Most people who open the website of a Cankiri business have never visited it: a procurement engineer at a plant in Ankara, a tour operator assembling a winter package for Mount Ilgaz, or an importer comparing rock salt suppliers. They judge the company by what the site lets them check in a few minutes, and they rarely ask for what is missing.
In this guide, Talha Aslan and team walk through web design in Cankiri in the order an owner or a foreign partner actually makes the decisions. Each section gives you a criterion, a checklist or a question to put to an agency.
01Four Jobs a Website Does in Cankiri's Economy
A Cankiri website has to earn the trust of four very different readers, and it helps to rank them before any design work starts. TÜİK's 2024 provincial accounts put output per person in the province at 13,111 dollars, up from 7,397 dollars in 2020. In the same table, Kırıkkale to the south sits at about 13.3 thousand dollars and Kastamonu to the north at about 12 thousand.
Behind that climb are organised industrial zones, two large state plants, a salt mine worked for millennia, winter tourism on Ilgaz and a university. Each hands the website a separate task:
- Getting onto approved supplier lists: a manufacturer has to prove capacity, tolerances and quality certificates to a buyer who will not visit before the first order.
- Filling the winter season: a mountain lodge has to collect booking enquiries before the first snow, not after it.
- Selling a product nobody can touch: a salt company has to show grain size, packing and order terms to a distributor several countries away.
- Being found near campus: students and parents around Uluyazı move from a map pin to a website when choosing a course or a room.
Write down which of these four brings in most of your revenue. The menu, the homepage headline and the enquiry you measure all follow from that ranking.
02Who Searches for Cankiri Businesses, and When
Search behavior around Cankiri shifts with the season and with where the searcher sits, so a single keyword list cannot cover it. By the municipality's figures the city lies 120 km from Ankara and 90 km from Esenboğa Airport, so expect part of the search interest to come from the capital or from visitors arriving through it.
- Year round, from Ankara and abroad: buyers rarely type the province name; they search for a process such as precision machining or sheet metal cutting, a material, or a certificate. The capability page must carry those words in its title.
- Autumn into winter, from families and operators: searches for Ilgaz lodges and ski hotels rise as snow approaches; people check room photos, road notes and a call button.
- Trip planners: the salt cave at Balıbağı draws more than 10,000 visitors a month according to the municipality, so opening hours, directions and group details get searched constantly.
- Term start, from students: during registration weeks, searches for housing, courses, stationers and cafés cluster around Uluyazı Campus.
A useful exercise: write three real queries your customer would type on a phone, and next to each, the page on your site it should land on. A query with no matching page tells you which page is missing.
03Choosing a Partner That Works Remotely
We work with Cankiri businesses and their partners entirely online, with no representative in the province, so the right question is not how close an agency sits but how well its process is written down and visible to you. Records, approval points and live tracking replace the reassurance of a meeting room.
Ask every agency you are considering these questions, and ask for the answers in writing:
- Sector understanding: can they describe what a procurement team checks before sending a request for quotation, or what a family asks a ski lodge in November?
- Written scope: does the quote list pages, languages, form types and the launch date item by item?
- Approval record: where are design and copy approvals stored, and are spoken decisions confirmed in writing?
- Content collection: which shared folder, with which file naming, will hold the machine list, certificate scans and room photos?
- Live work: which sites close to your field are online today?
For that last point, skip the screenshots. Open the sites on your own phone, submit a form and tap the call button. You can test our published work the same way on our references page.
04Domain, Hosting, Code and Accounts in Your Name
The site and every account attached to it should belong to the business, and that clause belongs in the contract before work starts. Family firms in particular run into trouble when accounts were opened with an employee's personal address and access leaves with that person.
On handover day, log in with your own password and confirm each of these:
- Domain: the registrant is your company, and renewal reminders go to a company mailbox.
- Hosting panel: you hold administrator access, and the backup location and retention period are documented.
- Code and database: you can receive a complete copy at any time, and paid plugin licenses state whose name they are in.
- Google accounts: Search Console, GA4 and the Business Profile sit under your account; the agency only has user access.
- Uploaded files: you know on which server technical drawings from the quote form are stored and when they are deleted.
The last item matters most for firms supplying parts into defense or rail supply chains. Buyers in those fields may ask who can reach the drawings they send; having that answer prepared in writing shortens supplier assessment.
05The Online Project Process, Step by Step
Speed in a remote project comes from a fixed order of steps and from knowing who approved what at the end of each one. This is how a project with a Cankiri business, or with a foreign partner commissioning a site for one, usually runs:
- Kickoff call: on a screen sharing call we look at your current site, your competitors and your most important reader; for a manufacturer that is usually a procurement engineer.
- Written quote: pages, languages, forms and the timeline are set out; work starts once you approve.
- Materials list: certificates, machine details, room or product photos go on a single list, each item with an owner.
- Design round: you review drafts on a shared preview address from your phone; no coding starts without approval.
- Testing and launch: forms, the call button and the upload area are tested on several devices before the site goes live.
- Panel training: together, on a shared screen, we add a new certificate or a season photo so you can do it alone afterwards.
You follow every step in our CRM. If you prefer to meet in person, we can sit down at our Ataşehir office in Istanbul by appointment on a day you are in the city; tracking continues on the same screen.
Step three stretches timelines most; give one person in your firm the job of collecting certificates and photos.
06Local Search in Cankiri: Profile, Districts, No Doorways
Local visibility in Cankiri rests on one thing first: the Google Business Profile and the website must show identical details. Map results draw on the profile; the website is where a visitor confirms that the profile is real.
Google's guidelines require the business name on the profile to match the real world name, with no added keywords. Service area businesses that travel to customers may hide their address and define the area they serve instead.
The province has twelve districts: Merkez, Atkaracalar, Bayramören, Çerkeş, Eldivan, Ilgaz, Kızılırmak, Korgun, Kurşunlu, Orta, Şabanözü and Yapraklı. We use district names under these rules:
- Real service only: a machine shop in Korgun names Korgun in its address and mentions regular deliveries to Çerkeş on a service page only if they happen.
- No doorway pages: twelve copies of one page with only the district name swapped are what Google treats as low value; we do not build them.
- The Ilgaz boundary: most of the national park lies in Kastamonu, so Ilgaz results mix both provinces; a lodge states clearly which side it is on, in the address and the directions.
- Consistent contact data: name, address and phone read the same on the site, the profile and directory listings.
Industrial buyers search by process rather than place. To plan local and industry searches together, see our SEO service.
07When an English or German Version Pays Off
A second language is worth building for Cankiri businesses that have, or are actively pursuing, foreign buyers and partners; it is not a default. If an Ilgaz lodge hosts mainly Turkish speaking guests, strengthening the Turkish pages comes first.
The cases where an English or German version earns its keep:
- Metal and machinery exporters: the supplier quality team of a foreign manufacturer reads certificate and capacity pages in English.
- Salt producers selling abroad: a distributor needs product specifications, packing options and order terms in its own language.
- Firms dealing with Germany, Austria or Switzerland: a few core pages in German make the first contact with a buyer there noticeably easier.
- Businesses serving international students and staff: a course provider or a residence near campus can often manage with one short English page.
Each language lives at its own address and carries hreflang annotations pointing to itself and to every other version; these reciprocal tags tell Google which page belongs to which language. Machine translation alone can leave a worse impression than no version at all.
If you need more than two languages, the structure has to be planned from the start; we cover that on our multilingual website page.
08Speed, Hosting and Security Basics
We measure the speed of a Cankiri site against Google's Core Web Vitals, because the family opening it is often in a car and the buyer is usually between meetings on a phone. Google rates a page as good when 75 percent of visits meet these values:
- LCP: the largest piece of content appears within 2.5 seconds.
- INP: the page responds to a tap or click within 200 milliseconds.
- CLS: layout shift while loading stays at 0.1 or less.
Uncompressed snow and room photos and autoplaying sliders spoil these values most often. A lodge gallery should load one photo on the first screen and fetch the rest as the visitor scrolls. On a weak mountain road connection, the difference between a light page and a heavy one is felt immediately.
For a manufacturer that accepts drawings, we treat four measures as standard: SSL on every page, a non public storage area for uploads, individual permissions in the panel, and backups kept away from the web server with a restore that has actually been tested.
Company email authentication is part of security too. Without SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, a quotation you send can end up in the buyer's spam folder. You can see where you stand in seconds with our SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker.
09Sample Site Structures for Cankiri Sectors
The sector decides which page a Cankiri site puts forward, and one template does not suit a salt seller and a rail parts maker equally. The examples below are not client cases; they are structures we plan for typical businesses in the province.
- Metalworking shop in Yakınkent: two taps from the homepage lead to the machine list, the largest part size handled and the certificate archive; the quote form asks for material, quantity and a drawing file in separate fields.
- Supplier to a large state plant: the work is described by type, such as rail system components, instead of naming the customer; what can be published follows your contract terms.
- Mountain lodge at Ilgaz: a page per room, winter and summer photos, a note on snow chains and road conditions, and a tap to call button.
- Salt products company: grain size, pack weight and wholesale terms on every product, plus one story page on Balıbağı's roughly 5,000 years of production.
- Course provider near Uluyazı: term calendar, classroom photos and a map link on the first screen.
The manufacturer structure is covered in depth on our website for manufacturers page, and lodging on our hotel website page. If your field has a specific limit, such as a customer's confidentiality clause, raise it in the first call so the page structure is built around it.
10KVKK, Cookie Notices and Online Sales Rules
A site's legal texts have to describe the data you really collect and the sales you really make; copied texts carrying another firm's name do not get past a careful buyer. For a Cankiri business, the main points are:
- Privacy notice: Article 10 of Turkey's KVKK (Law No. 6698) requires an information notice wherever personal data is collected, stating who processes it and why; quote and room enquiry forms are included.
- Uploaded files: the name, phone and email sent with a drawing are personal data too; set a retention period and apply the same one on the server.
- Cookie notice: describe accurately when analytics and advertising cookies run; for visitors from the EU, non essential tracking needs consent first, and Google requires consent mode for its measurement and personalized ad features there.
- Distance sales: a site selling salt products online in Turkey must show the preliminary information, the distance sales contract and withdrawal right details to consumers before the order.
If salt is sold as a food product, the product details on the site should match the package label exactly, and a health claim that is not on the label should not appear on the site either. Confirm which labeling rules apply in each target market with an adviser who knows food law there.
The legal content is your or your adviser's responsibility; we place the texts correctly and link them to the forms. Payment, shipping and returns we plan separately within our e-commerce service.
11Redesigning Without Losing Search Rankings
The most valuable asset of a Cankiri company site that has been online for years is the set of addresses Google already knows; change them without a plan and a better looking site can draw fewer visits than the old one. An old CNC machining page that brings steady enquiries from Ankara needs an explicit counterpart.
The order we follow:
- Inventory: list every old address, the pages earning clicks in Search Console and the pages with links from other sites.
- One to one mapping: connect each old address to its closest new counterpart; never send everything to the homepage.
- Permanent redirects: apply the mapping with 301 redirects, which tell browsers and Google the page has moved for good.
- Post launch monitoring: watch the error reports in the first weeks and fix any address that slipped through.
Blocking a test site in robots.txt is not enough to keep it out of search. Google cannot read a noindex tag on a page it is blocked from crawling; to keep a page out of the index it must be crawlable and carry noindex.
For an Ilgaz lodge there is one more rule: do not relaunch in the middle of the snow season. Schedule the launch for late summer or early autumn so season pages have time to be crawled. You can compare old and new address lists with our redirect mapping tool.
12Common Mistakes on Cankiri Business Sites
Most recurring problems on Cankiri business sites come not from design but from skipping the reader's actual question. These are the six most common, each with a better alternative:
- Describing capacity in slogans: instead of "a modern machine park", list machine types, the dimensions you can handle and your shift pattern.
- Posting certificates only as images: write out the certificate name, issuing body and validity date as text, and attach the original as a downloadable file.
- Adding winter information once the season has started: publish the room enquiry form, chain and road notes and winter photos weeks before the first snow.
- Health claims for salt without evidence: give grain size, intended use and packing details instead; keep a claim only if a reliable source supports it.
- Sending quotes from a free mail service: use a company address on your own domain with authentication records in place.
- Leaving enquiries unmeasured: track form, call and WhatsApp enquiries as separate conversions from day one, and keep supply enquiries apart from lodging enquiries.
Several of these need only content work, not a new build, so check which apply before committing to a full redesign.
13What Drives the Scope and Budget
Scope, not location, sets the cost of a Cankiri web design project; our prices are the same for Cankiri as for Istanbul. These are the items that change the size of a quote:
- Number of capabilities and products: a separate page for each process or product group adds copy, photo and design work.
- Quote form with file upload: a form that accepts drawings and stores them securely takes more work than a standard contact form.
- Language versions: each extra language needs adapted copy, its own address structure and hreflang setup.
- Online sales: payment, shipping, stock and returns widen the scope considerably.
- Photos and content preparation: if workshop, room or product photos are not ready, a shoot plan is discussed separately.
The sensible way to set a budget is to separate what the first release truly needs from what can wait for a second phase. A salt company might launch with product pages and a wholesale enquiry form and add an online shop later; a lodge can add German once foreign guest enquiries actually arrive.
14The First 90 Days After Launch and Your Next Step
Whether a site works shows up in the data of the following three months, not on launch day, so we count the first 90 days as part of the project. For a Cankiri business we plan that period like this:
- Month one: indexing and error reports in Search Console are watched, and the Business Profile is checked against the site one final time.
- Month two: the most visited capability, room or product pages and the form flow are improved based on real usage.
- Month three: we review which enquiry channel brings work and decide on new content and, where it makes sense, advertising.
For a seasonal lodge at Ilgaz this calendar is planned backwards from the snow season; for an industrial supplier, an upcoming supplier audit or trade fair date serves as the reference point.
Before deciding, answer three questions: who is your most important reader, which documents and photos are ready, and do you need a second language. You can see our fixed price packages in the web design pricing section, and book a video call about your Cankiri project through our contact page. After the call we follow up with a written scope and quote.
