Social media for the Gold Coast

Social Media Management in Gold Coast

A Gold Coast business account is read on a phone by a family that has just moved into Coomera, a couple from Christchurch planning a long weekend, a nurse coming off a shift in Southport and a neighbour in Burleigh choosing where to eat. Our social media management for Gold Coast businesses is built for those readers: posts that name the suburb, a calendar tied to visitor peaks and school holidays, prompt replies and a monthly report, all delivered online.

In short

Social media management on the Gold Coast means writing for residents and visitors at once. Experience Gold Coast counted 12.4 million visitors in the year to September 2024, so one account is read by people who know every suburb and by people who are still learning them. We plan suburb accurate content, the handling of comments and messages, and a monthly report. Follower counts and reach are never promised.

The Gold Coast audience

Who is looking at a Gold Coast business account?

The coast is a long strip of very different suburbs, and these four groups decide what a business account has to show.

People added to the estimated resident population in the year to 30 June 2025 (SA4 regions)ABS, Regional population 2024 to 25, Table 3 (Statistical Areas Level 4), change between 2024 and 2025

  • Sunshine Coast8,195

Families and newcomers in the growing north

The ABS puts the Gold Coast region at 708,085 residents on 30 June 2025, up 12,215 in a year. The northern suburbs carry much of that change: Coomera has 24,313 residents, Upper Coomera North 21,884, Hope Island 18,253 and Pimpama North 13,841. In the 2021 Census 41.1% of the city's families were couples with children, so many readers are parents still learning which clinic, cafe or tradie sits closest to home. A caption that names the suburb answers their first question.

Visitors from across the Tasman and the border

Experience Gold Coast counted 12.4 million visitors in the year to September 2024, 7.6 million of them on day trips. New Zealand is the largest international market at a record 221,000 visitors, and regional New South Wales sent 649,000 overnight guests. The 2021 Census also lists 44,485 New Zealand born residents, 7.1% of the city, so a reference to Auckland or Christchurch lands with guests and neighbours alike. Day trippers choose in the car or on the sand, so hours and how to find you come first.

Students and shift workers around Southport

The Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct in Southport lists more than 20,000 students and more than 16,000 workers around Griffith University and two hospitals. Hospitals are also the largest employing industry in the 2021 Census with 14,566 workers, ahead of cafes and restaurants with 9,466. These readers scroll between lectures and after shifts, so evening replies and posts that work in a short break matter more than a morning only rhythm.

A Turkish speaking niche, not a default

Turkey is not among the leading birthplaces in the ABS 2021 profile of the city, where Australia (65.2%), New Zealand (7.1%) and England (4.9%) lead, and we found no city level figure we could verify. English therefore leads. Turkish captions suit services run by or for Turkish speaking families, and German suits guests from Germany, Austria or Switzerland only when your own enquiries show them.

How we work

Gold Coast accounts run online from Istanbul

Our team sits in Istanbul and has no office, staff or presence on the Gold Coast or elsewhere in Australia. Queensland keeps the same clock all year, so the coast is seven hours ahead of us in every month: 4 pm in Surfers Paradise is 9 am here. Tweed Heads, beside Coolangatta, belongs to New South Wales and moves an hour further ahead in summer, so a timed offer names the clock it follows.

With nobody from our side standing in your shop, studio or clinic, the pictures come from you or from a photographer of your choosing. We write the shot list, the caption and story templates and the approval step that comes before anything is published. We never pretend to have a local crew.

The accounts remain yours; you give us access through each platform's own settings. Clicks land on your site, which is web design for the Gold Coast work, and any paid boost is planned on its own under Meta ads management.

The plan at a glance
  1. A look at your bio, link, highlights and map listing
  2. A shot list that fits one phone session
  3. A calendar keyed to school terms and visitor peaks
  4. Calls placed in your Gold Coast afternoon
  5. A monthly report, then a call to go through it

Sectors we see most

Gold Coast businesses that benefit most from social media management

A coast built on visitors, hospitals and fast growing new suburbs points to these accounts.

Holiday apartments, hotels and rentals

Guests compare the walk to the sand, the view and the pool before they message. A hotel or holiday rental account does best with room by room clips, a short map of nearby beaches and shops, and one pinned post that says how to enquire.

Day tours and attractions

With 7.6 million day trips in a year, an operator is often talking to people already on the coast. A day tour account shows the meeting point, what is included, what to bring and a wet weather plan kept ready in highlights.

Clinics and allied health near Southport

Hospitals are the city's largest single employing industry in the 2021 Census. Ahpra bans testimonials in advertising a regulated health service, social media included, so a physiotherapy or dental account leans on education, team introductions and how a first visit works. A patient's own Google review may stay where the patient posted it, but the practice should not feature it in its posts.

Cafes, bakeries and takeaway

Cafes and restaurants employ 9,466 people and takeaway food services 7,364 in the 2021 Census. In Burleigh Heads, Miami or Broadbeach a restaurant or coffee roastery has many neighbours, so a short counter video, current hours and a pinned takeaway note make the choice easy for a visitor with ten minutes.

Property agents and builders in the new suburbs

As Coomera, Pimpama and Hope Island add residents, a real estate agency or renovation firm can share street level guides, inspection reminders and handover stories. We ask for licence details before the first post and have them checked against your licensing body's rules.

Process

From audit to reporting in four steps

  1. First call and audit

You send your profile links, and we clarify goals and scope in a free 15-minute call. With your approval, we review accounts, past content and competitors, then write a short status summary.

  2. Strategy and calendar

We settle platforms, content pillars, brand voice and the reply guide, and the first month’s calendar comes to you for approval. You add our team through official role settings; we never ask for passwords.

  3. Production, publishing and community

We produce the approved designs and videos, schedule them, and answer comments and messages by the guide. Every link to your website gets a UTM tag.

  4. Report and improvement

At the end of the month, a short report explains reach, engagement and enquiries, and next month’s plan changes accordingly. Where it helps, we plan paid support together.

How we work

Our approach to Gold Coast accounts

No Gold Coast client project exists yet and we will not hint at one. What follows is how we would run an account for a business on the coast; our other projects, every one delivered from Türkiye, are listed on the references page.

We start from the stretch of coast you trade on

The beachfront, Southport, the hinterland and the new northern suburbs are read differently, so content lines follow the people who really reach you.

We plan for busy weeks and quiet ones

School holidays, a marathon weekend or a wet week change who is looking. Together we decide what is prepared early and what stays light.

We write the reply routine down

Who answers a guest's question before the trip, who takes a booking, in which language, and the point at which a chat moves to a call or WhatsApp.

We report what actually moved

Each month: saves, shares, profile visits, link clicks and enquiries. Formats that earn nothing are dropped.

In-depth guide

Social Media Management Gold Coast: A Guide Along the Strip

Talha Aslan and teamLast updated: 14 min read

The Gold Coast is a thin ribbon of suburbs about as long as it is busy, and a business account here is read by people who place themselves by where they are standing: north of the river mouth, near the beach, up the hill, across the border. The readers we have in mind run a business on the coast and want an account that answers the first question before the customer has to ask it.

Talha Aslan and team deliver this service fully online. You or a photographer you choose capture the pictures; we plan, write, reply and report. Each section below ends with a decision you can make on your own, because social media management Gold Coast projects are won or lost on choices like these long before any posting schedule exists.

Residents and Visitors Read the Same Post

A single post on the coast is often read by a person who lives ten minutes away and a person who lands next week, and it has to serve both without confusing either. Residents want to know whether you are open on a Tuesday and whether parking is easy. Visitors want to know whether you are worth a detour from where they are staying.

The page above shows the size of the audience: the ABS counts 708,085 residents in the region, and Experience Gold Coast counted 12.4 million visitors in a year, 7.6 million of them on day trips. A day trip is decided quickly, often in the car, so the first line of a caption and the first frame of a video carry most of the weight.

  • Residents: reward consistency, local detail and a human reply.
  • Overnight guests: compare options the evening before and save posts for later.
  • Day trippers: want hours, location and what to bring, in that order.
  • Business buyers: look for the people behind a name before they write.

Write down which of the four brings most of your income and design the pinned post and the first highlight for that reader.

Choosing Platforms Without Spreading Thin

Good social media management Gold Coast work starts with fewer channels: pick two platforms you can keep alive and treat the Google profile as a third, rather than opening every account and answering none. Instagram is the default for food, stays, wellness and property because the profile, highlights and direct messages sit in one place. Facebook still carries community groups, event pages and an older local audience, and a short video can be reused there without extra shooting.

TikTok suits discovery: a visitor who has never heard of you can meet you through a thirty second clip of the counter, the boat ramp or the treatment room. It asks more of you in energy and less in polish. LinkedIn matters only if your buyers are other businesses, which is the case for suppliers, consultancies and some clinics near the hospital precinct.

  1. List where your last ten customers said they found you.
  2. Keep the two platforms that appear most, plus the Google profile.
  3. Write one sentence on what each platform is for, for example discovery, booking questions or staff stories.
  4. Close or park accounts you cannot reach once a week, and say so in the bio of any you leave behind.

A Content Map Drawn Along the Coast

Effective social media management Gold Coast accounts treat the coast as four zones, giving each its own habits in the content, since a customer in Coomera and a customer in Coolangatta rarely mean the same thing by near me. The ABS statistical areas give a reliable vocabulary: Ormeau and Oxenford and Robina in the north and west, Southport and Surfers Paradise in the middle, Broadbeach and Burleigh then Coolangatta in the south, and the hinterland around Nerang, Mudgeeraba and Tamborine.

Name the zone in the bio and the suburb in every caption. Coomera alone has 24,313 residents, Palm Beach 18,678 and Burleigh Heads 10,055, so each suburb is a town in its own right with its own cafes, clinics and tradies competing for the same eyes.

  • North and west: young families, new estates, services people have not yet chosen.
  • Middle: visitors, towers, shift workers and the health precinct.
  • South: surf and beach routines, cafes, studios, the border with New South Wales.
  • Hinterland: weekend drivers, markets, outdoor activity, longer travel times.

Choose the zone where most of your revenue is made and let the other three appear in a single highlight, not in every post.

A Calendar Built From Terms, Peaks and Weather

The most reliable calendar here is made of three layers: Queensland school terms, the visitor peaks you know from your own bookings, and a wet weather plan. State schools run four terms with breaks around April, the end of June, late September and a summer holiday of more than six weeks, and families plan around those breaks.

The Gold Coast Marathon fills a weekend in July along the beaches and the Broadwater, and any gym, physio, cafe or stay near the course can prepare for it weeks ahead, always built on its own offer and never on the event as if it were a partner. New Zealand guests travel on their own school holiday dates, so look those up as well.

  1. Mark school breaks, the marathon weekend and your own busiest days on one sheet.
  2. For each peak, decide the first post three weeks ahead.
  3. Prepare a rainy day set of stories: indoor options, opening hours, a short staff clip.
  4. Leave one open slot a week for something that happens on the day.

Quiet weeks are not a failure; plan a lighter rhythm for them rather than filling the gap with filler posts.

Producing Content Without Anyone on Site

Because nobody from our side stands in your shop, production runs on a repeatable monthly cycle that you can carry. A shot list names ten or so scenes, and each scene can be filmed in a minute or two on a phone held steady against the light.

For a clinic that might be the entrance, a team introduction and the room where a first appointment happens; for a tour operator, the meeting point, the vehicle or boat and the first step of the day. One session then feeds stories, a reel and two carousels, with caption templates keeping the voice constant.

  1. We send the monthly shot list and caption templates.
  2. You film in one session, in good light, away from your busiest hour.
  3. You upload the clips to a shared folder.
  4. We edit, write the captions and send a preview.
  5. You approve or change; we schedule.

If you prefer a photographer, we write a brief that lists the scenes, the tone and the pictures to avoid, and you choose the person. We do not claim a local crew.

Replies, Direct Messages and the Seven Hour Gap

Our social media management Gold Coast routine answers fast during the hours your customers are awake and says plainly when the next reply will come, since the coast is seven hours ahead of our working day. A message sent at 9 pm in Burleigh arrives at 2 pm with us, so evening enquiries from guests who are planning the next day are manageable if the routine is written down.

The routine defines three things: what we answer ourselves from your approved list, what we pass to you, and when a chat moves to a call or WhatsApp. Pre arrival questions from guests are the most frequent category, and an approved answer bank covers most of them.

  • Answered by us: opening hours, location, parking, what is included, how to book.
  • Passed to you: availability on a specific day, special requests, complaints.
  • Moved off the platform: payments, medical or personal details, anything needing a quote.
  • Flagged at once: anything that sounds like a crisis or a safety matter.

Set an away message on the inbox so a visitor knows when to expect a reply.

Google Profile Posts and Reviews on the Coast

The Google profile is where a visitor with a phone in hand ends up, so keep its posts, hours and photos as current as the Instagram grid. A short post about a changed timetable, a seasonal menu or a wet weather option costs five minutes and keeps the listing alive. Name the suburb, because the map treats Burleigh Heads and Burleigh Waters as different places.

Reviews are a conversation, not a scoreboard. Reply to each with something specific, thank the writer by first name where they gave it, and keep a complaint reply short, calm and offering a way to talk. The ACCC treats fake or misleading reviews as unlawful, and it expects any reward to be disclosed and offered whatever rating the customer gives.

For regulated health practices there is an extra point: Ahpra's guidelines say a patient who posts on Google independently is outside the testimonial ban, but the practice should not feature that review in its own advertising.

  • Ask every happy customer, using the same words each time.
  • Never write, buy or filter reviews.
  • Answer within a working day, or tell the writer when you will.

Which Language to Post In

English comes first on the coast, because residents and most visitors read it before anything else, and the Census shows 44,485 New Zealand born residents, 7.1% of the city, so the English you use should be plain Australasian English rather than American. Use local words once they feel natural, such as servo or arvo, but not so heavily that an overseas guest has to guess.

Turkish suits a family run service or a community account that Turkish speaking customers ask for; we found no city level count we could verify, so treat it as a choice that your own enquiries should justify. German helps when you receive requests from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, for instance a stay or a tour that those guests book ahead.

  1. Decide the main language of each platform and keep it.
  2. Write secondary language posts as separate posts, never as a mixed caption.
  3. Have a second reader check every translation before it goes live.
  4. Keep the profile name, address and hours identical across languages.

We write and review in English, Turkish and German, and we do not offer other languages.

What Different Coast Businesses Post

In social media management Gold Coast businesses need sector knowledge, because it decides whether a post earns a save or a scroll, so shape content lines around what the customer is really deciding. A holiday rental or hotel shows the walk to the sand, the view at dusk and the check in routine. A day tour shows the meeting point, what to bring and the plan if it rains.

A physiotherapy or dental practice near the hospital precinct teaches: how a first visit runs, who the team are, what to ask. A cafe or bakery shows the counter, today's hours and a takeaway note, because food and takeaway services together employ more than 16,000 people in the 2021 Census and the competition for a glance is real.

  • Stays: room clips, nearby map, a pinned how to enquire post.
  • Tours: departure point, inclusions, weather plan.
  • Clinics: education, team, process, no testimonials.
  • Cafes: counter video, hours, takeaway.
  • Property and trades: street guides, inspection reminders, finished work with permission.

Pick the line that matches your sector and cut anything that does not help a customer decide.

Creators, Gifted Products and Labelling

Working with a local creator is an advertising relationship the moment money or a free product changes hands, and Australian self regulation expects the audience to see that at a glance. Section 2.7 of the AANA Code of Ethics requires advertising to be clearly distinguishable as such, and the practice note lists Ad, Advertising and Paid Partnership as clear labels while warning that gifted or collab may not be enough.

Write the label into the brief before the shoot, ask the creator to place it where it can be seen without tapping, and keep a screenshot of the published post. If a creator gives your business a glowing mention on their own and nothing was agreed, you can share it with their permission, but you may not edit it to hide the arrangement.

The collaboration itself, from choosing creators to contracts, belongs under influencer marketing; the account side is the label, the post check and the reply to comments.

  1. Agree deliverables and the label in writing.
  2. Check the draft for the label before it is posted.
  3. Reply to comments on the creator's post from your account.
  4. Record what was provided and when.

Privacy, Consent and Music

Ask before you show a person, and ask a parent before you show a child. A clear yes, recorded in a message or on a simple form, is the safest habit for customer photos, staff pictures and tour group shots. The OAIC explains that small businesses with a modest annual turnover are generally outside the Privacy Act, but health service providers are covered whatever their turnover, so a clinic should treat every patient image as sensitive.

Beaches and boardwalks are public, yet a stranger's face in the background of a promotional video is still a risk, so frame shots with that in mind. Music is a separate rights question: a business account should use tracks from the platform's business library or a licensed source, and should never copy the song playing in the room into a video.

  • Keep a one page photo consent form for staff and regular customers.
  • Do not post an image of an unwell person without written consent.
  • Use the business music library, or a licence you can show.
  • Credit and ask before sharing a customer's own post.

Have the final policy wording checked by a solicitor.

Measuring an Account Without Promises

Reporting on social media management Gold Coast accounts should measure the actions that sit close to a decision and ignore vanity counts, because nobody can honestly promise a number of followers or a reach. Saves show that a visitor wants to return to a post; shares show that someone else was told; profile visits and link clicks show the step before an enquiry.

Tag the link in your bio with UTM parameters using a free tool such as the UTM builder, so the website analytics tell you which platform sent the visit. Count calls and direction requests from the Google profile separately, and note which messages became real enquiries from your own records.

  1. Choose four numbers a month: saves, shares, profile visits and link clicks.
  2. Add two from your own records: enquiries and bookings.
  3. Compare each month with the last, not with a stranger's account.
  4. Name one format to repeat and one to stop.

The monthly report states what moved, what did not and what changes next month, and we go through it on a call.

Mistakes Gold Coast Businesses Make on Social Media

Most problems in social media management Gold Coast owners try on their own come from treating the account as a noticeboard instead of a front door. These six recur, and each has a straightforward alternative that costs little more than a change of habit.

  • Posting only in peak season: then going silent. Keep a light rhythm in quiet weeks so the account is alive when guests arrive.
  • Tagging every beach suburb: to look local. Tag only where you trade and list the rest in one highlight.
  • Leaving visitor questions unanswered overnight: use an approved answer bank and an away message.
  • Featuring patient praise: in a clinic account. Use education and team stories instead.
  • Offering a discount for a five star review: ask for an honest review and disclose any reward.
  • Using a trending song: without a licence. Take music from the business library.

Pick the two that apply to you and fix those before adding anything new. Ask a friend who does not work in your trade to scroll your account for a minute and tell you what they think you sell, since that outside view finds the gaps faster than a checklist.

Choosing a Partner and Your First 90 Days

A good partner can describe their reply routine, their approval step and their report before the contract, and is honest that they cannot promise reach, followers or bookings. We have no Gold Coast client project yet, and we say so; what we offer is a clear way of working that runs online and fits your day.

The first 90 days settle the rhythm. In the first month we review your profiles, write the content lines and agree the reply routine. In the second we run the full cycle, from shot list to scheduled post. In the third we read the numbers, retire the weak formats and plan for the next peak.

  1. Send your profile links, your suburb and your audience on a short form.
  2. Join a call at a time that suits your afternoon.
  3. Receive a written scope and quote.
  4. Give access through the platforms' own settings and start the first cycle.

Read the pricing section for how packages are built, look at the web design page for the Gold Coast for the site your posts send people to, plan any paid boost separately under Meta ads management, and when you are ready, talk to us.
