A business account in Kastamonu is seen within the same month by people who have never met: a hiker looking for a bed on the road to Pınarbaşı, a student asking about a cafe near Kuzeykent, a neighbor dialing a shopkeeper in the Taşköprü bazaar, and someone in a faraway city who wants pastirma or siyez bulgur delivered from home. Good social media management Kastamonu businesses can rely on has to serve all four without letting one crowd out another.
Talha Aslan and team wrote this guide for companies that run, or plan to run, accounts in the province, in the order decisions are made. Every section has questions to put to an agency, checks you can do yourself and examples that only make sense here. The work runs fully online; we have no office, representative or film crew in Kastamonu.
01The Four People Looking at Your Account
Start by knowing the audience. According to TÜİK's address based register, 379,934 people live in Kastamonu, against 249,614 in neighboring Karabük and 225,848 in Sinop. The population is spread over twenty districts: in the governorate's 2024 table the central district has 156,638 residents, about 41% of the province, Tosya has 39,401, Taşköprü 37,196, and the smallest district, Ağlı, 3,250.
- The bazaar customer: Lives in the same neighborhood or district and looks for hours, an address and a phone number.
- The student: Searches around Kuzeykent for cafes, courses, dormitories and rental flats.
- The traveler: Plans a canyon, town and coast route and looks for a bed and a meal.
- The buyer from outside: Orders the product from a distance and takes trust from the profile.
Sort the calls, messages and orders of the last twelve months into these four groups using your own records. Where most of the income comes from settles the priority of the account without guesswork. Most businesses that do this for the first time find a different picture from the one they expected.
The split matters inside the province too. A shopkeeper in Taşköprü serves the neighbor in their own bazaar, not someone driving in from the center, so a district account leads with the district name, market days and a phone number, while a business in the center must keep district customers in mind. That split is page one of any social media management Kastamonu plan.
02Platform Choice: Where Each Business Belongs
A platform is chosen by the moment in which the customer decides; being everywhere is not required. For a cafe, course or shop in the center Instagram is the shop window, because guests look at the venue, the room or the product there first. In a province of twenty districts, though, the phone and WhatsApp matter as much as a beautiful Instagram feed.
- Instagram: Short video for discovery, carousels for rooms and products, highlights for fixed information.
- Google Business Profile: Hours, address, photos and posts for the person searching the map.
- Facebook: District announcements, tradesmen's groups and local event information.
- A WhatsApp line: The shortest path for questions, orders and bookings.
- LinkedIn: A company page, capacity and team content for wood product and industrial zone firms.
- TikTok: Makes sense when someone can shoot short route, production or kitchen clips.
A dance trend for a machine workshop or a LinkedIn page for a guesthouse wastes energy. Running one channel steadily is sturdier than leaving three half done; open the second when the rhythm of the first has settled.
Check who opened each account, too. Accounts tied to an old phone number or a former employee's e-mail address should be moved to the owner first, with two step verification switched on. Team access is granted through each platform's official access screen; sharing a password is neither safe nor needed.
03A Local Content Calendar: From September to Harvest, from Snow to Coast
Kastamonu's calendar rests on seasons that return every year rather than on one year's events. That is why a calendar should be drawn around your busy and quiet weeks without tying it to a given year. The order below is a starting frame, and every business shifts it toward its own weight.
- September: Directions, hours and a welcome for students who have just arrived for the term.
- Spring and autumn: Canyon and plateau walks in the Küre Mountains, with stopover and lodging content.
- Summer: Route and beach closeness for guests heading to the İnebolu, Cide and Abana coast.
- Winter: Lodging, travel notes and quiet week content for guests going up Ilgaz Mountain.
- Harvest time: Field and packing footage for garlic, siyez and other regional products.
District stories belong in the calendar as well: the Taşköprü bazaar has its own rhythm, and Tosya, Araç and Daday have their own tradespeople. One fixed post a month per district gives customers there the feeling that this is their place.
A calendar sheet starts with three columns: when, for whom, which question it answers. One sentence lines such as "spring, hiker, where to sleep" are enough. As the lines fill in, the empty months show up; quiet months tend to stay blank, though they are the easiest time for preparation, team and production content. Social media management Kastamonu style fills those gaps on purpose.
04How Content Is Produced When the Team Works Remotely
If the team is not in Kastamonu, the business shoots, or a photographer you choose does. We write the shot list, templates and captions, edit what comes back, place it in the calendar and put it to you for approval before publishing. We never say we send a local crew, because we do not have one.
- On the first call we write down the four audiences and three to five topics for each.
- For every topic we draft a short shooting note: what to film, from which angle, in which light, for how many seconds.
- On one shooting day the business or the photographer collects all the notes and drops the files into a shared folder.
- We edit, write the captions, place everything in the calendar and send the approval link.
- You approve or ask for changes, and only then is publishing scheduled.
A short list written in advance for fleeting moments, such as a canyon road turning green after rain, a harvest day or a snowy morning, also lets phone shots fit the plan. A phone clip that is well lit, held upright and kept steady is enough for most jobs.
When you choose a photographer, fix the scope in writing: how many frames, which resolution and who holds the usage rights. If the rights stay with the person who shot, do not publish without written permission.
05Comments, Messages and the Handoff to WhatsApp
In Kastamonu a message is often the last step before a booking. A hiker writes "is there a room this weekend", a student "what time do you close in exam week", a buyer from another city "how many days does the pastirma keep". If the reply is late, the customer moves to another profile. That is why we write the reply guide in advance and approve it with the business.
- Frequent questions: Ready but adaptable replies for hours, address, directions, parking, orders and shipping.
- Handoff: Every conversation that needs a booking, an order or a price moves to the phone or the business's WhatsApp line.
- Complaints: No arguing, a polite and short first reply, and the owner informed the same day.
- Language: A short answer in English or German to a guest who writes in it, and a phone handoff if the talk grows.
The one who confirms the table, the room or the order is always the business; we keep records, route messages and list pending conversations at the end of the day. The accounts stay yours, and you add our team through the platform's official access screen.
06Google Business Profile: The First Answer for the Map Searcher
A guest on the way looks at the map first. In the Google profile the business name must match the name in the real world, with no keywords added to it; this is part of Google's profile guidelines. When address, hours and phone are identical to the website, the Instagram bio and the highlights, down to the letter, trust rises.
- Posts: A seasonal menu, room, product or walking note; short information that helps on the map, not a copy of Instagram.
- Photos: Entrance, parking, room, plate and signboard, refreshed before the season opens.
- Special days: Holiday and season closing hours entered in advance.
- Reviews: Answered in the language they were written in, briefly and concretely.
A reply to a review is also the venue's shop window. Instead of getting defensive about a negative review, write two sentences that accept what happened and show the fix. Do not give discounts or gifts in return for reviews, and never ask for fake ones.
We track views of profile posts as a separate line in the monthly report. The count of calls and direction requests from the map is often a more reliable hint than Instagram likes, because it shows the intention to set out.
07Languages: When Turkish, When English or German
The main language of a Kastamonu account is Turkish; bazaar customers, students and townspeople from outside the province read Turkish. A second language is added to an account that has a real need for it. The need comes from your orders and your guest book: if hiking groups arrive from abroad or you ship to a country such as Germany, a short note in English and German helps.
- Short caption: A one or two sentence note in English or German at the end of the post.
- Subtitles: Foreign language subtitles for route and production videos.
- Fixed information: Address, hours and directions in two languages in the highlights.
- Replies: A short answer in whichever language the guest wrote.
Filling a Turkish account with half learned foreign languages builds less trust than writing a little but correctly. We do not publish machine translation as it comes out; someone who knows the language well reads the text.
Before adding another language, check whether a real customer or guest uses it. If a German speaking buyer has ordered, a German note makes sense; a language nobody writes in only adds upkeep.
08Examples from Kastamonu's Sectors
Social media management Kastamonu businesses need splits into four kinds of account, because the province's economy produces four different customers, and the content of each differs. The examples below are a general frame, not a client study; we manage no business account in Kastamonu today.
- Guesthouse and mountain lodge: The room, breakfast, parking and distance to the canyon become content. A walk depends on difficulty and weather, so no safety promise is made and road conditions point to the official source. See the bungalow page for similar structures.
- Regional food producer: According to the provincial agriculture and forestry directorate's report, the province has about twenty protected regional foods, and siyez is Slow Food's first Presidium product in Turkey. A producer account shows the field, the packing and the shipping; details are on the farm page.
- Cafe and course: Three separate rhythms for term start, exam week and the break. The course center page points the way for courses.
- Wood product firm: In a province where forest covers 73% of the land, a panel or furniture maker shows species, dimensions and capacity.
The page a visitor lands on after tapping the profile is part of the plan; for product and route pages see our Kastamonu web design page. When account and site give the same information, a guest never has to ask twice.
09Collaborations and the Advertising Label
Inviting a local creator or a hiking blogger is a common route in Kastamonu, and it is bound by rules. Under the influencer article of the amendment to the Regulation on Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices, published in the Official Gazette on 1 July 2026, advertising made through a social media influencer must carry either the word "Reklam" or the word "Tanıtım".
- Consideration: A post in return for money, lodging, a meal or a product can count as advertising.
- Label: "Reklam" or "Tanıtım" written in a visible place.
- Brief: What may be said and what may not is given in writing.
- Check: After publishing, the label and the accuracy of the information are reviewed.
The collaboration itself is set up on the influencer marketing side; on the account side we run the brief, the label and the check after publishing.
When you post a discount for services such as lodging, courses or tours, the earlier price shown is the price applied just before the discount, and the start and end dates of the discount are stated; this rule has applied since 1 August 2026. An expired discount post is removed at once.
10Consent, Privacy and Copyright
Filming in Kastamonu often means working in someone else's venue, close to someone else's face. Under KVKK, the party processing personal data provides an information notice, and pictures of customers, students or children are not shared without explicit consent. For staff images we take written approval as well.
- Students and customers: Explicit consent if a face is visible, a changed frame if someone recognizable is in the background.
- Children: No image is shared without a parent's consent.
- Music: A song used in Reels needs a license; stay inside the music library the platform offers business accounts.
- Image copyright: Photos, maps or logos taken from the internet are not used without permission.
- Places of worship: At places where people pray, such as the Mahmut Bey Mosque, filming respects prayer times and the privacy of those present.
For products with a geographical indication, we suggest confirming the usage terms of the indication and its logo with the registered owner. Claims such as the health effects of garlic or wheat are not written without a source.
Before publishing we run a three question checklist: is a recognizable person in the frame and is permission in hand, are the music and image licensed, and are the price, hours and claims still true today? Until all three answers are yes, the post waits in the calendar. This simple sequence lowers the legal and platform risk of an account.
11Measurement and the Monthly Report
The number of likes is not enough for a decision. In Kastamonu the real question is which post brought a call, a message or an order. The monthly report puts reach, saves, shares, profile visits and link clicks side by side, and then checks which of them matches the requests recorded by the business.
- Add a UTM tag to the bio link so you can see which post led to the site or an order.
- In the Google profile, follow search, direction requests and call button taps separately.
- Pass the questions that arrive by message to the phone or WhatsApp, and note which turned into a booking or an order.
- At month end compare the three most saved posts with the format that helped least.
- Drop one format next month and try one new one.
The numbers come from your own records; we do not make them up. We promise nothing about follower growth, reach or visitor counts, because those sit in the hands of the platform and the season.
The report meeting stays short: what worked, what did not, and which seasonal note moves up next month. In social media management Kastamonu businesses can use, the value of a report lies not in the number of tables but in the decision taken for the next month.
12Six Common Mistakes in Kastamonu
When we review accounts for social media management in Kastamonu, we see the same mistakes return. Each has a way out.
- Silence out of season: The account falls quiet when the snow goes. Instead, post harvest, preparation and team content at a light rhythm.
- Treating every district alike: Taşköprü and Cide do not speak the same language. Instead, bring the district name and its bazaar into the content.
- Hiding the phone: Leaving only an Instagram message. Instead, put the call and WhatsApp links in the bio.
- Stale information: Last year's price, a closed road or a changed hour. Instead, set aside one day each month to sweep the information.
- A safety promise: The sentence "the walk is safe". Instead, point to the official source for road and weather conditions.
- An unlabeled invitation: A post for a stay left without a label. Instead, have "Reklam" or "Tanıtım" written from the start.
Most of these mistakes are not expensive but quiet; the account looks alive while the customer cannot reach the phone. That is why the last line of the monthly report should always be "what did we fix this month".
Do not try to fix all six at once. Put the gaps from the account review in order of weight: contact details and profile consistency first, then the content lines, the second channel last. A plan that moves in sequence lasts longer than one big cleanup.
13Choosing a Partner and the First 90 Days
Even if an agency has managed no account in Kastamonu, a good partner puts the process in writing. Ask the agency: whose account is it, who shoots, who replies and what does the report measure? Accounts that stay with you, access granted through official panels and no promised results belong at the top of your checklist.
- Month one: Account review, choosing the four audiences, matching information and the shot list.
- Month two: The first batch shoot, the reply guide and the first content calendar.
- Month three: The first report, the formats that work and the decision on a second channel.
When choosing a partner for social media management Kastamonu businesses need, ask for references, but read them properly. An agency that has not run an account in this province and says so openly is being honest; be careful with one that claims it has worked here but cannot explain who owns the account, who holds access and what the report contains. We show no account managed in this province and give the method and scope in writing.
If paid boosting is needed, it is a separate job described on the Meta ads management page. For the neighboring nature and coast route, see social media management in Bartın. For packages see the pricing section, and to describe your business write to us. In a free call we go through your account together and send a written scope and quote.
