The social media audience of Moers

Who looks at your profile in Moers and what are they after?

The city's resident register counted 108,331 people with a main or secondary residence at the end of 2025, while Destatis lists 101,503 for the end of 2024. Behind these numbers stand four groups that use a business profile in very different ways.

Population, 31 December 2024: the three largest cities in Kreis WeselDestatis, municipal directory 31 Dec 2024
  • Moers101,503
  • Dinslaken66,993
  • Wesel60,785

The middle generations and the older ones

According to the register, 24.5% of residents are between 25 and under 45, 28.2% between 45 and under 65, and 24.7% are 65 or older; the group from 18 to under 25 makes up 6.3%. For your account this means working people and families want hours, appointments and directions in seconds, and because 52.9% are at least 45 years old, we plan Instagram and Facebook side by side instead of Reels alone.

Turkish speaking neighbors

The register shows 4,030 people with Turkish citizenship in Moers, 25.1% of the 16,052 foreign residents and the largest group. The figure counts passports only and leaves out German citizens who speak Turkish. For your account this means a hair salon, grocery, driving school or travel agency with Turkish speaking regulars keeps a short Turkish line next to the German one, written in the voice of the neighborhood rather than translated.

A city center that runs on a weekly rhythm

The old town around the Altmarkt, the pedestrian zone Steinstraße and the Neumarkt with its weekly market on Tuesdays and Fridays form the core. At the city festivals Moerser Frühling and Moerser Herbst, on the first weekends of April and October, shops open on Sunday, and on four Sundays a year the flea market fills the center with more than 300 stalls. For your account this means opening hours for festival Sundays and window news go out before the day, not on it.

Festival, castle and leisure

At Pentecost the moers festival brings musicians from many countries to town, the Christmas market stands in front of the castle backdrop, the castle houses the Grafschafter Museum and the Schlosstheater, and Solimare has an outdoor pool, an activity pool and an ice rink. For your account this means visitors from outside look for place, time and directions; a short English line and a location tag at the castle or Kastell help more than a long text.

How we work

Our team is in Istanbul, your Moers account runs fully online

We have no branch, representative or staff in Moers; the team in Istanbul does everything online. The first call, plan approval and monthly review take place by video. Turkey is one hour ahead of Germany in summer and two hours ahead in winter, so we put meetings outside consulting hours, market hours and shop opening times.

The photos and videos are made by you or by a photographer you pick yourself. We deliver the shot list for a window change, market stall, practice team or workshop, together with image formats, templates and draft texts, edit the chosen footage and place the posts in the calendar. The accounts stay with you and we get access through the official role features of the platforms.

The page where visitors from the networks land is the job of web design for Moers; paid reach is planned separately under Meta Ads.

The plan at a glance
  1. Profile review and audience check by video call
  2. German main line, Turkish and English lines where needed
  3. Shot list and templates for you or a photographer you choose
  4. Reply guide for comments and messages
  5. Monthly report with profile visits, link clicks and inquiries from messages

The right management model

A shop in the center, a practice or a company in a business park?

The method stays the same; what changes is the rhythm, the language and what a post is meant to trigger.

Shop in the center

Specialty shop, bakery, salon or cafe in the old town and on Steinstraße

Customers arrive on foot and decide shortly before the visit.

  • Hours for weekly market days and festival Sundays
  • Window news as stories
  • A short path from message to phone call

Practice and care

Doctor's practice, physiotherapy or care service

The profile explains, informs and recruits skilled staff without promising cures.

  • Team, process and hours made clear
  • Job posts as a team story
  • Measured replies to reviews

Business park

Freight, supplier, trade or car dealer in Hülsdonk, Genend and Pattberg

Buyers and applicants check team, services and certificates.

  • LinkedIn page with team and site
  • Apprenticeships and jobs as a rhythm
  • Capture inquiries through link tracking

Special to Moers

The Moers businesses that need social media most

Health care, the city center, the business parks and cultural life decide what an account in Moers should show first.

Practices, physiotherapy and care

According to the city's statistics, health and social services have the most employees in Moers. Information, team introductions and the search for skilled staff come before advertising; the setup is shown by social media for doctors and the physiotherapist page.

Shops, salons and cafes in the center

Retail accounts for the most businesses in Moers. Market days, city festivals and flea market Sundays create a calendar that posts can use in advance; for an example setup see social media for hairdressers and bakeries and pastry shops.

Industry and logistics in the business parks

According to the city statistics, 926 businesses were based in business parks in 2024, mostly in Hülsdonk and Genend. Team, training and location as a story for buyers and applicants: social media for industrial companies and logistics.

Food and events around the castle and the festival

Hours, directions and program for visitors from outside, dishes and rooms in pictures; more under social media for restaurants and event companies.

How we work

Our approach for Moers accounts

We do not manage an account in Moers yet, so we show no client reference here. How we work is below; work from Türkiye is on the references page.

First we clarify who is watching and in which language

In the first call we settle whether your customers come from the neighborhood, from the business park or from outside and which language they read; the content lines follow from that.

We plan the shoots from a distance

The shot list, formats and templates come from us. Camera and place stay with you or with a photographer you choose; we do not claim a team in Moers.

The rules are fixed before the post

We check the imprint link, consent of people shown, music rights and the labelling of advertising before publishing. We turn down bought followers and review swaps.

Every month we look at what brought inquiries

Together we review saves, profile visits and messages, drop formats without effect and keep what triggers calls and visits.

In-depth guide

Social media management Moers: a guide to districts, festivals and languages

Talha Aslan and teamLast updated: 15 min read

An account in Moers writes for a city made up of districts, a fixed event calendar and several language groups. A business that does not separate them posts for everyone and reaches no one. This guide does not repeat the summary on the page above; it walks through the decisions of social media management Moers in the order in which they come up.

Talha Aslan and team run the work fully online from Istanbul. We have no branch, representative or staff in Germany. That is why each section also explains how shoots, approvals, replies and reports work from a distance and what stays with you.

Who looks at your profile, district by district

Plan a Moers account around where your customers live, not around the total population of the city. The city's statistics office divides Moers into three districts and 22 residential areas. On 31 December 2025, 60,407 people lived in the district of Moers, 36,744 in Rheinkamp and 11,180 in Kapellen; 97.8% of the registered people have their main residence in the city.

The largest residential areas give a sense of where posts with a clear local reference pay off:

  • Mitte: 15,670 residents, the center of business life with the old town and the pedestrian zone.
  • Hochstraß: 13,702, the second largest residential area and a neighborhood with its own character.
  • Asberg: 11,845, the third large area in the district of Moers.
  • Repelen: 10,944, the largest residential area in the district of Rheinkamp.
  • Meerbeck: 9,413, also in Rheinkamp, with its own customers for bakeries, salons and services.

Children and teenagers under 18 together make up 16.3%, so parents who look for appointments, directions and holiday hours are a large group. Before the first content plan, write down the postal codes of your last ten customers; that list says more than any estimate and shows which place names belong in your posts.

Smaller areas speak in their own voice too: Schwafheim has 7,172 residents, Hülsdonk 5,601, Eick 5,221 and Utfort 5,005. A business that says Repelen or Schwafheim stands closer to its audience than one that only says Moers. The catchment area does not stop at the city line either: Destatis lists 66,993 people in Dinslaken and 60,785 in Wesel at the end of 2024, and a business names those places only where it really works.

Which platform fits which Moers business

Choose the platform where your customers make up their minds, not the one with the most users. Because more than half of Moers residents are at least 45 years old, Facebook remains a regular channel for many local audiences next to Instagram. We settle where your audience sits in the first call, using your customer data rather than assumptions.

  • Instagram: the main shop window for salons, cafes, shops and driving schools; Reels show the business, stories report the day, highlights hold fixed details.
  • Facebook: for events, notices about opening hours and neighborhood groups in which older people and families read.
  • Google Business Profile: the place where people check hours, photos and reviews before they call or set out.
  • LinkedIn: for companies in the business parks that look for buyers, apprentices and skilled staff.
  • TikTok: only for offers that a younger audience will understand and that a short video can explain as a sequence.
  • WhatsApp: not a network but the path from profile to appointment.

Three questions help with each platform: Where does your audience ask questions today? Who in the business can answer there within one working day? What footage does your daily work produce anyway? If the answer to one of them is no, we postpone the platform.

One shoot can feed several channels: Reels, a frame that suits Facebook and a short text for a Google post. We write the text separately for each channel, because a pasted copy looks natural nowhere. A platform you cannot maintain does more harm than good, so start with two channels and widen only when replies and reports run calmly.

The Moers year as a content calendar

A good plan starts with the calendar the city already sets, not with whatever happens in the week. According to Moers Marketing, the city's organizer, these fixed points belong to the year; exact dates change annually and should be checked against the official calendar before posting.

  • Weekly market: Tuesdays and Fridays on the Neumarkt, from April to September from 7:30 a.m., from October to March from 8 a.m., always until 2 p.m.
  • Moerser Frühling and Moerser Herbst: big city festivals on the first weekend of April and October, with shops open on Sunday.
  • Flea market: on four Sundays a year with more than 300 stalls from the Kastellplatz through the old town to Steinstraße.
  • moers festival: every year at Pentecost, plus the International ComedyArts Festival, the Kirmes and the Christmas market in front of the castle backdrop.
  • Other occasions: Schloss and Theaterfest, Cars and Castle, ExtraSchicht and the Nacht der Geschichte.

Set three posts for each fixed point: an announcement two to three weeks ahead, a reminder with hours the day before and a short look back afterward. That keeps the account visible in quiet weeks and spares you from improvising in festival week.

The seasons carry content too. Solimare has an outdoor pool, an activity pool and an ice rink; in fall and winter the markets and the Christmas market move to the front, in spring the city festivals. Cafes, children's courses or physiotherapy nearby can use these waves as an occasion. This ties social media management Moers to the calendar rather than to the mood of the week.

Production from a distance: shot list, templates, approval

We do not film at your premises from Istanbul; we plan the shoot so that you or a photographer of your choice can carry it out without prior knowledge. That works when motifs, order and formats are fixed beforehand and everybody holds the same list. The sequence goes step by step:

  1. In a video call we settle the purpose, the audience and the three things your business does better than others.
  2. You receive a shot list with motifs, image formats and notes on light and sound, for example for a window, market stall, treatment room or workshop.
  3. You or your photographer shoot on the agreed day and upload the footage to a shared folder.
  4. We select, cut Reels, design carousels and write draft texts in the agreed language.
  5. You approve the monthly plan in writing; only then do we publish.
  6. We place the posts in the calendar and check links and details on the publishing day.

One shooting day yields material for several weeks when the list plans for reuse, such as the same window as a Reel, a photo and a story. Recurring formats like the market day greeting or the news of the week get fixed templates, so editing does not start from zero every time.

Comments and messages: reply routine and handoff

A reply is good when it answers the question in one sentence and names the next step. For businesses we run from a distance, we write down responsibilities beforehand so that no question falls between Istanbul and the business. A simple split has worked well:

  • We answer: opening hours, directions, process, price questions with a pointer to the pricing page, thanks for praise.
  • You answer: questions about individual treatments, customer files, complaints and anything that needs a decision of the house.
  • Handoff: whoever wants an appointment gets a WhatsApp link or the phone number; the conversation continues there.
  • Escalation: complaints, threats and signs of an emergency go at once to a named person in the business.

Turkey is one hour ahead of Germany in summer and two hours ahead in winter, so we set fixed reply windows that fit your opening hours. An account that answers in the evening looks attentive; one that stays silent for days looks abandoned. In an emergency a call to the business always counts, not a direct message, and we say so in the profile description.

Google Business Profile and reviews in Moers

For Moers businesses the Google Business Profile is often the first impression, ahead of Instagram. The name must match the real world name without added search terms; a business that serves customers only in the area around it can hide the address. First check whether hours, phone, address and link agree with the website and social media. Differences cause confusion and in the end poor reviews.

  • Posts: notices about market hours, festival Sundays, offers and new services appear as a post and not only in the story.
  • Photos: real pictures of the entrance, the room and the team; a photo of the street front helps with directions.
  • Reviews: every review gets its own measured reply; critical reviews we answer without defensiveness and with an offer to settle the matter by phone.
  • Questions and answers: you answer frequent questions about parking or step free access in advance.

After a successful appointment, ask politely for a review, but offer nothing in return. Bought, swapped or invented reviews break the platform rules, harm trust and are out of the question for us.

Languages: German, Turkish and English in Moers

German is the main line; Turkish and English are targeted additions with a purpose of their own. According to the register, 4,030 people with Turkish citizenship live in Moers, 25.1% of the 16,052 foreign residents. The figure counts passports only and leaves out Moers residents with a German passport who read Turkish; it is a pointer and not proof of an audience.

  • German: for authorities, insurers, practices, retail and everything everyone has to understand.
  • Turkish: for businesses with Turkish speaking regulars, in short texts of their own, not as a translation of the German post.
  • English: for guests of the moers festival, international skilled workers and suppliers with foreign buyers.

A Turkish post may have a different tone and different examples, provided that details on hours, services and conditions match exactly. For this we keep a shared fact sheet from which all language versions draw.

Begin with one language and add the second only when the first runs reliably; two half lines help nobody. We suggest no other languages and do not make multilingual accounts more complicated than needed. Social media management Moers in Turkish and English follows the same rule as in German: every text is read before publishing by a person who masters the language, and you approve it. A correction made in one language is carried into the other versions.

Sector examples drawn from the Moers economy

Which content carries depends on the business, and the Moers economy shows the main weights. According to the city's statistics office there are about 4,200 companies and more than 43,000 jobs; retail has the most businesses, health and social services the most employees. Four typical directions follow for social media management Moers. None is a copy of another; each has its own hours, its own language and its own yardstick.

  • Practices and care: team introductions, the course of an appointment, consulting hours and job posts; the sector page social media for physiotherapy shows the setup. Before and after comparisons are restricted in Germany for operations of plastic surgery under § 11 HWG, so content stays on information.
  • Retail in the center: window news, opening hours for market days and festival Sundays, short notes on parking around the Kastell as far as you have confirmed them yourself.
  • Business parks: 926 businesses, 22.1% of all Moers businesses, were based in designated business parks in 2024, and 23,338 people worked there; the sector page social media for industrial companies covers team, training and certificates.
  • Food and events: dishes, rooms and hours around the castle and the festival; details at social media for restaurants.

The same first question applies to all four, because without a clear aim no format works: what should a post trigger, a call, an appointment, a visit to the shop or an application? Whoever names it beforehand can choose format and language afterward. Social media management Moers differs more between a practice in Kapellen and a supplier in Hülsdonk than a common content plan could show.

Collaborations with Moers creators and labelling

Working with a local creator helps if audience and catchment area fit your business, and it is clean only if the advertising character is recognizable. Under § 5a UWG a person acts unfairly who fails to make the commercial purpose of a business practice recognizable unless it is evident from the circumstances. The Medienanstalten have published a guide on labelling advertising in online media.

We plan such collaborations under influencer marketing. Four rules apply to a Moers account:

  • Check the fit: Do the creator's followers live around Moers and in Kreis Wesel, or is the reach mostly elsewhere?
  • Written brief: content, period, approval and what counts as compensation, whether fee, goods or a visit.
  • Label it: the word Werbung, meaning advertisement, belongs visibly in the post and on every story card.
  • No promises about impact: we promise neither reach nor inquiries.

We treat small collaborations with clubs or local cultural organizers the same way. Even when no money changes hands, a benefit with monetary value can call for labelling; when in doubt, have the classification checked legally.

Privacy, consent and copyright

Whatever you publish needs a legal basis, and for people in pictures that is usually consent. Data protection and the right to one's own image apply to posts; in practice this means photos of customers, patients, apprentices or children go online only with explicit consent, and for children from the parents. From employees we obtain written consent and take posts down on request.

  • Consent template: a short statement with purpose, platform and duration; we supply the structure, your legal adviser checks the wording.
  • Crowds: pictures from the weekly market or a city festival show overviews, not recognizable individuals in the foreground.
  • Music: songs in Reels need a license; we use tracks from the platforms' libraries that are cleared for business accounts.
  • Third party images: photos from the internet, organizers' logos or festival posters we use only with permission.
  • Imprint: under § 5 DDG, provider details that are easy to find are expected on profiles used in business; a bio link to the imprint page of the website is common.

If someone asks for their image to be removed, we hide or delete the post without delay and tell the business.

Measurement and the monthly report without result promises

What gets measured is what brings inquiries closer, not the number of likes. A report that shows only reach does not answer whether somebody called or came by. We therefore link profile, website and calls step by step and say openly where a measurement has gaps. Every number in the report has a source: the platform, your records or the link tag. We do not put a number without a source into the report.

  • Profile actions: visits, route requests, calls and link clicks from Instagram and the Google profile.
  • Link tracking: the bio link gets a UTM tag, which you can also build yourself with the UTM link builder.
  • Physical traces: a QR code at the door, market stall or counter leads with its own tag to the booking page.
  • Messages: we count how many direct messages turned into appointments or visits, based on your records.
  • Questions in the business: ask new customers how they know you; the answer completes any statistic.

At the end of the month we discuss which format brought saves and messages, what drops out and how the next month looks. For paid reach, read our page on Meta Ads; it does not replace content that builds trust.

Common mistakes of Moers businesses on social media

Most mistakes come not from ignorance but from a lack of time in daily work. Six repeat especially often in social media management Moers, each with a better alternative.

  • Posting on a whim: Better is a fixed rhythm that follows the city calendar and your strong weeks.
  • Instagram only: With an audience of which half is at least 45, Facebook and the Google profile belong too.
  • Outdated details: Old opening hours in a story and in the profile cost customers; a comparison in the monthly report catches this.
  • One language for everyone: Better are separate short texts where regulars read differently.
  • Photos without consent: Get the approval before the shoot, not after the complaint.
  • Bought reach: Buying followers brings no customers; invest the time in replies and content.

If you want to change just one point, start with the details: they are the base of every post, and a customer standing at a closed door seldom stays friendly. Consent and labelling come next, because they are hard to repair later. Formats, tone and new platforms are discussed only after that; a solid base makes every later decision easier.

Choosing a partner and the first 90 days

Choose a partner who explains how shoots, approvals and replies work from a distance and who promises no follower numbers. Ask about the course of a month, about access rights (the accounts stay with you), about a fixed reporting day and about who in your business gives approvals.

A good partner shows you every month what was done, what was dropped and why, with a clear summary instead of pages of reports. The site where visitors from the networks land we plan with web design for Moers. For the first call, bring profile links, the postal codes of your recent customers, existing photos and the languages your customers read. Nothing more is needed. The first 90 days run in three phases:

  • Month one: profile review, audience check, shot list, first approval and setting up access.
  • Month two: first shoot, regular posts, reply routine, comparison with the Google profile.
  • Month three: first comparison of formats, trimming of the plan, decision on a second language or another platform.

After 90 days you see which formats trigger messages and visits and which only cost time. On that basis we decide together whether the scope stays, grows or shrinks. You take the next step through contact: a free first call of 15 minutes by video, then a written quote. How the fee is put together is under pricing; ad budget is never part of a package.
