Social Media Management in Erzurum

Whoever opens a business account in Erzurum usually arrives through one of three doors: a student who has just moved in and needs a cafe, a course or a barber; a family from another city comparing hotels, gear and ski schools at Palandöken as winter approaches; or a buyer looking for an order route for local cheese, sweets and Oltu stone. Talha Aslan and team set up social media management in Erzurum around exactly those moments: posts that name the neighborhood, replies that are not left waiting, hours and addresses that match the map, and a table you read at the end of every month.

In short

Social media management in Erzurum means running an account for a province of 736,877 people by district, student term and ski season. Most residents live in Yakutiye, Palandöken and Aziziye, and students, winter guests and buyers of local products ask different questions. The accounts remain yours, the filming is done by you or a photographer you hire, and planning, replies and reporting happen remotely. No promise is made about followers, reach or occupancy.

Erzurum's social media audience

Who follows your account in Erzurum?

District populations, university records and official tourism pages show that an account in Erzurum speaks to four audiences at once: residents of the central districts, students, winter guests, and people looking for local products or day trips. Each looks in a different season, with a different intent, and mostly on a phone.

Population: Erzurum and two neighboring provinces (2025)TÜİK, Address Based Population Registration System results of 31 December 2025 (province list: Sarisivat)
  • Erzurum736,877
  • Kars268,991
  • Erzincan239,625

Three central districts and two Palandökens

According to TÜİK records, Erzurum had 736,877 residents at the end of 2025. Yakutiye (189,149), Palandöken (181,922) and Aziziye (71,827) together hold roughly 60 percent of them. Palandöken is both a district and the name of the ski resort, so a post needs to say which one it means: neighborhood language for residents, resort language for winter guests.

A student audience that renews every fall

Atatürk University was founded on 7 June 1957, and Erzurum Technical University lists 5,945 students in the statistics section of its own site. For cafes, stationers, courses and barbers this means an audience that renews each fall, works long hours in exam weeks and thins out in the holidays, so an account needs a welcome period, a busy week and a quiet stretch tied to the academic calendar.

Palandöken, Konaklı and Kandilli

According to the provincial culture and tourism directorate, Palandöken is 10 minutes from the city with 44 pistes and 51 kilometers of ski terrain, and the area has three five star, four four star and one three star hotel. Konaklı is 17 and Kandilli 36 kilometers away. Hotel, ski school, rental and cafe accounts should show winter guests the route, the slopes and the facility while they are still deciding; snow conditions should come from official announcements, not from the account.

Skiing in winter, history and nature in summer

The same directorate highlights the Twin Minaret Madrasa, Yakutiye Madrasa, Three Tombs, Erzurum Castle, Tortum Waterfall and the Narman fairy chimneys, while the state meteorological service classifies Erzurum winters as very cold and summers as mild. For guides, tour operators and lodging this means skiing content in winter and route and nature content in summer; an account that posts only about winter goes quiet for half the year.

Our proposed setup

An account flow that knows the neighborhood, the season and the guest

An Erzurum account aimed at a single audience is aimed at the wrong person for half the year. We therefore divide the content into three calendars: the fall calendar meets students with everyday needs around lectures, exams and dorms; the winter calendar answers questions about slopes, transfers, lodging and gear before the season opens; the summer calendar shows the madrasas, the tombs, the waterfall and the local table as a route.

Filming happens at your venue, by you or by a photographer you hire. The list of what to shoot, the templates and the captions come from us; we cut the returned footage, slot it into the calendar and put it up for your sign off. We make no claim of sending a crew to Erzurum; everything is managed remotely.

You remain the owner of every account and give our team access through each platform's official permission screens. The page a visitor reaches from your profile is a website matter, while paid promotion is planned on its own under Meta ads management.

  • Separate location and neighborhood language for Yakutiye, Palandöken and Aziziye
  • Three calendars: student term, ski season and summer routes
  • Turkish as the main language, English and German captions when needed
  • Same hours, address and phone on the profile, highlights and Google profile posts
  • A reply guide for messages and a handoff to phone or WhatsApp

The model that fits you

Do you work in the city, in ski season or in local production?

The method is the same for all three; what changes is where your customer is and in which season the decision is made.

In the city

A business around a neighborhood or the campus

The customer usually lives a few streets away and checks on a phone.

  • Posts written with the neighborhood and district name
  • Quiet and busy weeks tied to lectures and exams
  • Inquiries go straight to the business

Ski season

Lodging, gear or ski lessons around Palandöken

The decision is made weeks before the season in another city; winter is busy and summer is quiet.

  • Rooms, packages, slope distance and transfers in a pinned post
  • English captions and subtitles as an option
  • Content built up before the season, a light rhythm after it

Local production

A maker or workshop selling cheese, sweets, meat or Oltu stone

The buyer wants to see the product, understand where it comes from and know how to order.

  • The making and the story of origin
  • A clear order and shipping route on the profile
  • A registered name is used only if you hold the right

Specific to Erzurum

Erzurum businesses that need social media management most

The work below comes from the province's winter sports, its universities, its registered cuisine and its crafts.

Ski hotels, gear and ski schools

Content showing rooms, packages, slope distance and transfers from the city center or airport around Palandöken and Konaklı; details on the hotel page. We link snow and slope conditions to the facility's official announcement instead of stating them ourselves.

Tours, guides and day trips

Short videos that lay out the Twin Minaret Madrasa and Three Tombs stretch and stops outside the city, such as Tortum Waterfall and the Narman fairy chimneys, as a route; see day tour.

Cağ kebab, su böreği and kadayıf dolması

Oltu Cağ Kebabı was registered in 2010, Erzurum Kadayıf Dolması in 2012 and Erzurum Su Böreği in 2020. Kitchen, craft and table content is the core material of restaurant and pastry shop accounts; see restaurant and cafe and pastry shop. We write a registered name only if you hold the right to use it.

Cheese, meat, dairy and Oltu stone

For family producers of civil cheese and sausage, dairies and the Oltu stone masters who make prayer beads, mouthpieces and necklaces at Taşhan: the making, the order route and shipping information; details on the farm business page.

Courses, cafes and dorm surroundings of a student city

A welcome in fall enrollment, long hours in exam weeks, a quiet rhythm in the holidays; see course center.

How we work

Our approach to Erzurum accounts

There is no Erzurum business whose account we run yet, so we do not show a client example from the province. How we work is set out below, and what we have done in other cities is on the references page.

We get to know your guest first

Is your customer a student, a ski vacationer, a traveler or someone from the neighborhood? We hear it from you and draw the content lines around the answer.

We build the shoot around your capacity

Whoever holds the camera, the list of what to film and the templates come from us; the footage you deliver is edited and goes to you for approval.

We tie season and inquiries to a guide

Who answers which question, in which language, within how many hours; and who updates hours and rates when the season opens and closes, written before we start.

We read, prune and simplify

At month end we read together which posts were saved and which brought inquiries, and we let go of the format with nothing to show.

In-depth guide

Social Media Management Erzurum: A Guide for Students, Skiers and the Local Table

Talha Aslan and teamLast updated: 15 min read

Social media management Erzurum work asks one account to speak to three different people across the year. The student who moves in each September, the family comparing hotels at Palandöken as winter approaches and the traveler planning a summer route through history and nature all open the same profile, yet they ask very different questions.

This guide goes beyond the summary on the page and works through platforms, calendar, language, production and measurement for Erzurum specifically. Everything runs online, and the filming is done by you or a photographer you choose. The general frame of the service is on the social media management page.

The Four Audiences Behind Your Erzurum Account

Social media management Erzurum businesses need starts with a simple fact: the people who open your account fall into four groups: residents of the central districts, students, winter guests, and people looking for local products or day trips. TÜİK's address based records show 736,877 residents in Erzurum at the end of 2025, against 268,991 in neighboring Kars and 239,625 in Erzincan. Because Erzurum is one of the region's larger centers, accounts speak to people outside the province too.

Producing content without knowing the audience is like leaving the same letter at every door. Start from your own records and write down what each group expects of you:

  • Resident customer: comes from the neighborhood, calls by phone and expects hours and address to be correct.
  • Student: looks for a new cafe, course or barber in the fall and for places that stay open late in exam weeks.
  • Winter guest: plans from another city and asks about rooms, distance to the slopes and transfers by message.
  • Buyer of local products: wants to see where the product comes from and how to order it.

To learn which group writes to you most, read your inbox for one month. The subjects of those questions shape your content lines far more clearly than a follower count, and that record is the base for every decision in the sections below.

A single post that tries to address a student and a tour company at once usually convinces neither. Good social media management Erzurum planning therefore pictures one reader per post.

Choosing Platforms: What Fits Whom

The customer decides the platform, not the trend of the month. For a service business inside the city, Instagram and Google profile posts are the first two channels; for a producer with wholesale buyers, LinkedIn and WhatsApp come first. Before choosing, ask where your customer first sees you and where they finish their decision.

  • Instagram: the shop window for cafes, courses, salons, hotels and ski schools; hours, location and the inquiry route live in the highlights.
  • Google profile posts: speak to guests and students who find you on the map; hours and phone must match the account.
  • TikTok: opens slope, kitchen and craft moments to discovery through short video; the order or booking route must be clear in the bio.
  • Facebook: useful for announcements and events in neighborhood groups.
  • LinkedIn: makes sense only for suppliers, producers or recruiters with a company audience.

You do not have to run everything at once. Two channels kept steady and correct do more than five channels left half done. Social media management Erzurum businesses can sustain begins with the rhythm the owner and team can really keep, and the third channel is added once the first two run smoothly.

Location Language: Yakutiye, Palandöken and Aziziye

In Erzurum, location language starts with three central districts, and the name most often confused is Palandöken. TÜİK's 2025 records give Yakutiye 189,149 residents, Palandöken 181,922 and Aziziye 71,827, together roughly 60 percent of the province. Palandöken is both the name of a district and of the ski resort, so a post must say which one it means.

In practice, "in the Palandöken district" is enough for a neighborhood cafe, while a ski hotel needs "near Palandöken Ski Center". The location tag always points to the real address, and you never tag a place where you do not serve. When you build a location line, follow this order:

  1. Write your official address and district in one sentence.
  2. Pick a well known point nearby, for example the Twin Minaret Madrasa in the historic center.
  3. State the transport information once and pin it.
  4. If you serve customers outside the center, use district names such as Horasan, Oltu, Pasinler, Aşkale or Tortum only for places you really serve.

Neighborhood stories belong here too: a shopkeeper opening in the morning, a cafe on an exam night near campus, a lodge on the Palandöken road at the first snow. We promise no reach or ranking from hashtags; they only describe the topic.

Three Calendars Across the Year

A single yearly calendar is not enough in Erzurum, because the state meteorological service classifies the province's winters as very cold and its summers as mild, and what the customer needs changes with the season. Splitting a social media management Erzurum plan into a fall, a winter and a summer calendar is the simplest way to speak to the right person in each period. We do not lean on dated events; we build around patterns that return every year.

  • Fall calendar: welcoming students, the dorm surroundings, the enrollment period and the exam week rhythm.
  • Winter calendar: questions about slopes, transport, lodging and gear, answered before the season opens.
  • Summer calendar: madrasas, tombs, the castle, Tortum Waterfall and the local table as a route.
  • Transition weeks: updating hours, rates and the pinned post when the season opens and closes.

Write the quiet weeks into the calendar as well. For each period, write one main question: in fall, "is this near me", in winter, "how are the slopes and rooms", in summer, "where can I go". If a post answers one of them, the plan stays simple and useful.

The same seasonal pages should stand on your website in the same order, so see the Erzurum web design page; a visitor from your account should find the same information there.

Winter Season: Hotels, Gear and Ski Schools

Winter content should answer the question a guest asks at the moment of decision. According to the provincial culture and tourism directorate, Palandöken is 10 minutes from the city with 44 pistes and 51 kilometers of ski terrain, and the area has three five star, four four star and one three star hotel. Konaklı is 17 and Kandilli 36 kilometers away. A family from another city wants these distances before arriving.

For hotel and ski school accounts, the pinned posts hold room types, distance to the slopes, transfers from the city center and the airport, the rental route and an inquiry form. A detailed example is on the hotel page. Three rules apply to a winter account:

  • Link snow and slope conditions to the facility's official announcement instead of stating them yourself.
  • When you post a package or discount for a service, show the price applied just before the discount and the start and end dates of the discount.
  • When the season ends, move winter posts into archived highlights and refresh them for reuse at opening.

Gear rental and ski lessons carry their own value, because these businesses often stay in the hotel's shadow. Short videos that show how equipment is handed over, how lessons are scheduled and what first time skiers will meet build trust quickly. If a customer's face appears, get consent. Off season, a separate line for groups, camps and meetings keeps the account alive all year.

Content for a Student City: Cafes, Courses and Dorm Surroundings

An account for students follows three rhythms of the academic calendar: a welcome in fall, long hours in exam weeks and a quiet flow in the holidays. Atatürk University was founded on 7 June 1957, and Erzurum Technical University shows 5,945 students in the statistics section of its own site. These two universities renew the customer base of cafes, stationers, courses and salons every fall.

For the fall welcome, the new student's question is simple: is it close, is it open, is it affordable? Answer it with a short video that shows the walk from campus and the opening hours. For courses with an enrollment season, details are on the course center page.

  • Fall: a welcome video, hours and location, an introduction aimed at the new student.
  • Exam week: late opening hours, a quiet study corner, short announcements.
  • Holidays: a light flow aimed at residents and remaining customers.

Any price you post for a student budget must be current; remove a story that carries an expired one. For courses, the program, enrollment date and contact route stay in a pinned post. Get consent for student images, and watch for recognizable faces in crowd shots near campus.

Cuisine, Registered Names, Producers and Oltu Stone

Erzurum's regional table and crafts make strong content material, but registered names need care. According to the ATA Food Journal survey, Erzurum had 27 products with a geographical indication as of June 2022. Oltu Cağ Kebabı was registered in 2010, Erzurum Kadayıf Dolması in 2012 and Erzurum Su Böreği in 2020. Restaurant and pastry accounts can adapt the approach of the restaurant page.

According to the TÜRKPATENT record, the applicant for Oltu Cağ Kebabı is the Oltu Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Until your right to use a registered name or emblem is clear, do not refer to the registration; describe the product through its making and local character. For producers and craftspeople, these points work:

  • Cheese and meat producer: show pasture, dairy, packing and the order route; pin the shipping information.
  • Oltu stone master: the provincial directorate says prayer beads, mouthpieces and necklaces are sold at Taşhan; show the workshop moment and product detail up close.
  • Pastry cook and restaurant: the master's hands, the oven and the serving moment, with menu and hours.

Plain footage of the work builds the most trust on a producer's account: a cheese ripening rack, a stone being polished, dough being rolled. Put how to order and how shipping works in a pinned post. For goods, the reference price in a discount is the lowest price of the last 10 days, so check that rule before you post a promotion.

Producing Content When the Team Works Remotely

Our team is not in Erzurum, yet production still runs in order: someone from your business or a photographer you choose does the filming, and we prepare what to shoot, how to shoot it and what to write. We do not say we will send a crew to Erzurum. Each shoot day can be timed to a season and yields material for many weeks.

  1. A monthly shot list is prepared, with venue, product, team and customer moments under separate headings.
  2. You or your photographer complete the list on one shoot day.
  3. We select, edit and place the footage into templates.
  4. The calendar and captions go to you for approval; you change or confirm them.
  5. Approved content is scheduled for publishing.

A winter hotel shoots before the season, a student cafe before fall, so ready content is waiting when the busy week arrives. Three or four templates are enough, such as announcement, product or service, and team or customer moment; fonts, colors and logo stay fixed while the photographs come from your venue each time. Templates also keep updates short when a menu or hours change.

If you work with a photographer, send the shot list in advance and settle usage rights in writing.

Community Management and Your Google Profile

How you answer comments and messages is the most visible shop window of the account. A guest in Erzurum often writes from another city and expects a quick reply, while a student asks in the evening. Together we write a reply guide: who answers which question, in which language and within how many hours. The guide separates three kinds of messages:

  • Price and availability questions: start with a ready sentence, then hand over to a phone or WhatsApp line.
  • Complaints: answered without argument, with the way to a solution and a contact channel.
  • Positive reviews: mention the detail the guest raised instead of repeating one sentence each time.

On the Google profile, hours, address and phone must match the account. When seasonal hours change, we correct the profile the same day. We reply to a review in the language it was written in and never buy reviews; the business always confirms the table, the room or the appointment.

Work out from your own records when messages peak: for a winter hotel the weeks near opening, for a student cafe the start of fall and exam weeks. In those periods the handoff rule is tightened. A message that signals a crisis is passed to you without delay.

Languages: Turkish, English and German

Turkish stays the main language, and English or German is added only when the need shows in your records. If someone from abroad writes to you or asks about a booking, subtitles and a short description are often enough. We read which language is needed from incoming messages and bookings rather than guessing.

For accuracy, the person who reads and approves a translation is named in advance, from your side or a translator you choose. Prices, hours and cancellation terms are where a translation breaks most easily, so they are checked separately. A simple distribution looks like this:

  • Turkish: the main language for residents, students and guests from within the country.
  • English: subtitles and short descriptions for ski guests, travelers and international students.
  • German: only when needed, for people writing from abroad or buyers who work with Germany.

A second language layer on the same video is enough; it does not mean opening a new account. Keep English descriptions short and built on hours, address and transport; practical facts help a foreign guest more than sales language.

We do not suggest content in other languages. A language that cannot be managed means unanswered messages and weakens trust in the account.

Collaborations, Labels, Consent and Music

A paid or product for post collaboration can count as advertising in Turkey and, under the Regulation on Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices, must carry the label "Reklam" or "Tanıtım"; the amendment was published in the Official Gazette of 1 July 2026, No. 33297. Write that label into the brief before working with a local creator. For the process, see the influencer marketing page.

On the personal data side, consent under KVKK is obtained for images of customers, staff and students, and a child's image needs a parent's approval. For music, Meta's music rules apply and the song playing in your venue is not copied into a video. A practical checklist:

  • Bring a written consent form to the shoot day.
  • Check the label of a collaboration post before it goes live.
  • Do not use a licensed song on a business account.
  • Remove the image of anyone who withdraws consent.

If a creator or student account shares you and you gave something in return, assume it may be advertising, and check the post after publication so a missing label is fixed fast. Buying followers, comments or engagement breaks platform rules and is not recommended.

Measurement and the Monthly Report

In social media management Erzurum success is not the like but the interest that turns into a table, a room or an order. The monthly report follows the chain from reach to message, and we make no promises about outcomes. Some numbers come from the platform, others from your records.

  • Reach and saves: show whether the content attracted interest.
  • Profile visits and direction requests: show intent arriving from the map and the profile.
  • Link clicks: when you put a UTM tag on the bio link, you can see which content led to the website.
  • Messages and calls: the number of requests handed to a phone or WhatsApp line.

Do not read too much into a single month: a winter hotel's season week cannot be compared with early December. We compare with the same season of the previous period, and every number carries a period note.

At the month end call we discuss what held, what to drop and the priority for next month. Paid boosting is a separate decision and, when needed, is planned under Meta ads management.

Common Mistakes of Erzurum Businesses on Social Media

The same six mistakes repeat on most accounts in Erzurum, and each has an easy alternative.

  • Posting only about winter: build a separate summer calendar of route and nature content.
  • Mixing up the name Palandöken: separate the district and the ski resort clearly in each post.
  • The account stating snow conditions: link to the facility's official announcement.
  • Using a registered name without the right: describe the product through its making and local character.
  • Skipping the fall welcome: put the student period at the start of the calendar.
  • Leaving replies to the busy hour: set up a reply guide and a phone handoff.

The last one costs the most on student and guest accounts: a message answered late usually means a customer who already went elsewhere.

Most of these mistakes come from workload, not ignorance. At the start of a season nobody has time to look at the account, so write the checklist down and assign it to one person; what matters is that responsibility is clear.

Choosing a Partner and the First 90 Days

When choosing a partner, the first question is whether they understand Erzurum's seasons and how they will work remotely. Our team is not in Erzurum and we say so openly; instead we offer a written shot list, an approval routine and a monthly report. Ask any partner: who keeps the accounts, who does the filming, who answers, and how do we read the numbers?

  1. Month one: account review, audience and district language, the reply guide and the first calendar.
  2. Month two: the first shoot day, templates and aligning the profile details.
  3. Month three: the first report, keeping the format that works and preparing for the season.

At the end of the first 90 days, expect clear answers to a few questions: which content was saved, which brought messages, and at what hour did replies slip? If the answers are vague, the measurement routine was not set up. In social media management Erzurum teams run, the aim of the first report is not to praise the result but to make a decision for month two.

Knowing which business peaks in which season sets the plan right from the start. For scope and packages, look at the pricing section, and to review your account together, write through the contact page.
