Most people who open a website from Siirt are far away from it. A nut importer in Rotterdam comparing pistachio suppliers, a family in London ordering honey for a holiday table, a hiking club in Colorado reading about Botan Valley: each of them meets the business on a phone screen first and decides there whether to write back.
We are Talha Aslan and team, and we wrote this guide for anyone planning a web design Siirt project, whether you run the orchard, the workshop or the tour company yourself or deal with one from abroad. Every section gives you something to act on: a check you can run, a criterion for a decision, or a question to put to any agency.
01What a Website Has to Carry for a Siirt Business
For a Siirt business, the website has to make registered local products and a protected landscape credible to someone who has never seen either. Turkish Statistical Institute records put the province at 332,369 residents at the end of 2025, roughly 0.39 percent of Turkey's population. With a small home market, growth usually arrives as orders and visitors from elsewhere.
The local economy draws on a few distinct strengths, and each one asks for a different page layout:
- Siirt pistachio: Registered as a geographical indication of origin on 4 September 2025 in the name of the provincial directorate of agriculture and forestry; the registration highlights the large kernel and a crop that comes in almost every year.
- Handwoven goods: The Siirt blanket, woven from mohair goat fleece, was registered in 2003, and local reporting counts 11 registered products in all, including Pervari honey, şal şepik cloth and bıttım soap.
- Botan Valley: Declared Turkey's 45th national park in August 2019, with terrain for rafting, paragliding and hiking around the center, Tillo and Eruh.
- Food culture: Büryan, slow cooked lamb from a pit oven, and perde pilavı, a rice dish baked in a pastry shell, both appear on the registered list.
Before any design meeting, write down where your buyers actually are, what proof convinces them, and which channel brings real orders today. The answers decide the skeleton of the site.
02Who Searches for Siirt, and in Which Words
Searches connected to Siirt split into three clear groups: product searches, trip planning and local services. Each group needs its own kind of page, and a site that tries to answer all three on one homepage answers none of them well.
- Product buyers: Queries such as "Siirt pistachios wholesale", "Turkish mohair blanket" or "Pervari honey"; these readers want origin, grading, pack sizes and shipping terms.
- Travelers: Queries such as "Botan Valley rafting", "Tillo light phenomenon date" or "hiking southeastern Turkey"; they look for dates, access roads, safety information and where to stay.
- Diaspora families: People with roots in the province who search in English or Turkish for büryan, honey or a blanket to send to relatives.
- Local customers: Residents of the center and Kurtalan looking for a restaurant, a course or a hauler; proximity and a quick call matter most.
Seasons shape these searches. Pistachio interest rises with the new harvest; Tillo draws visitors on the mornings of 21 March and 23 September, when sunlight reaches the İsmail Fakirullah tomb; Botan trips follow the weather. Put these dates in a simple calendar and refresh the matching page a few weeks before each one.
A quick test: search your own product or tour name in a private browser window and note who appears first and which question your page leaves unanswered.
03Working With a Team Outside the Province
Our work with Siirt businesses runs fully online, so the right partner is the one whose process you can see and read, not the one who lives nearest. In a harvest rush or a busy tour week, an unclear process costs more time than any distance.
Ask every agency you talk to these questions, and get the answers in writing:
- Scope: Which pages, languages and ordering options are included, and how is anything outside that list handled?
- Photography: Who shoots the orchard, the loom or the canyon, and will the agency hand you a shot list in advance?
- Product facts: Who signs off on grading, harvest dates and weaving details before they go live?
- Live proof: Can you open a comparable site on your own phone, in food, handmade goods, lodging or logistics?
Do not settle for screenshots on that last point. Our live work is on our client references page; none of those projects are in Siirt, but they cover a food producer, a product store, a boutique hotel and a logistics firm, which are the closest matches to businesses there.
04Domain, Admin Panel and Accounts in Your Name
Your business should own the domain, the hosting account and every connected service, and the contract should say so before work starts. In family run orchards and workshops, logins often end up in a cousin's or a former employee's personal mailbox, and years later that becomes a lockout.
On handover day, check each item yourself:
- Domain: Registered to the business or its authorized owner, with renewal notices going to an inbox someone actually reads.
- Admin panel: You hold the administrator login for adding products, closing out stock and posting notices; the agency works with a user account.
- Code and data: Site files and the database can be handed over in full on request, so moving to another host is never blocked.
- Google accounts: Business Profile, Search Console and GA4 are created under your own account, with the agency added as a user.
- Payments and shipping: Any payment gateway or courier contract is signed in the business name.
Logging in to each of these with your own password takes about half an hour. That half hour saves you from an account recovery in the middle of harvest. Keep the credentials in a password manager shared between at least two trusted people rather than in one person's head.
05From First Video Call to Launch, Step by Step
The speed of a remote project depends on the order of the steps and on a clear record of who approved what at the end of each one. Here is how we run a project with a business in Siirt:
- Discovery call: On video we go through your product, your buyers and your seasonal calendar, and open your current site and social accounts together.
- Written proposal: Page list, languages, ordering path and delivery date arrive in writing; work starts once you approve.
- Material collection: Photos, documents and product data go into a shared folder, and a checklist shows what is still missing.
- Design approval: You review the design live in a browser and leave notes on the exact element; no code is written before approval.
- Testing: The site is tried on several phones, on a weak connection and with the order form.
- Launch and training: A video session shows you how to add a product, mark it sold out and post a dated notice.
Every stage is visible in our CRM, so you never need to ask where things stand. If you are ever in Istanbul and prefer to meet in person, we can sit down by appointment at our Ataşehir office; the project continues in the same system afterward.
Step three is where calendars slip. If the project overlaps with harvest or rafting season, schedule the photo shoot before it starts.
06Local Search in the Center, Kurtalan and Pervari
Map results depend on the Google Business Profile, while the website confirms that profile and persuades the visitor. The first rule is that name, address and phone number match exactly in both places.
Google's guidelines say the profile name must match the real world name, with no keywords added; "Siirt Pistachio Cheapest Fresh" is not a business name. Service area businesses without a storefront, such as a Pervari beekeeper who ships honey across the country, can hide their address and define a service area instead.
For district names, we draw these lines:
- Center and Kezer: Home to 180,837 people and the university's main campus; restaurants, courses and student services win here with a complete profile, reviews and accurate hours.
- Kurtalan: With 60,674 residents and the last stop of the Kurtalan Express from Ankara, about 1,212 kilometers of track; haulers and warehouses need one service page with information that is genuinely about Kurtalan.
- Pervari, Baykan and Şirvan: People search the product together with the district, so the name belongs in the origin section of the product page rather than on a separate page.
- Tillo and Eruh: Visitor searches dominate; dated notices and directions do more than a district page would.
Pages that differ only by the district name are what Google calls doorway pages and can drag the whole site down. Our SEO service plans product and local search together.
07English and Other Languages: Who Actually Reads Them
A second language pays off for a Siirt business only when real buyers or visitors read it. It is a sales tool for a defined audience, not a badge.
Look at three audiences before deciding:
- Importers and nut traders: A wholesale buyer in Europe, the Gulf or North America expects grading, moisture, packaging and delivery terms in English, and often asks for documents before a sample.
- Adventure travelers: International groups planning Botan trips want safety rules, gear lists and meeting points in their own language.
- Diaspora families: Many read Turkish, yet the younger relative who actually places the order may be more comfortable in English or German.
If none of these groups writes to you today, a second language can wait. If one does, each language needs its own URL and reciprocal hreflang tags; each version points to itself and to the others, which tells Google which page belongs to which language.
Machine translation does particular damage to product names and regional terms. Words like şal şepik or büryan should stay as they are, with a short explanation beside them, rather than being forced into an awkward English equivalent. When you plan more than two languages, read our multilingual website page first.
08Speed on Mobile Data, Hosting and Security
Many visitors reach a Siirt site on mobile data, on a bus, in a valley or on a village road, so speed matters as much as the look. Heavy product photos of nuts and blankets are the usual reason a page drags.
We judge speed by Google's Core Web Vitals at the 75th percentile of visits: LCP, the time until the largest element appears, at 2.5 seconds or less; INP, how quickly the page responds to a tap, at 200 milliseconds or less; CLS, how much the layout shifts while loading, at 0.1 or less.
Before launch we check:
- Image weight: Product photos are converted to WebP and served at several sizes for different screens.
- HTTPS: An SSL certificate covers every page and renews automatically.
- Backups: Copies live away from the main server, and a restore is tested once.
- Form protection: Order and contact forms are shielded from automated spam.
You can shrink photos taken in the orchard before uploading them with our image converter. Making this a habit at the start of each season keeps the site fast all year.
09Page Plans for Four Typical Siirt Businesses
Needs in Siirt split sharply by sector; a pistachio orchard and a rafting outfitter share almost no pages. The examples below are not client cases but general structures we suggest for the province's leading business types.
- Pistachio orchard or nut trader: Raw and roasted options on separate product pages with harvest date and pack weight, plus a short wholesale form asking for grade and quantity. Our agricultural business website page covers the producer side.
- Blanket, şal şepik or soap workshop: A photo sequence from spinning the mohair to the loom, with size, weight and care instructions on every product. Once the range grows, a full online store becomes worth discussing.
- Botan tour and camping operator: One page per route with duration, difficulty, minimum age and required gear, plus dated notices for closed periods. The campsite website page shows the lodging side.
- Restaurant serving büryan and perde pilavı: Büryan serving times, takeaway and advance orders sit on the first screen. Structure details are on our restaurant website page.
One business can fall into two groups, like a tour operator that also sells honey. Then splitting the main menu into two clear paths gets each visitor to their answer in two taps.
10KVKK, Cookies, Distance Sales and the Origin Mark
Legal texts must describe what your site really does and be ready before launch. Text copied from another company misinforms customers and makes a careful importer wonder what else was copied.
- Privacy notice: Article 10 of Turkey's data protection law KVKK, Law No. 6698, requires a notice wherever you collect personal data, including order and enquiry forms.
- EU and UK visitors: If you sell to customers in Europe, cookie consent is needed before non essential tracking, and Google requires consent mode for measurement and personalized advertising features for users in the European Economic Area.
- Distance sales: Turkish online sales require pre contract information under the distance contracts regulation; because the regulation lists exceptions to the right of withdrawal, prepare the food sales text with your legal adviser.
- Food registration: If you sell roasted pistachios or honey, confirm your food business registration and labels with the provincial directorate of agriculture and forestry.
- Origin mark: Before using the Siirt pistachio wording or logo, ask the directorate that holds the registration about inspection and conditions of use.
The legal content is your responsibility or your adviser's. Our job is to make sure these texts sit in the right place, linked to the forms and easy to read. Orders taken over WhatsApp involve personal data too, so mention that channel in the privacy notice as well.
11Redesigning Without Losing Search Positions
The biggest risk in rebuilding an older Siirt site is changing addresses that Google already knows without a plan. If the page ranking for "Siirt pistachio" disappears, orders can dip for a while no matter how good the new design looks.
Start by pulling from Search Console the pages that actually bring visits. On older orchard sites, a single product page or one blog post often carries most of the traffic, and it must find a clear match in the new structure.
- Inventory: Record every old URL, every page with external links, and the product images.
- One to one mapping: Each old URL points to its closest new page with a 301, the redirect that says a page has moved permanently; never send everything to the homepage.
- Staging: Protect the test site with a password. Blocking it in robots.txt alone is not enough, because Google cannot read a noindex tag on a page it is not allowed to crawl.
- First weeks: Watch the Search Console error reports and close any gaps you missed.
12Six Common Mistakes on Siirt Business Sites
Most recurring problems on Siirt business sites come from not anticipating the remote buyer's questions, not from design taste. Here are six common ones, each with a better alternative:
- One photo per product: Instead of a single bowl of pistachios, show them in shell, shelled, roasted and packed, with something in the frame for scale.
- Hidden shipping terms: Instead of "contact us", state typical delivery times within Turkey and abroad, the packaging and what happens if a parcel arrives damaged.
- Phone only ordering: Offer a WhatsApp link and a short order form next to the phone number, so a buyer in another time zone is not lost after hours.
- Tour pages without safety facts: Instead of only canyon photos, state difficulty, age limits, guide qualifications and gear for every Botan route.
- Decorative use of the origin mark: Instead of placing the registration logo as an ornament, learn the conditions and tell the origin through orchard, village and harvest details.
- A site frozen after the season: Instead of leaving last year's harvest notice on the homepage, update every dated item at the start of each season.
Most of these can be fixed with a few days of content work, without waiting for a redesign.
13What Drives the Scope and Budget
The cost of a web design Siirt project depends on scope, not on the province; a beekeeper in Pervari and a company in Istanbul choose from the same packages. These decisions enlarge a proposal most:
- Checkout: A store with payment, stock and courier integration instead of ordering by WhatsApp and form.
- Product variety: More colors, sizes and weights mean more photos and data for every variant.
- Languages: Each extra language needs adapted copy, separate URLs and hreflang setup.
- Trade area: Price requests, certificates and document sharing for importers and resellers.
- Content production: Whether you supply text and photos or we write them changes both the timeline and the effort.
The way to protect a budget is to launch with the pages you truly need and grow as sales data arrives. One season of WhatsApp orders, for example, shows which products people reorder, and that tells you which items should open a full store. A fixed scope that can be extended later costs less than paying for two separate projects.
14The First 90 Days and Your Next Step
Launch is the start of measurement, not the finish; the first 90 days show whether the site brings real orders and enquiries. We plan that period in three stages:
- Month one: Monitor Search Console and GA4, fix errors, and count WhatsApp clicks, form submissions and calls as conversions.
- Month two: Improve the most visited product or tour page and repair abandoned forms and slow pages.
- Month three: Prepare notices and content for the next harvest or the Tillo dates, and decide whether a short ad campaign makes sense.
Alongside the analytics, ask every new customer how they found you and keep the answers in a simple sheet. Referrals, a relative abroad or a trade fair contact never show up in analytics, and by the end of month three that sheet tells you which pages and channels deserve more effort.
Before you decide, answer the questions in this guide for your own business: where your buyers are, what proof earns their trust, and which ordering path suits you. You can see our fixed price packages under web design pricing, and you can reach us through our contact page to book a short video call. After that call we come back with a written scope and proposal.
