking in our influencer marketing service.

Who can use Trendyol Meta ads?

Meta ads are a retargeting model. They reach people who viewed, favourited, carted or bought your products or products in your categories on Trendyol, then show them ads on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta ads help page says you do not pick products. Every item on sale with a stock of four or more joins automatically.

Eligibility, however, needs care. The same page lists two different thresholds. One asks for more than 200,000 TL in sales, at least 1,000 buyers and an average item value above 200 TL over the last 30 days. The other asks for more than 100 orders with an average basket of at least 30 TL. Your panel access shows which rule applies to you.

Trendyol notes that Facebook algorithms usually learn for the first four days, so returns can swing early on. Therefore do not judge Meta ads after a few days. Meta policies also block ads for tobacco, underwear, sexual health, medicine and diet products in this model. I explain where retargeting fits in my remarketing funnel guide.

Which metrics should you track for Trendyol ads?

Trendyol's official ad glossary defines every metric, and misreading them leads to bad decisions. These four matter most:

  • Actual CPC: Spend divided by clicks.
  • Ad revenue: Purchases from you within seven days by shoppers who saw the ad.
  • Ad return: Ad revenue divided by ad spend, the same idea as ROAS.
  • Direct and indirect sales: The advertised item itself versus other products the ad helped sell.

Store ads, however, use a different attribution window: 14 days instead of seven. So when you compare product ads and store ads side by side, you compare different windows. My ROAS calculator helps you read returns against profit. For the wider KPI logic, see my guide on digital marketing KPIs.

Why can a high ad return still lose money?

Ad return measures revenue, not profit. For example, your return might look like 5. Yet after Trendyol commission, shipping, VAT, returns and product cost, the remaining margin may not cover the spend. That is why I calculate a break-even return for every product.

The maths is simple. First, subtract all costs from the selling price to find your margin. Then divide 1 by the margin share of the price. With a 25 percent margin, your break-even return is 4. Anything below 4 means the ad loses money on that item.

Also look at indirect sales. An ad can break even on its own product and still lift total profit through extra items in the basket. Still, I never make indirect sales the main decision metric, because they carry the most uncertainty. My conversion rate calculator makes regular checks easier.

How does your operational status affect Trendyol ads?

Ad delivery on Trendyol depends on your operational status, not only on bids. According to the help page, an orange status drops your buybox products out of the buybox. A red status hides the visibility of all your products. Trendyol also stops ad spend on products that lose the buybox or visibility.

Likewise, a red capacity status stops store ads. Meta ads pause at orange or red status and restart automatically once you are green again.

So before a big push, check shipping times, cancellation rates and stock. If you cannot ship the extra orders on time, your status drops and the ads stop themselves. In short, a marketplace ad plan and an operations plan belong together.

How should you manage Trendyol ads during big sales events?

Competition rises during major discount days because more sellers bid on the same searches. As a result, actual click and impression costs can climb above normal levels. Trendyol itself says suggested keywords and impression bids change daily by category.

I prepare for sales in three steps. First, load your ad balance early, because an ad pauses with an "Insufficient balance" status once the money runs out. Second, check stock for every product in the promotion. Finally, raise budgets step by step and compare daily returns with your break-even value.

Do not cut budgets the day the sale ends either. Product ads use a seven-day window and store ads a 14-day window. You only see the true result once those windows close. Otherwise you may switch off an ad that actually worked.

In which order should you use Trendyol ad models?

No single order fits every seller, but this sequence works well in most accounts. First, run product ads on buybox winners that already have reviews. This shows you which items turn clicks into sales.

Next, launch a store ad for the product group that proved itself. Store ads grow brand searches and followers, so they turn short-term demand into lasting visibility. Then, once your sales volume passes the threshold, add Meta ads to bring back shoppers who looked but did not buy.

Influencer ads fit more flexibly into this flow. Because you pay only per sale, the risk stays low. However, your product needs to work in a Stories format. Items with strong visual appeal, fair prices and an active promotion tend to perform best. For overall paid social planning, my guide on calculating a social media ad budget offers a useful framework.

What are the most common Trendyol ads mistakes?

When I audit marketplace accounts, I also keep seeing the same errors. Most come from poor preparation rather than bad bids.

  • Running product ads on items that lost the buybox, so clicks may help a competitor.
  • Putting every product into one ad and never separating results by item.
  • Raising budgets without comparing ad return to profit margin.
  • Adding low-stock items to store ads, which ends the ad early.
  • Stopping Meta ads before the learning phase finishes.
  • Multiplying spend during sales without checking operational capacity.

You can measure every one of these. So set up a weekly routine that tracks ad return, actual CPC, stock and operational status in one sheet. Add one more column: the organic sales of each product in the following week. If organic sales never move, the ad only rents visibility, and you need to rework the listing itself.

How should you plan a Trendyol ads budget?

In practice, I build the budget backwards from product margins. First, find the break-even return for each item. Then use your sales target and expected conversion rate to estimate the clicks you need. Multiply those clicks by the average CPC, and you have a starting budget.

Treat the first month as a test. During that period, you can give most of the budget to product ads and a smaller share to a store ad for your strongest product group. After two weeks of data, shift money to profitable items and pause the losers.

Remember that unspent balance returns to you, which makes small tests easy. If you want to grow your marketplace store and your own online shop together, my team and I combine both channels in one plan through our ecommerce consulting service.

Can you run Trendyol ads and Google Ads together?

Yes, but give each channel a clear role. Trendyol ads capture demand inside the marketplace, where shoppers already search for products. Google Ads reaches people on Google who have not yet decided where to buy.

If you own a shop, sending Google traffic there is often more profitable, because you avoid marketplace commission. On the other hand, if your site lacks trust signals, Trendyol's built-in trust may win in the short term. Put simply, the marketplace drives volume and new customers, while your own site earns repeat buyers and higher margins.

For example, you can invite first-time Trendyol buyers to your own channel with a packaging insert and an email opt-in. That raises the lifetime value of every customer your ads win. If you also want support on social channels, our social media management service covers that side.

Which Trendyol ads model should you start with?

The four Trendyol ad models complement each other rather than compete. Product ads catch buyers who search, store ads put your brand at the top of results, influencer ads bring new audiences, and Meta ads recover lost shoppers.

My advice for a start is clear. Begin with product ads on buybox winners that have reviews and enough margin. Calculate your break-even return, treat the first two weeks as data collection and judge results by Trendyol's own metric definitions. In short, run ads as a measured experiment, not as a fixed cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum budget for Trendyol ads?
The minimum depends on the ad model. Store ads need at least 50 TL per day. For product ads, the help page lists two different daily minimums per product, 10 TL and 15 TL. So check the current limit in your Seller Panel when you build the ad, because Trendyol can change these amounts at any time.
What does TBM mean in Trendyol product ads?
TBM is the Turkish abbreviation for cost per click. It is the maximum amount you agree to pay for each click on your ad. The system suggests a bid with lower and upper limits for your products. Your actual cost often ends up below the bid, and a higher conversion rate can lower it further.
What is the difference between Trendyol store ads and product ads?
Product ads charge per click, and you do not pick keywords; the algorithm matches your items to searches. Store ads charge per 1,000 impressions, and you choose up to 10 keywords. Your store then appears at the top of the search page with four products. Product ads lean toward sales, while store ads lean toward brand visibility.
When do I pay for Trendyol influencer ads?
You pay only when a sale happens. Trendyol takes the price the customer paid after discounts, removes VAT and multiplies the result by your commission rate. Visits from shared links count for seven more days after the ad ends. You also do not need to ship samples, because influencers share screenshots of your products.
Why can't I see the Meta ads tab in my Trendyol panel?
Most likely your account has not reached the eligibility threshold yet. The Trendyol help page ties access to order volume, buyer numbers and average sales value over the last 30 days. Once your volume grows, the model becomes available. Meanwhile, product and store ads help you build the audience that Meta ads will later retarget.
What is a good ad return on Trendyol?
A good ad return depends on your profit margin, so no fixed target exists. With a 25 percent margin, your break-even return is 4, and anything lower loses money on that product. Include Trendyol commission, shipping, VAT and returns in the calculation. Also remember that store ads use a 14-day attribution window.
