A website in Eskisehir rarely has a single reader. On the same afternoon it may be opened by a sourcing engineer in Ohio checking a machining subcontractor, by a student from Kazakhstan comparing residences near campus, and by a couple from Istanbul looking for a guesthouse in the old town. Good web design in Eskisehir gives each of them a short, obvious path to what they came for.
We are Talha Aslan and team, and we wrote this guide for business owners in Eskisehir and for the foreign partners who buy from them, study there or invest there. The sections follow the order in which decisions are usually made, and each one ends with something you can check or ask before you sign anything.
01What a Website Has to Prove in Eskisehir
In Eskisehir, a company website mainly has to prove production capability to someone who has never visited the plant. The numbers explain why. In TÜİK's provincial GDP data for 2024, the province ranks 9th of 81 in output per person and is one of only 11 above the national average. Ministry of Trade figures for 2023 give it 1.7 percent of Turkey's exports by province of production, 12th place; Bursa next door holds 6.9 percent and Konya 1.5.
The Eskisehir Chamber of Industry names aviation, defense, home appliances, machinery and chemicals as the leading export sectors for 2024, with goods going to more than 170 countries and the United States, France and Germany as the most important markets. A buyer in one of those markets usually screens suppliers online first, and looks for four things:
- Scope of work: Part families or product groups, with materials, size envelope and typical batch sizes.
- Equipment: A machine list with axis counts, inspection equipment and any special processes done in house.
- Approvals: Quality system certificates with issuing body and expiry date, plus the industries you already supply.
- A named contact: A real person with a direct e-mail address and the languages they handle.
If one of these is missing, the buyer seldom writes to ask. They move to the next name on the shortlist, so we draft these four blocks before anyone discusses colors.
02Who Searches for What, and When
Search demand around Eskisehir follows three calendars: industrial sourcing that runs all year, the academic year of three universities, and the weekend rhythm of the historic quarter. Knowing which calendar drives your revenue tells you when each page must be live.
- Industrial buyers: They search by process, not by city: "5 axis machining Turkey", "nickel alloy turning supplier", "ceramic glazing subcontractor". They browse on a desktop during office hours and read carefully.
- International students: The three universities launched the joint Study in Eskişehir brand in 2025, and Osmangazi University alone hosts about 2,000 students from 92 countries. They search on phones, often in English, and use campus names such as Meşelik, İki Eylül or Yunus Emre.
- Weekend visitors: Travelers search for Odunpazarı guesthouses, meerschaum workshops and museums, usually days before they arrive.
- Families abroad: Parents compare residences and language schools from home, wanting proof that someone answers the phone at night.
A useful exercise: sort every inquiry from the last quarter into these four groups. The group that brings the most revenue gets the first screen of the home page; the others get clear routes in the menu.
03Choosing a Team That Works Remotely, Done Right
Our work with Eskisehir businesses runs entirely online, and with a remote partner the deciding factor is not distance but how decisions get recorded. Trust comes from written scope, regular video calls and a project status you can see without asking.
When you compare agencies, ask questions that fit Eskisehir's realities:
- Confidentiality: Who decides which prime contractor work can be shown, and will that decision be put in writing before design starts?
- Technical language: Who edits tolerances, alloy designations and process names, and how is a wrong term corrected after launch?
- Academic deadlines: If a residence site must be ready before the autumn intake, by which date do you need our photos and room details?
- Live proof: Which of your sites in a similar field can we open on a phone right now and test?
Open a live site on your own phone, submit its contact form and see how long a reply takes. You can try our launched projects the same way on our references page.
The usual failure in remote projects is decisions scattered across chat threads. Asking for a short written summary after every call removes most of that risk.
04Ownership: Domain, Hosting, Code and Accounts
The domain, the hosting account and every connected service should be registered to the company itself, and the contract should say so. A common pattern in Eskisehir is a site still sitting in the personal account of a former employee or a relative who set it up years ago.
At handover we walk through this checklist together:
- Log in to the domain registrar: The registrant should be your legal entity, and renewal notices should go to a shared company address.
- Test hosting access: You hold the admin password, and the location of backups is written down.
- Request the code: Site files and the database must be deliverable as one package, with the license holder named for any paid component.
- Check analytics ownership: Search Console and GA4 live under your company's Google account, with the agency added only as a user.
- Claim the Business Profile: You are the primary owner; the agency works with a manager role.
Defense and aerospace suppliers have one more item. If the site includes a password protected document area for customers, write down who gets access, how long files are kept and who holds the access logs. A prime contractor's security team may ask these questions during an audit, and it helps to have the answers ready.
05The Online Process, Step by Step
With an Eskisehir firm, every stage from discovery to launch happens on screen with written approvals, so nobody needs to travel for a meeting. For a supplier site we follow this order:
- Discovery call: We discuss your buyers, export markets and competing suppliers over video, in English or Turkish, and collect your machine list and certificates.
- Disclosure map: One page lists which customer names, part photos and projects may be shown, and which are shared only on request.
- Scope and quote: Pages, languages and timeline arrive in writing; work starts when you approve.
- Structure and design: The menu and page order are approved first, then the design is reviewed live in the browser; no code is written before sign off.
- Build and testing: Forms, language switching and downloadable files are tested on different phones and browsers.
- Launch and training: On launch day a video session shows your team how to add a new certificate or machine.
You follow each step live in our CRM. If you would rather meet in person while you are in Istanbul, we can see you by appointment at our office in Ataşehir; it is optional and the workflow stays the same.
Step two usually takes longest, because disclosure decisions travel between sales, quality and management. Giving one person authority over that list can shorten the project by weeks.
06Local Search in Odunpazarı, Tepebaşı and Around Campus
Local visibility in Eskisehir depends on using the two central districts and the campus names correctly. TÜİK's 2025 address data show that roughly 90 percent of the province's 927,956 residents live in Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı, so most local demand comes from there.
Odunpazarı needs care because it is both a district and the name of the historic quarter with its timber houses. A meerschaum workshop in the old quarter should make that location explicit, while a heating engineer elsewhere in the same district should name the neighborhoods served. Google's guidelines say the Business Profile name must match the real world name with no keywords added, so "Odunpazarı Cheap Boiler Repair Tepebaşı" style names risk suspension. Service area businesses may hide their address and define the area they cover instead.
- Campus distance: Residence and course sites should state walking or tram time to each campus in plain text, not only on a map.
- Industrial zone address: A factory in the organized industrial zone should use the same street and plot details on the site and the profile; couriers and visiting auditors search for exactly that.
- No doorway pages: Pages for Sivrihisar, Alpu or Seyitgazi that differ only by the district name are the thin pattern Google treats as low value.
- Real photos and replies: Add genuine photos of rooms, workshops or machines to the profile and answer reviews personally.
To plan local and process searches together, see how our search engine optimization service works.
07Which Languages Pay Off, and for Whom
The language decision for an Eskisehir site should follow the people who actually buy, study or visit. With the United States, France and Germany named as the province's leading export markets, English is close to mandatory for exporters, and French or German often earns its place on the capability pages.
- English: The working language of aerospace sourcing and the language of most international students arriving through Study in Eskişehir. Residences, language schools and private tutors serving them need full English pages, not a summary.
- French: Suppliers to French manufacturers benefit when at least the capability overview and contact page are in French; purchasing teams forward such pages internally without rewriting them.
- German: Appliance and machinery subcontractors selling to German buyers, and guesthouses hosting visitors from the large Turkish community in Germany, both gain from German pages.
- Russian or Arabic: Worth adding only when you see real demand and have someone who can answer in that language.
Each language needs its own URL, and hreflang annotations must point from every version to all others and to itself; they tell Google which page serves which language and region. You can draft the tags with our hreflang generator.
Machine translation tends to turn engineering terms into nonsense, which a foreign engineer notices at once. For the structure behind several languages, see our multilingual website page.
08Speed, Hosting and Security Basics
Speed and security send the same signal to all three Eskisehir audiences: this business is run carefully. A student on patchy campus data and a quality engineer behind a corporate firewall hit the same problems for different reasons.
We measure against Google's Core Web Vitals at the 75th percentile of visits. LCP, the time until the largest element on screen appears, should be 2.5 seconds or less; INP, how quickly the page responds to a tap or click, 200 milliseconds or less; CLS, how much content shifts while loading, 0.1 or less. Uncompressed workshop photos and autoplaying sliders of old town views are the two things that usually hurt these scores most.
- Server location: If most visitors are in Turkey, host in Turkey; if traffic is mainly from abroad, add a content delivery network.
- Documents: Company profile PDFs should be compressed and loaded only when someone clicks, never with the page.
- Updates and backups: One named person is responsible for software updates; backups are stored off the server and restored once as a test.
- E-mail authentication: Without SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, quotes sent to large manufacturers can disappear in their spam filters.

09Site Structures for Eskisehir's Own Industries
Eskisehir's sector mix calls for a different page skeleton for each type of business. The examples below are structures we recommend for common business types in the province, not real client cases.
- Aerospace subcontractor: TEI, which builds Turkey's national aircraft engines, is based in Eskisehir. A shop machining parts for that kind of customer opens with what it machines: titanium and nickel alloys, the largest part envelope, approvals such as AS9100. Customer names give way to job descriptions like "engine casing components".
- Rail supplier: TÜRASAŞ built a domestic electric main line locomotive at its Eskisehir works, so a firm offering wiring harnesses, welding or coating can describe its rail experience on a dedicated page.
- Appliance parts maker: Product codes, materials and monthly capacity appear as short product cards, and the quote form accepts drawing files.
- Konak guesthouse: Room pages tell the story of the house honestly, including stairs and floor levels, with a direct inquiry form up front.
- Meerschaum carver: The carver, the technique and the one of a kind nature of each piece come first, followed by a shop that ships abroad.
We cover the manufacturer side in more depth on our website for manufacturers page. Some prime contractors restrict how suppliers use their logos or product images by contract; share those rules in the first call so the structure respects them from day one.
10Legal Basics: KVKK, Cookies and Online Sales
Every form, cookie and checkout step on the site needs matching legal text, and in Eskisehir the forms most often missing it are residence applications and supplier registrations. The texts must be ready before launch and describe what you actually do with the data.
- Information notice: Article 10 of KVKK, Turkey's data protection law No. 6698, requires a notice wherever personal data is collected, explaining who processes it and why. A residence application with a parent's phone number and a student's passport details falls squarely under it.
- Data minimization: A supplier form needs a tax number and a contact name, not a personal ID number; health information is special category data and should not be requested casually.
- Cookie consent: Visitors in the EU must give consent before non essential tracking, and Google requires consent mode for measurement and personalized advertising features for users in the European Economic Area.
- Distance selling: A workshop selling meerschaum to consumers online must show pre contract information and the right of withdrawal before checkout.
Selling to consumers abroad can bring the destination country's consumer rules into play; confirm the details with your legal adviser. The content of these texts is your responsibility and your adviser's; we make sure they sit in the right place, readable and linked to each form. Payments, shipping and returns are planned separately in our e-commerce service.
11Redesigning Without Losing Search Visibility
When an older Eskisehir company site is rebuilt, the main danger is deleting URLs that have brought visitors for years without redirecting them. Industrial pages found through product codes are especially vulnerable and can vanish from results within weeks.
- URL inventory: We list every current URL, the pages earning clicks in Search Console and the pages other sites link to.
- One to one mapping: Each old product or service URL gets its closest new equivalent; orphans go to the nearest category, not the home page.
- Permanent redirects: Mappings are set up as 301 redirects, which tell browsers and search engines the page has moved for good.
- Hidden staging: The draft site sits behind a password. A page blocked only in robots.txt cannot have its noindex read, so a page meant to stay out of the index must be crawlable and carry noindex.
- Post launch monitoring: For four weeks we watch the not found reports in Search Console and add any missed URLs.
Old catalog and certificate PDFs belong on the list too; their links often sit in prime contractors' supplier files for years,.
12Common Mistakes on Eskisehir Business Sites
Most problems on Eskisehir sites come from building for one audience and forgetting the others. Here are six recurring mistakes and what to do instead:
- An empty site out of caution: Instead of a supplier site that says only "quality production" because customer names are confidential, describe processes, materials and size limits concretely; job descriptions protect confidentiality well enough.
- Certificates as images: Instead of a scanned picture, write the certificate name, issuing body and expiry date as text and attach the original as a download.
- Late term pages: Instead of building the residence page in August, publish the availability page in spring and update it every year.
- Odunpazarı confusion: Instead of blurring the district and the historic quarter, state plainly which one your business is in, in the address and in the description.
- Turkish only for export buyers: Instead of showing French and German purchasing teams a Turkish site, adapt at least the capability and contact pages to their language.
- No inquiry tracking: Instead of guessing whether a quote request came from the website or a trade fair, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks separately from day one.
Several of these can be fixed by editing the existing site; sort them out before you commit to a redesign.
13What Drives the Budget, Without Numbers
Scope, not location, sets the cost of a web design project in Eskisehir; our prices are the same for a workshop there as for a company in Istanbul or a buyer abroad. These are the decisions that move the quote:
- Depth of capability content: A separate page for each process, machine group or product family adds writing and photography work.
- Number of languages: French or German on top of English means adapted copy and additional technical setup.
- Protected areas: A customer document area or supplier registration system needs user roles and a security plan.
- Online shop: A meerschaum store shipping abroad brings payment, shipping and multi currency pricing logic.
- Ready material: Texts, photos and certificates supplied by you shorten the timeline; new photography and writing extend it.
The sensible way to reduce scope is to launch first for the audience that brings the most inquiries. A supplier can start with Turkish and English capability pages and add French later; a residence can launch with room pages and an application form and add a campus guide in the second phase.
14The First 90 Days and Your Next Step
Launch day starts the measurement period rather than ending the project, and planning the first three months shows which audience really arrives.
- Month one: Check indexing and errors in Search Console and form and phone clicks in GA4; track supplier inquiries and student applications as separate conversions.
- Month two: Improve the most visited capability or room page and add fresh photos to the Business Profile.
- Month three: Plan content for the start of term, trade fairs or the summer season, and decide on a further language or advertising.
We hold a short video review each month. Bring your inquiries, for instance how many quote requests matched parts you can actually make, and we will see which page attracts the wrong audience. Changing one form field or sharpening one headline often does more than adding a page.
Before deciding, answer three questions: which audience brings the most revenue, what must stay confidential, and which language your buyers read. With those answers ready, you can review our fixed price packages in the web design pricing section and book a discovery call from Eskisehir or abroad through our contact page. After the call we send a written scope and quote.
